This may not be for everyone, but if you are looking to save money whether you’re in the business already; or looking to get in the business.. this may be helpful. THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE!! Leave some comments on what you think of this lifestyle
If you can justify it so be it. I get some shades to cover the windows for all around privacy when you sleep.
My dad once told me 'Never be ashamed of what you're doing unless you're stealing from someone.' Nevermind ppl giving u surprised looks, the ironic thing is I'm pretty sure ur making more than the peeps around u.. even that Prime driver beside your box-truck lol. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Wishing u blessings on the road.
Get you a windshield sun blocker for at night when you sleep and the side curtains for the windows. $20 for all at Wal-Mart and 100% privacy.

Get your Pilot/Flying J card and get your free showers once you fuel
Great advice because I haven’t paid for a shower all year.I have 18 free showers on my pilot app now 😎
Fax
Hard to get free showers when only getting 30-40 gallons at a time
@@truckingempire563 exactly. You only get a free shower at Pilot/Flying J when you get a minimum of 50 gallons, at TA/Petro minimum gallons is 60!
@@Kevo1993 yep, you get one after you fuel up like 3 times in a box truck but its still frustrating
He has a video where a DOT official specifically speaks & ok’d sleeping in a Box Truck. 100% LEGAL
Can you share a link to that video?
Thank you for making these videos keep up the great work it helps a lot with my questions I have.
I’m about to start Sunday I appreciate this video 💯 I thought it was just me but you pretty much hit everything on the head for me that I was unsure of. Thanks frfr you helped me out more then you know. Bless up

Great info to inspire new box truck owners Thanks BRO.
I have access to Amazon relay and I am a box truck owner. Pulling over on the side of the road to get some rest is highly preferable for any law enforcement versus a driver falling asleep on the road and causing an accident. It might be illegal but in this case common sense is more important. That's why you always see signs on the side of the freeway lit up saying if you feel drowsy pull over and rest. This reminds me of like the tinted window laws you can take your windows lightly and no one's going to pull you over for that reason. The law is there but it's not an enforced 100%. So if you're a box truck driver feel free to pull over on the side of the freeway on a exit not on the shoulder and bring attention to yourself and by any means get some rest. This law is not enforced 100% unless there is an inspection right there and then the officer will probably bring it up to your attention but I'm almost 100 % he is not going to dig on why you're resting on the side of the road. Just show him your log book which he will last for and that's it.
Keep grinding brother!!! Safe travels brother

Shout out to Nebraska. That’s where I’m from. I’ve been thinking about getting into this box truck business but I don’t wanna do otr. Hopefully I can find something that allows me to feed and see my family every night.
Thx bro last night was my first night in the truck, no more inns for PuremomentumLlc

Bro dope idea but to block the windows buy multiple sun visors and put them up thats how I do it works great
Hats off to you bro make your money 💪🏼 minded
Cali DOT told me about the issues with sleeping in box truck but didnt tell me it was illegal. He did ask and show concern about proper rest and i told him i couldnt speak for others but i sleep just perfect! On average i do stay in a hotel once a week but ill stay in my box truck during a whole reset because im comfortable.
You grinding Gee good job man
My guy. Got too bro.
Awesome Video! Thank you for the knowledge that you shared. Looks like this will be my next adventure. Where do park your truck when your home? If you pay, how much is it per month?

Keep bringing the content, definitely helpful/useful. I'm also in the DMV area, is there good work up and down the East Coast or Down South
For sure bro. And that’s wassup, love to see people from the hometown get out here. And yeah it’s good loads coming out of the north east region and also down south.

Great content! I had a question because it cut off when you were talking about running your ac. How long do you keep it running? Doesn’t it spend a lot of fuel? I’m down in South GA and it’s smoking down here! Thinking of going over the road but can’t figure out what to do about sleeping in truck with all the heat
them shower shoes was a MUST!!!!
Salute to you bro
savage bro !
tks for sharing !
You already know
Thanks men!
Diggin your spread a lil more privacy and you definitely in there!! One question. If you need to have maintenance done do you go to were you rent anywhere they have a location in the country and thank you
Respect ✊
I feel you, but sleeping in the truck not for me, I tried to do it for a lay over on a run for a few hours and I'm not going to be able to do it. I even got the dog bed you suggested, that is comfortable, but that bench not enough room, I'm going to have to count the room as part of doing business.
Gotta do what you gotta do to get sleep and maximize your miles but bro dont get caught look up that fine and theyll shut you down and assume everytime you were off duty on your logs that you slept in your truck.. you get log violation, sleeper violation and theyll tell you that you cant move your truck until you complete a full reset even if you dont need a resrt
Will definitely keep that in mind. Gonna be more careful and aware. Appreciate that.
Thank you so very much
Bro, window shades for windows and I know you're carrying, hopefully.
New sub.great video
New to loves i see lol. You can get the loves app and check in so you don't have to wait inside for your turn. Idk if you can pay tho. I always got shower credits
I totally enjoyed the video man. It was very informative. I'm a retired truck driver who has been running a dispatch service for the past year, now we are about to branch out into the owner operator business hope to be up and running by Sept -Oct. So I have a question for you, did you guys lease or did you buy your truck. Thinking about buying, but maybe it's better to test the waters first and lease before making a commitment. What's your view?
I'd appreciate your input since you've been out there.
Dhae
Glad you found it useful. So I bought my truck (finance). The money is out here if you’re willing to travel and not be home every night. It just depends on what your goal is to gross and your expenses. Leasing or even renting isn’t a bad idea because you get to see if you like the rates / money and you’re not locked in on a truck note. Long term it doesn’t make sense to rent because the rates are terrible.. But the overall goal is to have multiple drivers and trucks. So that’s the goal I’m trying to get to as fast as I can. But if you have it in you to get out here and get this money, I say buy your own if you can
Sleeping in your truck is illegal. If a DOT inspector catches you, you will be hit with a heavy fine. If you were involved in any kind of accident, the prosecution will subpeona your HOS logs and expense records -- if you don't have a hotel receipt to prove you got the proper amount of rest (outside the truck) you will be sued and your insurance company will have a reason to not indemnify you. You would have to pay the entire damage bill out of your own pocket. It's not worth it! If you want to avoid hotel costs, you have to get a truck with a legal sleeper berth.
I was unaware of that and appreciate the information.
Good looking out, I was gonna mention the same thing.. but it's all good, we're all still growing and learning... be safe guys, peace
That's so true. If an inspector sees you parked there they're going to automatically give you a fine because they know hat truck doesn't have a legal sleep berth. Stay safe & Good luck out there.
Honestly, I think you worried about the wrong sh!t he should be just fine. Where’s he gonna get a box truck that has a sleeper seeing how crazy the truck market is at this moment. Pray for the better not the worst buddy....👨🏼🦳
@@christinanomah8754 You really don't understand the level of fines everyone else is referring to, I'm going to post this here in an article that I found, because this can be considered falsifying logs:
4. False logs
Falsification of logs is a common driver violation that regularly appears as one of the top three violations during the annual International Roadcheck.
Falsifying logs is a critical violation that can put drivers out-of-service. The violation has a severity weight of 7. According to the updated penalty schedule5, knowingly falsifying records may lead to a penalty of up to $12,695.
During the International Roadcheck 20194, 14.7 percent of drivers were placed out-of-service because of falsified log books.
Notice that could be up to a 12,000 dollar fine. If a DOT inspector ever does a logbook inspection, and he sees sleeper berth, the first thing he is going to ask, how are you logging sleeper berth and the truck doesn't have a sleeper. Next, if he logs off duty, they are going to ask where is he taking his time off duty, is it hotels? Ok, let me see the hotel receipts, if no receipts are available or it can't be proven, that's a falsified log, which can result in huge fines. This is just the beginning, they could throw the book at him with every violation they could find, and literally put him out of business with the fines along. DOT is nothing to play with, think it's a joke if you want to.
Get your money bro and stay safe
Grinding at its finest, if you know you know, its a rare few that can grind on this level, I did over the road in a box truck for 6 months and I learned a lot. And your grind is even more severe than mine because I was fucking with them hotels lol. Keep grinding bro, I'm proud of you. Brothers don't understand the bag 💰 that they missing out on....
Appreciate that bro, for real 🤝. Yeah man I gotta different motor in me lol. I’ve had to grind my whole life, so this shit ain’t nothing new bro. It’s money out here to get. People just gotta come get it.

At least you should spend some money on window privacy shades, Great video!
Bra seem hella truthful
I be doing the same sometimes the truckers come to me asking me if I'm going be there all night or getting mad because I'm the only boxtruck
I get the the savings on sleeping in your truck but that’s a business expense that can be written off.
Great video I appreciate the video. New sub here
Appreciate that big dawg 🤝
Thanks for sharing. Good tips.
Hey brotha, loving the content btw.. was wondering how much capitalwould you recommend having for purchasing my first truck? & should i finance/ pay cash/ or rent?
What’s going on bro. Really just depends on your financial situation. It’s always good to pay cash for anything lol but trucks are expensive as hell. Financing would be better tho. Stay away from renting. Also if you have the cash and not the credit, I can help you get financed. Just hit me on ig
Much respect on the grind. Slept in a box truck before and definitely couldn't do it every night. Is your brother still out there with you?
appreciate that. no, he in the process of getting his own truck
What do you recommend about remodeling sleeper?
What about in the winter how do yo keep warm?
Question do you let your box truck running while you sleep?
Just keep work and get you a semi
My box truck came with a sleeper in it
I would definitly cover all your windows for many reasons...wake up sweating because morning sun, privacy, if the hookers see you they'll come a knocken. Ask someone here to help but what i use, keeping in mind on my box-van is from Walmart white boards made of cardboard for the sides & Walmart windshield Sun -visors (truck version) Good luck Brother. Respect from Ohio
appreciate that. definitely on it
Whatever you need to do to pay the bills buddy!
I recently got hired as a box truck driver. I start around the 23rd of January. I’m really nervous though because I’ve never drove that much or cross country. Do you recommend it and is there any advise you can give y before I first trip? Sincerely, Brian!👍
6:40 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I needed that laugh bro
lol I ain’t know where I was goin bro
I imagine it would be easier parking a box truck at the truck stop compared to a semi.
Maannn, negotiate to compensate. Most loads will be in your possession no more than 4 days at the most. Negotiate for $400 more. I’m getting hotels nightly and still doing good. It s not as bad as it seems. NEGOTIATE TO COMPENSATE
I agree it's not a waste of money you have to think about you safety and health you need to sleep in a bed you are going to burn yourself out you work hard not to deserve a 50 dollar motel and get a hot shower sit at a table and eat and go from the shower to the bed trust me it's worth in the long run even if you don't do it every night
Great idea but bad advise. If you’re driving a box truck. Do Not and I repeat, Do Not take the chance and get caught by a DOT compliance officer sleeping in it especially out here in California. You’ll be done!!! $80 to $100 a night to sleeping comfortable is not that bad. Keep in mind that everything is a write off at the end of the year. I’ve thought about doing that on certain trips but it’s not a chance I’m willing to take. Just my two cents 🤷🏾♂️
Where does it say you can’t sleep in a box truck?
What load board do you use to get loads with a cdlb
I'm actually considering doing that I currently drive an 18-wheeler over the road I'm wondering if that would be a better alternative than actually buying a an 18-wheeler
Love your channel!!! Wanting to start a box truck business ..with 5k cash and 8k credit will start renting in the beginning....wondering if you can rent a truck outside of my home state and have it insured for business use?
That shouldn’t be a problem, but I would call your insurance agent and double check with them. If they aren’t familiar with the states rules that ur renting from you may need to find a in state agent to help you. But renting is already tricky with insurance but if u grind you will figure it out haha.
@@bradtaylor1093 okay makes sense ..thank you!!
U really inspire bro I've 3 days out here and had the same idea looked you up and legit you gave me a push cause I was skeptical. Questions tho. Would DOT give you a violation if they catch you sleeping in ur truck or does it have to be certified.. 🤷♂️
Thanks bro. And nah you’re good. All these truckers say you can’t sleep in the truck, but I’ve talked to DOT and you’re good. Just make sure you go “off duty” and not “sleeper berth”
@@boxtruckbros9935I'ma take your word for it , I'm hauling my very first load from Ann Arbor to Denver 🥷🏾
Read the fmcsa rule book about sleeping in your truck ?????
All facts. Sleeping in cab w/o sleeper is illegal tho. Your channel is growing I wouldn’t promote it. It’s like a hidden gem we all do it but it’s def illegal I wouldn’t put it out there for the world
