    I use chemical guys compounds for cutting and buffing # 32, 34, 36 and 38. 32 being the most aggressive 38 being more of a polish and have used these on my belt moldings and around the door glass and has worked great by simply putting a little on a rag and rubbing back and forth folding the rag as it gets dirty I've used it on others vehicles to and no need in worrying about any chemicals screwing up the paint because its made for paint... when finished just wipe the entire piece with a clean rag, i use those cheap micro fiber rags from harbor freight... also this works great on glass. I use this on all my glass on my truck to get all the water spots off then spray it with rain x

    I bought the Automotive Goo Gone based on, however, the label states not for rubber????? I'm pretty sure my trim issue is made of rubber. . . .any advise?

      I had tried everything I could think of to get my trim looking better and this worked for me. Note, I did wash it well after and then used protectant on it. Many miles & over a year later it still looks good, BUT please don't use the Goo Gone if you think it may damage your trim. Maybe try just the Dawn soap first.

      YEAH, don't use goo gone on your weatherstripping!! 303 aerospace protectant is best!! Silicone free product which is what you want.

    I dont think youre supposed to put goo gone on rubber. Chemical guys has an oil remover for plastics and rubber.

    I just found your video. I looked up magic erasers, but all were sponge like materials. Is the sponge eraser ok to use ? I have the same type of staining on rubber around rear side windows. What is the name brand you would recommend? Also , after cleaning rubber, what type of coating is good to apply to bring back some shine and not let rubber dry out as fast . Thanks

      The magic eraser is made by Mr. Clean. They should have them at Home Depot or a grocery store:-)

    Can this remove overspray clearcoat as well off plastic/rubber weatherstrip window trims?

    • @Pondsisawesome124
      @Pondsisawesome124  11 месяцев назад

      Possibly, really depends on how heavy the overspray is and how well it stuck to the trim. Trying it shouldn’t hurt

    These rubber seals last a long time.
    I personally wouldn't be to bothered about
    restoring them as you're more than likely
    going to shorten the life span of them...
    also i've never notice rubber seals on a
    vehicle unless im stood next to it... the first
    thing i notice when a car drives past is the
    colour, make & model. 2nd is wheels. 3rd is
    any modifications (spoiler, window tints, skirts, bumper extensions etc...) 4th depending on how fast it drives past is whoever is in the car. 5th is the vehicle following behind it...
    no one ever notices the rubber seals!!!
    If you attend car shows i sort of get it but
    don't waste your money or time!!!

    Will this remove small scratches on the rubber trim around the windows? Thanks :) Also should I use dawn + magic eraser or goo gone and magic eraser?

    • @Pondsisawesome124
      @Pondsisawesome124  2 года назад

      This should remove small imperfections, dawn or goo gone should work just fine however goo gone is a little more aggressive and should work better - always test a small inconspicuous area first!

      @@Pondsisawesome124 it worked for stains, small scratches and polish compound residues but now i got some small micro scratches all over the weatherstrips is there a way to remove those, or i pushed too hard on the magic eraser?? Thanks

      You could remove the door panel to get the whole thing clean or just use regular cleaners.

    I experienced a volcanic eruption in 2020 and the volcanic ash destroyed all my window weather strips and rubbers.
    My car is a 2007 toyota blade and it is hard to find replacements. I am looking for DIY fixes. Any tip will be appreciated.
    I will provide a contact detail once you indicate...
