I know TS is synonymous with Pixar, but I do wish they'd break from it to focus on their newer properties (whether making sequels or just completely new films).
@@JoshuaLowe-ci3wo Yeah, but those were earlier in the decade. Disney literally does not have any announced original films under production at the moment.
Maybe woody won't be back permanently and instead is only back just to help the main characters in some way, otherwise toy story 4's ending would have been for nothing. I mean i'd like to think that the characters visit eachother sometimes
honestly i think there's so much potential for toy story as a franchise if they stop focusing on the same characters. i think it would be interesting to see a story about tamagotchi-like devices or a young adult with an anime figure collection. hell even a story about everyday objects that were perceived as toys and how the love from a human being can transform something so mundane into a beloved object what they're doing right now is constantly adding onto the story of woody, buzz, etc, which is a story that should have ended with 3. i'm not interested anymore in seeing the same characters go through hell and back in another sequel,,,,
The ideas are not bad, especially that of objects considered as toys, the main problem is that they cannot be marketed. Woody and Buzz have become the face of Toy Story, so I think it will remain the same group in the future too.
I’m not jumping the gun whether it’ll be good or bad. But with Andrew Stanton’s involvement as writer and director, Toy Story 5 better be good! I care for Pixar too much to see them mess up.
@@danmulholland1634 I like Toy Story more than Shrek as well. But I'll believe in Shrek 5 being unnecessary when we see what they have up their sleeve plot wise.
The thing is, the Toy Story franchise already did this in a short. Toy Story That Time Forgot already existed back in 2014, so how will they do the same plot without feeling over bloated?
Here's what I think Toy Story 5 should also tackle, 'what happens when a human discovers that a toy can be alive?' Maybe Woody could reunite with Andy who accidentally discovers that Woody has been alive this whole time, he's understandably freaked out at first, but they team up one last time to take down the perennial main villain, but sadly Woody discovers that there's no real change and kids still use technology and iPads, so he goes off on his own adventure, reuniting with Bo, and they start a family with each other and an adopted kid toy, Jessie becomes the official sheriff, and Buzz takes up a leader role with Jessie, ending all the main characters' arcs

Toy Story 5, does seem interesting because of them conflicting with modern technology. It would be nice to tell modern kids there is more to life than electronics. I hope it will be the ending.
Apart from how Toy Story is known to be a beloved Pixar franchise, not to mention the third and fourth movie has won an Oscar, and just like with Elio and Hoppers (although I can tell this might not be Pixar's best original idea since they've already done a person becoming an animal thing), I'm a little worried about how the fifth movie will turn out. Okay, this is why many people can't stand one of those cash grabbers, in other words like Monster's University, Toy Story 5 might be unnecessary, even after Lightyear failed miserably, and I really don't want this to be another franchise going horribly wrong, like what they did with Cars since the second movie actually caused the downfall to Pixar.
while like most people I think the Toy Story franchise should've ended after the 3rd one the 5th one has an interesting premise and for what its worth I'm pretty sure the kid under the sheets is Bonnie actually what I'm wondering is is Bo peep gonna figure into this or will this sequel treat her how cars 3 treated Holly shiftwell?
My two cents, rusty and out of date: the "toys-technology" conflict is very prone to falling into indifference. Both because technology has become a very important resource, and because the use of the latter as a recreational activity has been cleared compared to only 20 years ago (when institutions wondered whether video games made people become sociopaths), and because it should be a a little to clash with the character of Buzz, who is a toy yes... but electronic. Technically then, this clash already happened in the second film: Stinky Pete was the analog stuffed toy who didn't want to come to terms with a different company, which had produced electronic toys. Although disguised as a conflict between westerns and the space race, that was the gist. In short, if this were the macro-theme of the next film, it would be quite banal, also because there are still many children who play with physical toys even though they have reached 9-10 years of age, so the conflict would have to be addressed very carefully. Finally, I have to agree with those who say they are tired of always remaining anchored to the same characters, although I understand that we will find them forever as protagonists of a brand called "toy story", given that they have become the faces of the saga itself, and I don't think they will want invest time and resources to create new protagonists to take over from Woody and Buzz.
