  • Throughout your lifetime, have you ever wondered the meaning behind bisexuality? Being bisexual means being attracted to more than just one sex or gender. In a lot of cases, bisexuality can be explained in many types. Depending on the context, some may include pansexual, gender fluid, or omnisexual as equivalent as bisexuality as well.

Before I realized that I was lesbian, I came out as bisexual and my parents questioned me severely. They asked me if I get the same feeling towards girls as I do boys and I said “no”. They told me it was just a phase, or “puberty”, even though I already went through puberty. Every time I would bring the topic up, or I would just talk about my love life, they would always explain on how I’ll “never find love as good as a boy”, or “boys are more reliable and it’s more natural”. My parents force me to go to church everyday and they like to “pray for me to be straight”. I 100% understand the struggles and I would like to say that even if they don’t support you, or they are rude towards you, doesn’t mean that you deserve it. You are wonderful and special and if they think that you aren’t then, that’s their problem. Be proud 💖💜💙! Have an amazing day/night!

I am bisexual and I’m gonna share my experiences here :)
I started thinking about sexuality around the age of 9 I think. I first thought I was always heterosexual until I really started to question it.
It can be a bit hard to actually find out what you are (at least it was a bit for me..). I thought about it for a while and came to the conclusion that I’d have no problem dating a woman or a man.
First of all….You don’t need experience! I once had a conversation that went kinda like this, my friends and I were talking about sexuality’s and I mentioned that I’m bi. One of them asked if I had already dated a girl/boy. I said no and then they replied to me that I can’t know my sexuality yet if I didn’t have any experience. Of course experience can be a good way to find out your sexuality but it’s different from person to Person.
Coming out was also never a problem for me. My friends and my family don’t really care about a persons sexuality. We were at dinner and I suddenly just said that I’m bi and my mom just replied with „cool, ok.“ and that’s it.
Im sorry If it isn’t as easy for you. Always take your time with it!

Heres a reason why bisexuals wont cheat.
So, imagine you’re a straight man who is attracted to blondes and brunettes. You have all females who are blonde or brunette as options. Now, lets say you’re in love and in a relationship with a blonde woman. You love her, but you still could be attracted to brunette woman, but that doesnt mean you necessarily are, because you’re in a relationship. This also applies to bisexuals and their options, ANYONE can cheat, not just bisexuals just because they have a larger spectrum of genders they can be attracted to.

I am a bisexual young woman, & I was also born with " high" functioning autism too. And for the longest time I was very confused & frustrated at myself for wanting to find a female partner just literally because I knew that I did had a lot of crushes on a lot of boys too ever since when I was a 6 year old little girl. And I am now 22 but going to be turning 23 like in the next four months right until now which is actually going to be on the 9th of August & I grew up in a heavily homophobic environment too, like ever since when I was in high School too & so I was also very afraid about the whole possibly of being a "Lesbian"person too. I've always accepted myself for being very attractive to both men's & women's just literally because I did found it easier these days now just literally because the world is (or at least feels) more acceptable of LGBTQ+ People. PS I am a girl. So glad that I really found this video very interesting & very helpful indeed.

I know first hand how bisexual men are not as accepted as bisexual women. My wife was kind and accepting with her words but not celebrating my courage as much I did for her. She is still struggling with understanding how to navigate her feelings as she does not find two men engaged in sex as attractive. I have struggled with depression and not liking myself with huge fears of rejection. I’m lesbian and my girlfriend is bisexual
All you need is trust and some homosexuals are scared that their partners would leave them for the opposite sex or some problems but overall it always comes to a person’s trust issues
I trust my girlfriend more than anyone in this world and being bisexual or lesbian/gay/pan/name it, it doesn’t matter.
When you love someone, you love that person only and it’s all that matters

@@thesuperkplesbofanhithere3118 having trust issues shouldn’t be an excuse to be blatantly biphobic, though
and, in itself, the assumption that bisexuals will leave you for the opposite sex due to their attraction to both genders is once again inherently biphobic and adds on to the stereotype that bi people are cheaters, yknow?
it’s fine to be a little on edge about it, but assuming and or fearing that a bisexual will cheat on you and leave you for the opposite sex (or same sex) isnt the best assumption at all and contributes to the mass biphobia found in homosexuals
also, please don’t think that we're saying all homosexuals are biphobic and that we’re putting them in the same boat, because we’re not-; it’s just a lot easier to say ‘homosexual’ than ‘a minority of homosexuals’ or ‘some homosexuals’ because im sure anyone with common sense would understand that we clearly don’t mean all homosexuals lol

@@Atlas-bd9jh i know that it’s not an excuse 😂 jeez
I was just thinking about reasons why they would not accept bisexuals or even recognize them, I have no idea why besides the fact that they would be scared to be cheated on or something.
And i’m just saying that for SOME people, it can be the trust issues
Like seriously I just don get it and it’s messed up because then the message “love is love” don’t make sense no more

I wasn’t putting all of the bisexuals in the boat too just so you know lol

also, gender doesn't equal pronouns, for example you could be agender and still use she/her or he/him. they/them is also used and is a gender neutral option that anyone can use. there are also neopronouns, some common ones are it/its, xe/xem, ze/zem, ze/zyr, and fae/faer. neopronouns are used kn the same way as she/her, he/him, or they/them.

Just so you guys know, Bisexuality isn't just attraction to just cis men and cis women. Back when Bisexuality was first created, in 1998, it just meant "attraction to just men and women" because other gender identities didn't exist. The definition has now changed to simply mean "attraction to more than one sex or gender" to be more inclusive. Bisexuality has always included trans and nonbinary people. It can mean attraction to as many genders as you like! There is also a Bisexual Manifesto, written by Bisexuals to define the label. And for those Biphobes that're gonna use the Google definition to disprove what I'm saying, Google states Bisexuality as "sexually or romantically attracted to both men and women, or to more than one sex or gender." There are more genders other than cis men and cis women.

One thing people often get confused on when they talk to me (I'm openly bi, and it's kinda obvious😅) is preferences. I'm more often attracted to men, but the attraction I feel towards women is deeper, more meaningful. People like to take this as "Well, if you're more often attracted to men then you're straight". Yeah, no. I like both. Please accept that and don't try to categorize me as something I'm not. I'm just me

My story as a bisexual person is quite interresting since I'm transgender.
At first I was seen as hetero while passing for male, then as lesbian as I transitionned into my true woman self but in the end I figured out a few years ago I've always been bisexual but would'nt admit it to myself and others in my "male personna" cuz the stigmas seems worse for male bisexual than female.
Even my mother does'nt seem to bother that much about my bisexuality (she wasted all her worrying and grief learning I was trans so that second coming out passed far more smoothly for her and pretty much everyone).

My friend came out as bi, and I was a bit confused. This informed me of what this is. Thanks. Edit: To give a bit more context, I have been friends with this kid for 5 years. Not too long, but I consider him a pretty close friend. I won't give his name, so for now I'll just call him "Toby" because he has a striking resemblance to Toby Maguire. One day, I went to his parent's house to ask if he'd come out to talk or whatever I said. He came out, and we just talked a bit and we just shared stuff about our pets doind stupid things, or our siblings being annoying, or something along the lines of that. Eventually the conversation took an unexpected turn when Toby said he was bisexual. Yeah, it really doesn't sound believable that he would just say it like that but I'm being honest here. I stayed silent for a minute, because I had no idea what that meant. Toby broke the silence and kind of explained it. (He never told his parents this at the time I was the only person to know) All I really understood is that he liked females, and males. NGL I was a bit disgusted because at the time I knew nothing and basically didn't get the concept of gay, lesbian, bi, e.t.c. I didn't get it. Someone I'd known for years was...Bisexual? As you can probably imagine I didn't take it very well. I got pretty goddamn angry and lashed out. I stormed off. A month later I came back to apologise but he wouldn't answer me. I can't mend my friendship with Toby, but maybye informing myself and taking the time to learn more can prevent something like this in the future. If Toby is reading this and somehow recognises my name or this story, then I'm sorry. I'm truly, truly sorry. I hope you have a good life ahead of you, and that you succeed. Goodbye.
