Me too, plenty of old bags for teachers. Stood up the 9 kids who had the lowest grades, pointed out that they were all boys. Very very clearly pointed out that the worst performing students were boys in front of everyone. 1 was a girl she was just too excited to notice. Somehow she couldn't put one and 2 together that maybe the gender that tends to you know build almost everything might not too well being shoved into a classroom to do theory all day and be taught in a system that clearly doesn't work as well for boys to learn. This old crone was just getting her little slice of revenge on the men she knew personally and the monolithic group she call men that she knows politically.

In middle school and high school, I had more male teachers than I had female teachers. As a I teenaged girl, having males teachers had a positive impact on not just me, but my classmates as well. The male teachers were not only more likable to their students, but they were more understanding, passionate about teaching and caring. As someone who grew up with both parents in the household, I thought I didn't need a positive male role model in my life because I already had one at home. But boy, was I wrong! It turns out, my dad wasn't the positive male role model I thought he was. I think male (very well trusted and monitired!) members of society should have influence ( scouts hiking fishing etc) but not be the main teacher only. Again its like 2 parents both give you the duality of masculinity and femininity to create an equal balance.

Whenever I think about it: its not natural to give your children to a group of foreign women to take care of them while you are working for 8 hours to put food on the table. I mean in the past we had small villages or tribes, where the physical fit would go hunting, but everyone else was taking care of the children who couldnt take part in the hunt and they all were a big family

Honestly, I like this idea. I had a male kindergarten teacher, but as a female, it was quite awkward, and I was often uncomfortable talking to him. I don't know why, however. We had normal 5 yo talking to 20 yo conversations. It was just always weird explaining to him what I can and can't do. We would often try to beat the boys in push-up competitions, and he would encourage the girls and humble the boys when they lost. Like I said, reminiscing it shouldn't have been as weird, but just his presence sometimes made me uncomfortable because I felt like I couldn't tell him everything or get close enough to talk to him a lot.

Schools are a vital part in a childs upbringing and development (by choice & force of the governmant since you are obligated to go and they take up a significant amount of time). Many many children are, for whatever reason, being raised without a father/fatherfigure in the picture and male teachers can assist and help that immensely. Obviously no one expects a male teacher to teach anything beyond the curriculum bit the experiences matter very much. It just provides you with someone to look up to.
Also according to my experience male teschers were always the favourites and praised by both girls and boys. Schools are governed by women in most cases (this is also true if the headmaster male since what matters are the teachers) and … here‘s where it brought us. All I‘m saying is we need more male teachers everywhere including kindergardens.

Why does there HAVE to be anymore of anything? Equality is desirable but not necessarily equality. Allow the same barrier of entry for everyone and allow people the freedom to do whatever they are good at and enjoy. If men don’t want to be school teachers and women don’t want to be fighter pilots then more power to them.

I actually thought about being a male kindergarten teacher or working at a daycare before, but I’m not about to be getting accused lol. I absolutely adore kids, I partly raised my niece, and I’ve always been praised for lack of a better term, for my patience with kids in general. But I’m fine not doing that. I love kids, but I just can’t risk it. I mean I’ve heard things about men getting side eyes and dirty looks from the female teachers, saying he touched a kid I think. I’m good without all that. If it was more welcoming by society then yeah, but some people genuinely don’t want men around their kids. Can I blame them for the paranoia? No, society constantly talks about male pedos and such (despite how many cases there are of female teachers raping their male students) but it just sucks ya know

Anyone in teaching would agree, it's important to have some male teachers. We need male teachers in early education too.
However convincing the men to actually want to do that is a big problem, possibly because the income for on education teachers has dropped along with the rise women as vast majority of teacher.
Diversity goes both ways. That's why it matters in important and impressionable fields.

I had 2 male teachers in primary school and 3 or 4 in highschool and yes the male teachers were less abusive and much easier to engage with meaning we all learned more due to being actively engaged in the class. I've only ever been bullied and belittled by my female teachers. I was a good student too. I might have been a bit of a social justice warrior but that was a stage I've grown out of lol. Realising the world owes you nothing was a good start.

I strongly believe that women are more suited to educat and caring for children around infentsy to at least 3 years old. I would even argue 8 years old at the hi end. Because children's "core" identity is finished at that age. However, I agree with the statement that we need more male teachers for the boys
