In elementary school I was only attracted to girls. In Junior high school I was secretly crossdressing at home when nobody was around by wearing my stepmom's clothes. In my early 20s I moved out of my parents house and started crossdressing in public by myself. After doing this for awhile I wanted to be more like a woman so, I started looking at guys and liked what I saw and I became bicurious. I still labeled myself as straight with myself and others. When I was in my early 30s my girlfriend out of nowhere texted me, "just come out of the closet." I thought about what she said and the next day I texted her and told her I'm bisexual. She said she knew I was. She helped me realize I was in denial and that I was hiding my sin and that I didn't want to be a part of the LGBT community. I'm in my mid 40s now and last year I came out of the closet to my parents, brothers, and sister and told them I'm a monogamous bisexual and that my girlfriend helped me to be completely done with crossdressing when I was in my early 30s.
Being curious about your attraction towards a person of the opposite sex should actually be entitled bi-confirming. In this heteronormative society, labeling oneself as being attracted to someone of a sex other than what you're expected to be attracted to is taboo, hence being 'curious' is safe....which is sad and doing oneself an injustice. I've known my attraction towards males haa existed since my early teens, but there was no way that i could ever label myself as being gay or bisexual... because it just wasn't who i was expected to be. I've only recently acknowledged my truth and accepted my 'label' as bisexual, which I totally love and am comfortable with. Now its just everyone else who has to join me in my truth, but that's not so easy. I'm working on that one person at a time.
Something I'm wondering is...due to heteronormativity almost everyone is assumed to be straight until proven otherwise. So this bicurious term is used for people who are exploring a kind of homossexual attraction. But for me it was more about straightcurious, since I always knew I liked other women 😀😅

Makes sense. I guess that's why I hope one day we can just say "curious", you know? But heteronormativity make that pretty difficult 🩷🩷
Straight curious? I like that.
All bi curious people are really alnost exclusively homosexual. How come we never hear gay people being bi curious 🤔??
