well the ring itself is worth $1540 at current gold price, the $5000 comes up nowhere the 150g of gold used in the pour have a value $8253, so no idea where the $5000 comes from if he charges 3.5k for the manufacturing i would never buy anything there

Secondly, when casting, have the vacuum pulling first, then poor the molten metal. Third, when breaking the plaster by putting it in water, you can just dunk it straight in water, if you've waited about 5-10 min after casting ( to make sure the metal isn't red hot and so malleable. Fourth and last. I would not recommend making something out of 24kt gold... its way way to soft to be a proper piece of jewelry. Make it 20kt, 18kt that's fine, but 24 is to soft. ( tips and rants from a jewelry student)

Great movie and great skills. Only thing i would buy if i were you is a gimbal. It would give you the great smooth panning around the ring/object that you try to film. It's a bit shaky now :)

Dont know if it's possible but could you use orange glowing paint carefully painted into the lettering so at night it make it look like the ring after Gandalf throws it in the fire
That's just shy of $1,600 worth of gold left in the ring at the end. Looks nice, you should put some glow powder or something in the letters to really make it look authentic.
I watch videos like this to relax, because I have high anxiety! The product is amazing and I love the craftsmanship, but the song in the background just made me more anxious..
The gold doesn't melt it. The gold burns and vaporizes it. Some of it becomes the smoke coming off the whole thing, some of it becomes ash on the inside of the mold.
Now I just wondering what's the price value for this Ring after you had made it. I mean it took $5,000 gold worth to make this Ring. But after you took out the excess gold is it still cost $5,000? Or more?
Good thing you're using one of those printers indeed, anything else would have been instant crappy lettering on the ring most likely. Still thinking pooring that is gonna be hard, doubt it'll really form really well. And engraving to take more out is easier than adding onto it i am guessing. 150 grams, damn that is a lot. Made a broche myself, yellow gold pentagram with square wire with a white golden plate in a sort of tri nove thing with 3 rubies set in it. That bastard is like 12 grams, and that's heavy. Of course it was more, some loss of the place, plus cutout, plus some leftover wire. But i didn't have to poor that myself to make those thankfully.
An awesome demonstration of how to cast using resin printers. But I think the only chance to see a One Ring done as described / depicted would require a plain ring with filigree laser etching so fine it's practically holographic.

Heating it with such a high temperature, most probably it was evaporated and the gold has filled its empty space.
