  • This buttery 24k gold ring weighs 3.79g. I made this ring by hand in my workshop. I hope you enjoy listening to me talk about it!
This ring is available on my Etsy shop (until it's not available).

Love this. Would love to see a 1 oz bracelet like Dillon Gage used to make. p.s. You should stamp with 9999

You're right, I should remember to stamp... I always get so carried away with the process and I forget.

I just tried fusing a gold ring. That is not for the faint of heart.

      Did you succeed?!

@@mustachemetalworks -- Sort of. The flecks of gold on the seam melted and flowed but almost instantly the ring itself kind of slumped right next to the seam. I suspect it's because I was using a small hot flame too aggressively. I'll try again tomorrow.

@@mustachemetalworks -- I really don't want to use solder on my gold. If I don't contaminate the base metal, I'll be able to do projects over and over.

@@mustachemetalworks -- Success! I first made a very tight, no-gaps seam in the ring. Then I took a tiny wafer of really thin gold ribbon I had made, and barely opened the gap enough to slip it in. I slowly heated the ring first, then the seam area, back and forth until that wafer liquefied. I put it on my mandrel and had no problem shaping it; the seam didn't sproing open or fail. Now it's in my rock tumbler to get a little more work hardening.
Thanks for your videos! They really helped me a lot, especially the tip on saving gold scraps in strawberry jam jars.

It's a gimmick to get you to ask about the popcorn seeds

@@mustachemetalworks Understandable. Also I’d think many people make jewelry from bullions or bars, many are made from Australia
