There are a lot of terrible Resident Evil games I haven't played, but of the ones I have, Resident Evil 5 is the worst. A plot constructed of villain buzzwords and a Matrix dodging Wesker are not even the worst sins.

Every time someone mentions RE endings as "Flying off into the sunset", a nitpicky part of me says "Sunrise", because most RE games, or at least their final stretches, happen during the night.
I always thought of it as a jab at movies where the good guy wins and walks off into the sunset but yeah, it's totally true the games ends with sunrises. :D

Actually, I timed the Jill & Wesker boss battle while playing, it is 7 minutes

7 minutes if u hide all the time. If you actually fight him and do some damage then it be over faster.

The millions of people who love RE4 all secretly love this game. Because they're the same fucking game. And they're both awesome.
@@skadrumsandwich7415 They really are very identical. But hating on RE 5 is the hip thing to do. I like RE 4, but that is the game that turned the franchise into action based, rather than survival horror. My only complaint in RE 5 was forcing the player to share ammo with the AI. I can't begin to tell you how many times Sheva emptied magazine after magazine into my back lol
@@simplyluis6548 Yeaaaa that's my only real gripe about RE5. If you play it with a friend as a co-op, it reallt is amazing though. I feel lile that's how the gsme was meant to be played. And yea, as much as I love RE4, it did set Resident Evil on a path that it almost didn't recover from. Haha. I use to say that RE4 was the greatest game to ever ruin it's own franchise. Glad they've gone back to real survival horror though. Can't wait for the 2 remake!!

The fight against Jill and Wesker actually automatically ends after 7 minutes, if you didn't inflict enough damage.

@@erwinmaes3105 I've done it. Just buy the rocket launcher (I had to reset the chapter a couple times in order to get enough gold for it), and equip it with Chris. After Wesker kicks you through the door on the left side once the cutscene ends, run up the stairs in the corridor and hide against the wall. If you hear Wesker say, "There's no point in hiding," that means he lost track of you. This is a perfect time to lie in wait. It may take some time for Wesker to come into the room you are in, but once his back is turned, use the rocket launcher. He will grab hold of the rocket, and you need to switch to another gun to shoot it before he gains control of the rocket. This rocket launcher will do it in one shot. After that, run out of the corridor, and a cutscene will play out, therefore starting your fight with Jill.

As to the “why send in agents without weapons?”, they likely wouldn’t be able to get the weapons through local country’s Customs. Especially a country that seems to going through a civil war.

Its so weird to think about what happened in Resident Evil 5 and then directly compare that to Resident Evil 7. Like the changes are so huge and far from each other. In one game you fire space lasers on a giant monster that is supposed to be a boss, in the other game some hill billy , good christian family are the bosses. Its so amazing to see what this series goes through over the years.
It really is isn't it?! I was talking to a friend yesterday about how 7 is really cool but different from 0-4, and so unlike 5 and 6. It's closer to the original spirit than this game but still different. 5 and 6 just weren't my cup of tea.
True, the super powered handgun of doom and shit was kinda cartoonish I would say, but the overall game was very well grounded from the presentation of like everything. sure you had some weirdo wormy, tentacle monsters coming off the walls, it was all believable and consistent in its own plot.
Zombies riding on motorcross bikes across the country chasing some particular people on the other hand, not so much.
I can't wait for Resident Evil in Space. Kill zombies in space would be awesome.
I'd say the most cartoony thing about RE7 were the villains themselves. The Bakers, Eveline, even Mia when she goes all psycho, all of them just kept talking and talking completely sucking the menace out of the situation and making me just want to pound their faces in instead of running away. None of them have any real personality outside of acting tough, saying all kinds of stupid hack dialog and dropping enough F-bombs and other such slurs to make even Reboot Dante roll his eyes. I'd actually find them scary if only they would just shut the fuck up and just be killer biohazards.....oy, so glad this game at least had the Molded....

gunna point out but at 11:35 Jill was incredibly drained of energy. She even passed out the minute Chris left, she was infact useless for the next 20 minutes of the game... she would never have made it to the ship area.
She had to rest up for the dlc with Josh.
Dartigan clearly didn't bother to play the RE5 DLCs.

Not even counting the DLC, she: was drugged against her will to do EXTREME physical activity beyond her body’s natural limits and capabilities (those leaps for example), was being slammed around by two strong ass people, and ELECTROCUTED by the device several times and STILL forced to keep fighting until it was removed. Realistically her heart should have given out, be happy she even survived, lol.
15:00 That line about Chris coming to the conclusion that he'll keep fighting bioterrorism for a future without fear hasn't aged well, considering that in RE6 and onwards, he wants nothing more than to retire.
I beg to differ. He made that promise to himself and then saw how difficuit is to keep it. No wonder he has become fed-up with the whole situation, especially since he has been fighting bioterrorism and has seen many friends die horribly for most of his adult life.
@@arcotroll8530 Fr, the entirety of Bravo Team (aside from Rebecca) was killed in the mansion incident. His hometown (or at least the city he called home) was destroyed. His boss betrayed him. That same boss then kidnapped his sister and beat the brakes off him. His partner, whom he survived the *worst* call he's ever dealt with as a cop with him, was presumed dead. And that's just leading up to RE5.

This game will always be one of the best memories I‘ve ever had. Because my friends got it for me to my birthday like 7/8 years ago
and we played it splitscreen to the end the same night. And we were like high (from being tired) and laughed about every shit the game presented. I don‘t even remember the plot tbh. Just that we sometimes stayed 5 minutes at the door spamming the call button „CHRIS CHRIS COME ON COME ON CHRIS CHRIS“ „COME ON SHEVA COME ON COME ON COME ON“

My best friend and I, back when we lived together played this game for HOURS. We 100% accomplished every task. Got the highest rating on the Timed extra games with every character, got every gun maxed out, just had a blast with it. I would definitely spend a whole day replaying this if I could.
I swear to God the COME ON SHEVA thing is funniest thing in the game. They toned it down for RE6 :/

I played this game alone first and thought it was terrible
Then I tried it in coop and HAD A FUCKING BLAST
Even the terrible story became a plus, shit-talking about this story with a buddy was extremely entertaining.

not saying that it can't be fun solo, but I think most of the enjoyment at least for me come from kicking ass with a friend and laughing at the ridiculous over-the-top action like Chris punching a boulder or riding a motorbike through a city jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

Resident Evil 5 is redeemed by the sheer fact that it portrayed Albert Wesker in the most badass way ever seen. The cinematics with him are epic.

because mine had slow reflections on those quick times events and even had to grab the controller on weaker fight just to button smash the Square button so sheva doesn't fall into the lava.
12:17 Another sin, Spencer mentions only Albert survived his experiments. This is false as the Lost in Nightmares DLC confirms there were two survivors, Albert and Alex, and Alex is the main antagonist of REV 2.

For Part VII rumors were spreading about her return but I guess that's when Zoe has been put in; their similiar lookings are not uncommon.
It was fun game. It wasn't scary but it had it's thrills. my friend and I had so much fun trying to survive and managing inventory with each other. The story wasn't the best, but when did resident evil ever have a great story? It's strange how terrible dialogue is worshipped in Resident Evil 1, but RE5 is hated for... an ok story? a dumb partner filling in for a lack of a friend? Is sharing items a problem? Is it that big a deal that it's not scary? I'm forcing myself to think of a reason to hate it.

I love Sheva, but it makes sense for her to stay in _her_ branch of the BSAA, staying in Africa with her team to help over there. Not every character needs a comeback because it's not always best for the story. It would look forced.
Characters like Billy from 0, or Ethan from 7, or Carlos from 3, or any of the Outbreak characters don't demand a comeback. Some of them probably realistically don't even WANT to be anywhere near BOWs (who could blame them?). They can be mentioned or referenced, but beyond that would be unnecessary.

It was released in 2009 so ofc, but still it took 8 years for it to sell 7 million copies while resident evil 7 already sold 4 million in 8 months, that's really impressive for a horror game to even manage that in under 1 year

6:42 No. Remember that flight that went missing and nobody found out where it went? Everyone on board is presumed dead. You don't presume someone is alive if you can't find their body, what sort of logic is that?
If they are normal humans sure. But if we are talking about super powered mutants that's a different story. Assuming they could survive that is more logical than just assuming they died.
But Jill wasn't a super powered mutant. And did you see the height on that drop? It is more logical to say they're dead from that.
Wesker was though. Given the power he showed it would be logical to believe he could survive a fall like that. Regardless outright denying ANY possibility of a super powered mutant dude with sunglasses being able to survive a fall like that is almost unbelievable to me especially since they didn't find any bodies. Chris has seen stranger shit in his time. Something like that shouldn't surprise him.
Yeah, I agree Wesker would've had a high chance at surviving but Jill I really doubt had any chance of surviving. Back to the original point. The commentator was speaking in a general sense when saying you presume people who went missing to be alive, I still disagree with that.

The game is fun. The story is not.
The thing I feel like would make this story better is after the Wesker fight, Chris and Jill go after Wesker. Sheva gets hurt or something and is found by Josh. That way the Josh Dlc is better. Plus it makes more sense for Jill and Chris to kill Wesker with the rockets. Plus that quick time event in the harrier where Sheva is falling and Chris is having the flashback about Jill falling, would be better if it was Jill that was falling again.
U do realize that red thing sticking through Jill's chest was absurdly deep. That was amazing jill can walk. Jill was physically and mentally unprepared. That was not wise to let her in the final battle.

The real sin of this game is that we will never see sheva again
0:38- These paramilitary groups are always getting wiped out in every Resident Evil game, just to signal that even the average trained soldier isn't ready for what awaits them. More importantly though, it's not like Chris is in charge or responsible for keeping anyone alive. He was not put in charge of a team (Captain) until Resident Evil 6.
0:52- Barely any discernible difference? I don't think those that played any Resident Evil game from the PS1 era and Resident Evil 4 would agree.
0:59- Well, we do need something other than reading to fill in certain background details.
1:20- The thing is though, that the pharmaceutical company in question has had their assets stolen or retrieved by individuals who instead of turning it into the authorities or using it to develop cures instead sell them to rival companies, terrorists, or sell them on the black market just to name a few.
1:28- I know some people flipped their shit when that 1st trailer dropped, but several people have addressed in interviews that Sheva was always intended to be in the game. Considering she went through several different designs and backgrounds it could simply be possible that not everything was ready to be revealed with that 1st trailer. You don't have to take my word for it though. Karen Dyer who voiced and did the mocap for Sheva said so herself as did the game's producer Jun Takeuchi.
1:33- And she isn't the only one. Carlos from 3, Billy from 0, hell even before this video was made Rebecca had not really been heard from in more than 10 years. Sheva did get a mention in a file, however, in Resident Evil 6.
1:39- lol ok that was a little funny, but it has been explained by one of the developers that Chris bulked up considerably in preparation for his eventual confrontation of Wesker. You have to admit that this stronger more muscular Chris is better equipped to deal with some of these BOW's in general.
2:20- Bloodstains on the shirt of a soldier who's also armed with a machine gun who is right outside of a quarantine zone? Besides, based on Sheva's backstory she should be used to seeing stuff like that.
3:02- Well I can't blame Chris for not instantly knowing that this local was infected and that he would attack him. This is the 1st time that he's actually encountering someone infected with Las Plagas.
3:12- Well yeah, that's what happens. In fact the game follows a similar 3 part act as in Resident Evil 4 even down to similar locations and basic enemies. Remember though the plot starts with a simple premise of chasing down Ricardo Irving and then gradually becomes more than that.
3:17- Actually, the butcher works for the BSAA just like Chris and Sheva. And likely Chris realized that they could not do anything to save him without dying alongside him. It's not reflected well in the gameplay that follows, but there's a huge number of Majini in this area along with the Executioner and all that you're armed with this early in the game are a couple of handguns.
3:42- Um, not exactly. The team that was killed lead by Captain DeChant was Alpha Team and Chris and Sheva were to rendezvous with them to support them to arrest Irving where the original deal was going to take place before Alpha Team realized it was a set up. Chris is NOT responsible.
4:00- Well, I'm an ass man so I'm not complaining lol.
4:13- I don't think that's what Sheva meant considering the area that she and Chris need to travel through in order to meet up with Delta Team doesn't seem like enough open space to drive one of those things through. Especially since they're inside a warehouse with a huge gate that could be locked. The helicopter though only provides air support and would probably need to land in a huge open space to even pick up any more passengers, and that's not something we see on the path that Chris and Sheva need to take. Also, I think it's a good thing they don't travel in the helicopter considering what happens to Kirk.
4:55- More likely that he was taking cover considering Irving was armed and the gas could better hide him if he ducked.
5:44- An explanation that can be drawn from this is that possibly the Ndesu caught them all by surprise and they were all killed before one could call it in. Before the night transition, though, Josh did call in that they were under attack and says there's "too many of them to handle" implying that they were attacked by multiple enemies. Maybe at 1st they were attacked by Majini and in the midst of that fight, the Ndesu was unleashed and subsequently killed them all.
6:33- Wesker was too busy about to kill Chris and was caught by surprise by Jill. Remember, in his boss fight towards the end the lights need to be turned off in order to blind him and catch him off guard and it's suggested that even though he's fast enough to dodge bullets he does not perceive things or process things as fast as a normal human.
6:34- Jill's survival is incredible yes, but it's likely that whatever they landed on Wesker took the full blunt of the impact since Jill was holding onto him from behind and that could explain why she wasn't killed on impact. Also, she survived because Wesker wasn't killed and gave her medical attention. But really? You're surprised Wesker survived?
6:43- Ok, that's a lot to unpack so strap in. 1st: Jill was presumed dead because the BSAA conducted a search for 3 months and found absolutely nothing. None of her personal effects or items and 3 months is a long time. Also another thing that could have factored in the conclusion that she was dead is where they landed. We don't get to see at all but it's possible there could have been a body of water where they landed and after 1st crashing into the presumed rock faces on the way down they could have landed in water and given the presumed thinking of those conducting the search they could have deemed it unlikely that Jill could have survived. Also taking into fact that Wesker basically takes Jill with him and rumors of her survival only start to surface about 3 years after the events of Lost in Nightmares It's not really a major stretch to understand why they concluded that she was dead. 2nd: I do agree that it was foolish of Chris to think that Wesker could have been killed in that fall, however, (and this leads to 3rd) as I mentioned before, their bodies were never recovered and Wesker in a sense went into hiding again and did not meet Chris again until 3 years later. Still foolish of Chris to think Wesker could have been killed, but I can see why he thought they were both dead.
7:35- Well, I can. Irving is a black market dealer and he was employed by Tricell. It's implied through the games files that Irving was the one who initially brought Las Plagas into Africa (though that seems unlikely). And he's done plenty in the game up to this point considering he unleashed 3 major BOW's that lead to the deaths of the Alpha and Delta teams.
7:44- Josh is by himself and he protects the boat due to it needing to be released from the port which Chris does in the cutscene when he and Sheva arrive. He is not directly attacked by Majinis, however, they are in the area and can easily overwhelm him. He's only armed with a handgun after all. It makes sense that he protects the boat while Chris and Sheva make their way to him.
7:56- We don't see that in cutscenes, however, there is such a thing as Autopilot. Even for boats.
7:57- You should care, since the Plaga that Irving injected himself with is an experimented dominant Plaga that causes an uncontrollable and extreme mutation in the host based on their will but it can also be affected by the environment.
8:06- Um yeah. It was either inject himself with that Plaga specimen or be arrested by the BSAA, or being killed. He was threatened by Jill and clearly had no intention of being taken in. Irving would be RE 5's version of Del Lago had he killed the agents.
9:11- I mean even the old Resident Evil games had giant or mutated versions of animals or reptiles. We've had spiders, dogs, sharks, fleas, bees, snakes, alligators, frogs, monkeys, a scorpion, a centipede, a bat, and the list goes on. What's the big deal about this game experimenting with that same formula or even adding more to it?
9:33- So the fact that Chris doesn't know the CEO of a division a company that helps fund the organization he works for is a huge issue? I really don't see why Chris should know this considering his position in the BSAA at the time the game is happening. And seriously why didn't she stop them from going on the mission in the 1st place? I won't go into the extreme details and lore, but I'll make it simple: There was more than enough evidence and intelligence gathered by the BSAA West African branch to warrant an investigation.
9:50- For Chris thinking that Wesker was dead, ok, I'll give you that one. But in Chris's defense, the reason he likely thought Wesker was dead was mostly because Wesker has not resurfaced at all in the 3 years between the events of what transpires at the Spencer estate and the events in Kijiuju. Since the BSAA could not find either Jill or Wesker's body after the fall, I can see why Chris thought that. I should also point out however, that you expressed surprise that Wesker survived that fall earlier, yet now are changing your stances on that.
10:06- Shit yeah, especially on Professional.
10:19- It's characterization my friend. That particular trait would be arrogance which is also very present with Wesker.
10:31- That seems to be the case based on the cutscenes, but in the gameplay in between you can either wait a full 7 minutes and he'll retreat automatically or you can beat the crap out of him and cause enough damage that he'll retreat before the 7 minute mark.
10:46- Not to be a pervert, but, FAN SERVICE!!
Since I ran out of space before and I still have more to clarify, here's more:
10:50- I remember my 1st Blackberry, and boy did it suck. That aside though, Albert Wesker is rich due to acquiring so many viral agents over the years and selling them to rival companies. He has many resources at his disposal. With that being said, he has custom equipment, and accessories. Knowing this and the custom phone that has a button that likely administers more of the drug controlling Jill isn't a major stretch to believe.
10:54- Not the way the game is presenting it. The drug that's being administered to Jill called P30 is a performance enhancing drug that augments the abilities of the user. Along with that, the user can be controlled. How exactly they are controlled isn't really explained even in the game's files, but it's pretty obvious that the drug just needs to be inside of the users bloodstream in order for their free will to be usurped. The device on her chest constantly administers P30 to keep Jill under control.
11:11- Not that I would know because I've never done any drugs my entire life, but I'm thinking that the effects of being suddenly cut off from P30 may have left Jill in a groggy state. We only see it from her perspective that she gets blurry vision which could imply a headache or dizziness. Reasons like this and believing she would only slow Chris and Sheva down are likely the reasons she talked Chris into going ahead without her. Also, the effects of P30 are temporary, so if you're implying that she still has those enhanced attributes she displayed during the boss fight, sorry, but no cigar.
11:37- ...See above...
12:10- Again, that's called characterization and that's consistent with his character.
12:36- And yet another character brimming with overconfidence and arrogance.
14:06- Capcom wouldn't kill off Jill just like that. I do agree that it would have more emotional weight, but I'd argue that it has just enough to make Chris want to take a drastic action to save his new partner. This strong sense of duty and protection especially carried over into RE 6 where Chris was the Captain and wanted to protect his team.
15:01- As far as I've seen going by the reception of this game, it was really RE 6 that had a more polarizing reception and really made Capcom put the brakes on the series. Sure, RE 5 started to accelerate the game's new way over the top action which eventually lead to RE 6, but RE 5 was much better well received critically and commercially over part 6.

I really liked the Co Op aspect in fact RE 5 was my in to the series. I also loved the boulder punch scene as absurd as it is after Hokuto Shinken ing our way through africa I never questioned the man's ability to move heavy objects thorugh concentrated strikes with his fists.

While change from 'survival horror' to 'action horror' might be seen as a bad thing, I considered it the logical progression of the series. You can't make protagonists *this* competent in combat situations and not change up the gameplay to show for it. 7 averts that by making the character no that good a fighter, but honestly, you cannot use the original cast and make a clunky game like RE1 and 2.
The fight with Wesker is indeed 7 minutes, unless you do enough damage it's shorter

Resident Evil 6 is a loooooot worse. I actually really enjoyed Resident Evil 5, but 6, ugh, and Operation Racoon City is worse than 5 as well, but 6 is still the worst.
Also, that first fight with Wesker can be won by hiding for 7 minutes, then he leaves. If you do enough damage to make him run away, he leaves behind a diamond for you to pick up during the Jill phase of the fight.

The gameplay was boring, the story was hard to follow, and the levels were too god damn long! We had to restart a few levels because one of us had to go and we were only halfway through a level. Plus a lot of the bosses were really dumb. BTW, if you hate the OG games, you are not a resident evil fan and your opinion is Invalid. Go back to COD and Battlefield.

RE5 was planned out differently before going co-op. Chris was supposed to be on his own against even more extreme odds than Leon. The blonde girl was supposedly going to be Sherry. You can look up the original trailers and see the tone shift.

There is also no way that Wesker would be able to launch the plane off the boat. There is just not enough room. Even B25s needed to be stripped down to take off from an aircraft carrier, and those are designed to launch aircraft.

Actually, Chris does have a pretty good track record with team survival.
He wasn't leading the STARS alpha or bravo teams, and of the only one of those teams he was on, only one member died.
Of the teams he has led, neither of them really lost members due to his actual leadership actions, and of his three known partners, nothing truly negative happened to one, he saved his long time partner, and the third, though a traitor, also had no negatives.
So, why does Chris has this reputation?

Funny part in about this game although this IS the Resident Evil universe and that it has gotten silly over the course of the newer games is how they make Wesker practically unstoppable in the cutscenes but in the game play he is the most blind and confused boss to fight. It makes you question how they beat him. If he performed like he did in the cutscenes you'd have 1 dead Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar easily. This sinning video was long overdue but overall I'd say RE6 was hands down the worst RE title and those sins pretty much nailed the game perfectly...Of course RE5 has a lot of silly in it. XD

Wesker was so unstoppable the devs had to do something really stupid to kill him. A volcano where he infects himself with Ouroboros, knowing that it's weak to heat. Like, come on.
Still good game tho, better than RE6. Maybe plot and dialogues is stupid and there's some storyline gaps, but graphics and gameplay is dope, that's my opinion. I don''t know why you struggled in second Ouroboros boss fight. Part with lickers, mutated Excella and with these fucking mutated insects in ship was the hardest things in whole game.

RE5 is fun once you learn how to deal with the AI (dont blame sheva she's just being controled by the AI, if you play with her in a second run, you'll see that), most of the time you should just give her the eletric stick and make her carry your stuff while you do the fighting.
I agree that some battles are just insane to do with the AI (not only sheva's AI), but we have the rocket laucher for that.
I replayed this game at least 20 times, the combat is really good and it's super fun to play with someone else. (just don't play in professional mode if you wanna have a good time with your friend).
Also, professional mode just make you say wtf most of the time and requires a lot of restarts, i would recomend watching how some guys do in speedruns and apply that to your game, it really saves you from a lot of trouble.
Prof mode is bullshit, if you get hit you basically have to play without healing items because by the time you heal them the health bar is gone.

I thought RE5 was a great game. I had a ton of fun with it and beat it several times. People seem fixated on the "it's not RE". Fine, whatever, it's still a great game though.
It's a good action game but a bad Resident Evil game. The plot is terrible, but all plots in all RE's are. But you are right, the game is fun and that is what counts.

Chris loses every team he gets but somehow has continued to be assigned teams for him to destroy anyway
Actually enjoyed this game, i would like to point out that the flower that all the virus came from was already well established in RE lore before RE5 its where the progenitor virus comes from and every virus (T.G and C) are all derived from the Progenitor virus . so as much as i enjoy your videos i would say you have no right to sin games when you have no understanding of the lore
