Reset at furnace, or air handler, or Pkg unit by turning off and back on , honestly there could be many different scenarios. But maybe you will get power back. Sounds like low voltage to stat is not present. Although it has battery does not mean system runs off the batteries, but sometimes they do ..it’s according if thermostat has a common coming to it or not and usually for a wireless thermostat, you have to have a common. If reset doesn’t work You need a tech..

What size battery
Usually 2 aa batteries. But some Tstat of Honeywell are 3 aaa. And some 2aaa. So if the ones u try don’t fit , it’s gonna be opposite size.
