Ren is from Anglesey, Wales. He moved to Brighton, that's where The Big Push did their busking.

Ren grew up in Dwyran on Anglesey. This is filmed on Ship Street in Brighton, where Ren has lived most of his adult life, though he's spent the last year or so living primarily in Canada getting medical treatments.

Ren was looking for a roommate, back about 2016...and that's where he met Romain, also living in Brighton (they had both recently broken up with their girlfriends, as Ren tells it). Goran Kendall on the bass guitar would go out solo busking...and that's where they all met up. In 2017 they would all go out and busk together becoming The Big Push (not sure how the name came about)... All sing and play various instruments. And they've written several of their own songs as well. All very talented!

The emotions he can pull out of me was scary at first but being part of a base that is so loving and encouraging and positive has given me room to be who I am and be OK with showing my true humanity to the world. Ren is an amazing artist. Rest of the band is Gorran Kendall on bass, Romain Axisa on guitar, and Glenn Chambers on drums. Ren, Gorran, and Romain all sing lead and play a variety of instruments.

THE BIG PUSH (also known as the Battle of the Somme) was the British and French attempt to defeat the Germans in WWI. It was expected to be lightning fast and end the war. The British lost 60,000 men the first day. The battle ended four months later with well over one million casualties and 300,000 fatalities. This is filmed in Brighton, he was born in Wales but moved to Anglesey and then to Brighton. He is now here in Canada getting treatment for his autoimmunity disease.
Ren broke up with his gf and needed a place to stay and ended up replying to an add for a roommate that Romain had posted and the rest is history ❤

I’m a little long in the tooth and grew up with the likes of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and so on. Ren, to me, is the most genuine and exciting artist to come around in a long time. He is a complete package. You will enjoy every turn on this journey. Next, listen to him with Chinchilla. Perhaps “I Forgot How To Be Me” would be a good choice.

In terms of filming, I'm not 100% sure who's behind the lens, but Ren and The Big Push often use one of three guys to film: Samuel Perry-Falvey, Luke Flegg, or Joe Flack.

They are SO good because they put the music and their love for it first. Ren, Romain ( here on guitar), and Gorran ( here on bass) are all multi instrumentalists and they share the position of “ frontman “. Their song “ Dignity “ really captures what makes them so special. You can’t go wrong with any of their sessions, whether it’s busking or original music.

You are right about Romains guitar. Ren lives in Brighton. Currently been in canada for over a year getting treatments for the lyme disease that was misdiagnosed for many years. He was deathly ill. You will see this in his music. The journey of his illness. Very profound lyrics. The big push is on hold currently. They are all doing their own thing. Check out war pigs cover by the big push. I think you will like it.

Ren is Welsh, used to live in Brighton until end-of-2022. Has then lived in Canada to treat his post-Lime-disease illnesses and still does.
In this video they are at the North end of Ship street, Brighton, England. Ren likes the narrow Brighton streets because the facades of the houses opposite cast the sound back to the busking musicians who do not need a monitor speaker in this setting to hear how they sound.

They had to split up when Ren (-> Canada) and Glenn (-> Asia) left for different continents end-of 2023. They may re-unite in Brighton later this year, when Ren finishes his medical treatment in Canada.
While they have been coined a Busking Band, they also have a number of original songs, studio recordings and unbelievable videos (Watch Out!, Why My Woman?, What Kind Of Woman Is This?, Swan Song, Icarus etc.) and they have 🔥 BTS videos, too. Like with Ren many songs exist with different versions, the original studio version, a live video and a number of busking videos, too. It is all worth checking out and reacting to.

The Big Push came about because Ren and Romain used to go out to busk since they both play and were roommates. People kept asking what their band was called, so they decided to form one. Gorran Romain and Ren were roommates for quite a while, and they "stole" Glenn from a friend's band.
They have a number of friends who filmed both the busking and the music videos: Samuel Perry-Falvey, and Luke Flegg are frequent names you'll see.

As amazing as their musical talent is I think this is great example of how great a producer Ren is. He takes hours, sometimes note by note to balance the sound on these videos and the clean up back ground noises etc. He really has skills for the whole process from writing, playing, producing, directing... I wonder if he can dance...lol.

If I remember right, Ren said in an interview that he placed an ad for a flatmate, and Romaine answered it. Then Gorran started crashing on their couch.
They were roommates at one point. Ren used his apartment for several of his videos like Murderer and Animal Flow.

The Big Push formed in 2017. Initially being Ren, Romain and Gorran with Glenn joining later to play drums.
Gorran and Romain met busking, Romain and Ren then met through Facebook while Ren was trying to find a flat mate. They would all busk together and Glenn would sit in as drummer while also playing bass with another friend Rafa. They then decided to become a band and would take to the streets of Brighton and also created masterpieces of their own.
They played numerous gigs including a sold out tour of the U.K. and also released a 6 track EP called “Can Do Will Do”.
They busked together for the last time on 14th December 2022 and played their final gig at the Brighton Dome a short while later. Having to go on hiatus due in part to Ren moving to Canada for medical treatment and their lives going in different directions. Although they remain good friends and Ren and Romain have mentioned wanting to play together again.

Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell.
Ren is 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his life in Brighton, England. He has been very ill for years, at one point being completely bed ridden. He was misdiagnosed for years, being told he was bipolar, had M.E and more and was prescribed medications that made him worse and ended up in psychosis. It turns out Ren had Lyme disease which has caused havoc on his body. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things that were caused by the Lyme disease.
He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too.

Not quite feeling being fan-base, I agree with Chalk Outlines first, actually, maybe even next. It is great knowing Chalk Outlines before watching How To Be Me, but I understand it works near as well the other way round. Can't go wrong with Ren anyway.
