Once you enter a Tool concert all skin colors disappear and become chromatic iridescent.. no white, black, brown nor yellow.. just a rainbow of reflective brilliance.. PEACE BROTHER..
Exactly. This is what decades of study and hard work can get you when you apply yourself, and remain humble. Danny Carey is a student of drumming. And you can tell, this man has done his homework. And now the student has become the master.
Heard someone mention that Danny Carey's playing is an example of someone who has natural talent who pushes himself for 40+ years to continually become better and better
Haha I happened to be one of the "other guys". We decided to brand ourselves as a Tool cover band. Drummer quickly bowed out, and I don't blame him. The new guy that came in didn't really know Tool so was willing to try. Had he known I don't think he would have joined, but he's been a good sport and stuck it out. We're a year in and we've got 8 songs down.
As a kid, I was drawn to their videos. Now I am nearing 40 and they still seem so fresh, innovative, and exciting since I first heard them nearly 30 years ago.
@@jessedominguez543 thats adorable. I was probably around 10, 11 when I first heard them. I remember starting high school in 1999, 2000 and all of the Amazing albums that came out.
Tool marathon next has to happen. There are just too many amazing songs that you guys are missing out on from their older catalogue. The Grudge, H, Eulogy, Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned, and you guys haven't even touched Undertow! Alice in Chains was fun, but this. is. necessary.
Literally any song by them is worthy of a marathon, and hopefully they make sure the combo songs are done right like Parabol/Parabola and Disposition/Reflection/Triad.
The thing that makes Danny the GOAT imo isn't that he just has insane technical prowess. It's his ability to write insanely original beats that are extremely complex but still have so much groove.
Robert nope!! That’s like saying there are plenty of blues guitar player that could play Hendrix and write his music. Sure if a really good drummer practiced enough they might be able to play it but to say they can write a masterpiece like this Pfffs
@@joepokro4824 uhh there are way better drummers and drum composers out there than Carey. His playing is actually pretty outdated now in the progressive scene (though the melodies tool writes are what REALLY shows their age). Honestly the most unique thing about his drumming(these days) is the drum tone. Not to detract from his compositions at all, but to say no one can compare is pretty ignorant. There are much better and more creative bands than tool out there right now.
@@irockmajorly which other prog drummers produce such melodic/hypnotic/'mystic' complexity in their drumming? i feel like i've listened to nearly every progressive, experimental, technical metal and rock and i'm pretty sure i've never heard anything that approaches Carey's work
The man is 58 years old. Just incredible. The “cymbal with a top” is called a hi-hat. Also, the different beats with each limb is called polyrhythms. Two or more rhythms or time signatures played on top of each other. While he is playing that the band, each instrument, is layering more on top, some follow one or more of his limbs and some add even more complexity. Love you guys, thanks for all the great work you do!
Are you fuckin me? He's really 58? I occasionally play in a band with two family friends, both nearing 60, (my dad's 65) and they both tell me, "I'm so old, you wait til you're our age blah blah blah" and aside from my dad, who works construction with me on a daily basis crawling around in attics and stuff giving them shit for not being able to bend over, you BETTER BELIEVE my old drummer buddy is going to hear some shit now lol. We play old cover songs from the 70s, and don't get me wrong, you find me someone who doesn't love old songs from the 70s and I'll kiss yer ass, but they act like they're nearing death and they're not even 60! People are too funny man, lol.
My first ever reaction to Tool. I was 13. On a salmon fishing trip with my dad. We were sitting in his car taking a break from the rain, wet and cold he told me "Listen to this!" And he played Eulogy as loud as his Toyota could! I was in awe, never forgot that song. It left an everlasting scar on my mind. For years, I could not shake what I felt when I heard that song for the first time. After the release of Fear Inoculum, my love and passion for the band has grown ever stronger, and I am being brought back to that moment in my dads car, listening to Tool and trying to get warm. This is a band that will be with me for as long as I live! Thanks for the reaction, guys!
I remember discovering Tool as a 16 year old. H was the song that drew me in. I remember I had taped it off the radio and was listening to it in my jeep parked under the carport. There was a hurricane and I sat out there in my jeep blasting H, watching the weather. I'll never forget that.
When he said, "I love how people were trying to hate on this album when it first came out." It's a weird experience man. I remember when 10,000 Days came out. Me, my friend, and everyone we talked to were like, "Man, this album is just okay. Some of the songs are good I guess but this'll never be a great album." Then we went to the tour concert for it. And then spent a few years listening to it and now we all love it. Tool's just operating on some level that takes the rest of us time to catch up to.
That has been my experience with every single Album. That's just Tool for you. It never blows you away right from the start and most times you just really go "meh". But you still keep getting drawn back to it over and over and with each time you do it grows on you more and more. Tool music is not for those looking for instant gratification and deffinitely takes some time to fully appreciate.
Danny Carey is one of the greatest drummers of all time. Tool’s been rocking since the early 90’s and I feel like every album they put out he manages to amaze me even more. In my opinion he is the best drummer to ever live.
@@truthseekerKJV You're right. Danny Carey is great, but there are people out there that are on an entirely different level, like Larnell Lewis or Gergo Borgai just to name a few.
Yeah anyone saying this album wasn't something special just isn't paying attention. Fear Inoculum will go down as one of the greatest records in rock history.
As a prog rock/metal band with songs over 10 minutes and a 13 year ''break'', they still managed to score first place on the charts for a few weeks, above some of the most known pop artists who also released a new album at the time. Most of the negative comments I stumbled upon were from either people who dislike Tool and don't like to see them on the spotlight or Tool fans that are angry at Maynard because he didn't sing much. In my opinion, this is one of the best albums I've heard. I'm someone who listens to hip-hop, rock, metal, pop, eletronic music, country and much more. I don't want to sound like a Tool stan and say they're the best ever because it's impossible to say something is better than the other when it's different (for example, comparing Tool to Eminem) but this album and this song in particular are some of the best pieces of craft of music I've ever listened to in my life. The album has been out for almost a year and believe it or not, I still listen to it at least once a day.
He is the the GOAT 🐐!!!! His posture throughout this whole process is insane. Polyrhythms, crazy metrics, and creating his own rhythm! No wonder his arms are so damn swole

"Pneuma" is that special kind of song that you will have to show to the next generations to come, 'cause it will become a true Prog classic like "Tom Sawyer" or "Roundabout" is to us now. And your reactions to both versions of "Pneuma" shows that this song is truly, truly special.
Incredible separation between his 2 hands and his 2 feet. Each can be playing different rhythms at once, and he can manage that chaos. I would love to see him hooked up to a brain scanner while he is playing.
I don't know man. I hear 3 musicians that are writing at their best, as passionate and talented as ever if not even more, with hunger to get out of their comfort zone. And then there's this dude that treats Tool as his side project, he clearly picked favourites because his work w APC is amazing, and his work here is uninspired af. A spit in the face to his collegues and the reason everyone is criticizing this album.
Arcanineisthebest I would agree with you if I didn’t find myself always singing the lyrics. Maynard did the right amount of work and let the other 3 shine. Too much Maynard on this album would have been a disaster. Also, A Perfect Circle was just ok. Nobody cares about them anymore.
@@Arcanineisthebest Strong disagree. What Maynard wrote and sang, even though it wasn't much, was very good and still filled with meaningful things. Great voice as well for his age. I'm absolutely glad that he let the other guys have the spotlight, otherwise we wouldn't have had sick instrumental parts like in 7empest, Descending and Pneuma where it's just one hell of a phenomenal trip. Also not sure who ''everyone'' is but it surely isn't the majority lol
@@SN4K3P1T000 I agree. The thing I like about this album is the fact that each musician is spotlighted. No, this album doesn't sound like any of the others, I think that in itself shows the maturity and creativity. If there's one thing Tool has always been great at, it's bringing a different sound with each album while still maintaining that "Tool" sound
@@SN4K3P1T000 Maybe I was exaggerating when I wrote that comment, he did a good job. If you're good at your job you're good at your job. I'm also not asking for more, I don't care for grandiose vocal passages that critics like Anthony Fantano are criticizing him for not doing, Tool has never been about showing off anyway so that's not my problem. But to me Maynard is variety, and in this album he sounds to me a lot more conventional this time, either being the leading melody or just following along with the band, instead of being a piece of this cohesive, morphing puzzle. It's hard to explain, maybe me and my friends are just wrong, music is subjective anyway. And he definitely doesn't ruin the songs at all for me, but I do find myself tuning him out to listen to the other three gentleman, or in songs like descending just straight up skipping to the middle. I agree with the APC comment, but to me he sounds a lot more passionate in that album, but then again, maybe he is as passionate here and I'm wrong. Like I said...subjective.
What he's doing with those drums is one of the purest expressions of human freedom, art and purpose. He slipped the surly bonds of flesh in these moments and the listeners were allowed to travel along.
@Mindp0wer w no diss to Neil Peart, but I think Danny is on a different level. I listen to the best of Neil an I'm impressed. When I hear the best of Danny it doesn't make sense. Both are great but I think Danny is a machine
As a diehard Rush fan and one that wept at Neil Peart’s passing, I can honestly say that Danny is some next level shit. Likely, now, the greatest living percussionist. Mind blowing 😊
As a drummer what always blew me away was the fact that this is what his mind heard. This all felt natural for him. The mind behind the master shows me my own lacking of imagination.
I love that neither of you can hold yourselves back even a little bit from expressing the absolute admiration you have for this performance. It makes me so happy to see you both beside yourselves trying to hold it together while watching this.
I don’t know who was saying this album was not worthy and it was the “same old stuff”. From the moment I heard each of the songs, I said to myself if they never make another album, while I will miss new material, I think this album is a COMPLETE MASTERPIECE and belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the best albums of all time. It transcended my life and completed my TOOL obsession that has been with me for 28 of my 43 years of life.
Tool's albums are real, all of them. But they are also auto-biographical. FI is about the fears of getting older and mortality, the naysayers, and trying to stay relevant. FI about is about shutting out the all of the culling voices and reaching deep within to create something new despite your own self doubts and everyone telling you you're getting too old and that you're over the hill. Tool is Gen-X's (my generation) greatest group. Yes, Gen-X is now approaching 60 (can you believe it!) I know that I am proud and inspired by them. My ranking of Tool albums are in reverse order last to first. I'm just a tad younger than Danny, but their albums have all fit my life when I was that age. I understand that might be a minority opinion and will not question any difference of opinion, because those different opinions are completely valid, depending on your time of life. I only hope that they bring out another gem in their 60's!
Well.. melodically, it IS the same old stuff. You're kinda delusional if you deny that. It's a good album, but it would have been better had it been released in like 2010. Music has progressed far past what they did on FI, and to me, the whole thing feels incredibly outdated. I really really hoped for something new, and I definitely didn't get that. The only thing I consistently loved on the album were Maynards vocals. Culling Voices, Invincible and Pneuma were great, but I'm very meh on most of the record. I just wish they were more bold with the melody choices. Every song has a chord progression that could have been on the last three albums, and that's not a good sign to me. Seems like Adam is the one who cant step outside their melodic boundaries. Would have loved more emotion put into the record, but oh well. Hoping they release one final project, one that's much more inspired.
@@irockmajorly you couldn't have worded it better, this album belongs to around 7 years ago for me too, Adam Jones' ears are shot as shit, his melodies and also the tone really annoyed me and he even said he wanted it to be this way, #bummer
I agree, Danny Carey is the best drummer alive since Neil Peart passed. He wears the Jersey of the city he's in. He is all of the best drummers before him somehow combined.
@@randygarbrecht3185 My father, the great Larry Muhoberac (look him up, R.I.P.) said the exact same thing you just did... "Never Stop Learning". When I was 4 years old. I never forgot that .
"It never gets old." Exactly. I'm not even a tool "fan", but that's exactly how I feel when I watch this performance. I can watch it 10000 times and always feel like WTF IS THIS AMAZING SHIT?
I am so glad you did this. I love Tool, I love your reaction videos. I loved this song, this album, as soon as it came out but then when I saw your original reaction to Pneuma, it just brought out more for me. So when this video came out, and all the additional elements that it highlights not just of Danny but their entire live interaction, I was hoping so hard that you guys would do it. And man, what justice you did to it. All the aspects that you pick up on - and for all that you say you don't necessarily get the technical nuances, go-lly you've brought that along so far in the last few years - the subtleties in the human performance and the feel of the music that you bring out and with so much enthusiasm takes the whole experience to another level for me. There are always Tool snobs, and anti-Tool snobs. But you guys get it. It's the power, the emotion, and the sheer joy and beauty that comes through in what they do. And in your reactions, this reaction, you somehow bring even more to a performance that is already sublime. That, George, Ryan, is itself Art.
anyone clowning this album is too wrapped up in consumer culture, not everything is to be enjoyed one minute and discarded the next, and a tool album is a huge mark against that. They are worth while. worth every repeated listen. and on and on and on.
I took a while to warm up to the album, mostly because I had waited for so long anything new was going to require a thorough investigation. As a fan of the more recent Tool rather than the older generation I really appreciate the sonic evolution of the band and this album is not disappointing in the least. The more I listen to it, the more I like it, even after nine months.
Eh it's a decent album. But if I want the Tool experience I'd rather listen to Ænima/Lateralus. Fear Inoculum is mostly a retread of what they've done before, just more refined and meditative. Which is cool, but it misses some of the rawness of earlier albums.
@sonnguru Far from it actually. They are very much keeping with the bands style, while evolving slightly to keep it fresh. The new album is nowhere near as angry and heavy as older albums which is meant to reflect how much they have learned and evolved over the years. They have grown as people and so has their music. Fair enough if you don't like it, but saying it's not as good as their older stuff means you are completely missing the point and most likely afraid of change. I know so many "supposed" Tool fans who refuse to like the new album for no other reason then they are stagnant themselves and are unwilling to accept that things change. We get it, you think tools old albums are the best ever and nothing can ever top them. You're one of very few people who think that.
For me, Pneuma may very well be the pinnacle of Tool's greatness. It has transcended from merely a song into an incredible universal journey of mind, body, and soul.
you know, the ending of pneuma is so beautiful... its like its meant to be repeated at least a couple of times. Me, personally - i think their album fear inoculum is the album i was waiting for. Its like everything is so perfect. As if tool said "this dude... this blackfall.. this is his taste so lets write the album that way". I mean obviously it wasnt that, but to me the album is so good that i cant explain it any other way xd
I still think Lateralus and Aenima were lightening in a bottle, this album is fantastic but i think Maynard was a tad sharper on the earlier pair.. i don't reeeally think of 10,000 days as a full length tool album, but that's another subject~ these songs are great, my favourite is invincible at the moment, but i just think songs like Reflection, H., the obvious Lateralus, Parabol/Parabola... A few tracks from Salival.. there's something different coming from the weird dude crouched in the background~ (all of this should be taken as having the friendly inflection of a lifelong tool maniac)
@@richardm6985 I discovered Tool rencently for the fanbase standards (2 years ago), but Aenima is a bit "basic" and not prog enough for me. Of course I love it, but I feel there were still building up to something. I simply find their music more interesting on the following albums. I really think that FI is Tool's best work with Lateralus.
@@TheAskald Very cool to hear the perspective of someone for whom a lot of this music is new~ i agree that Lateralus is the best :) some of the tracks on Aenima really capture an earlier stage in their career, they sound a bit more raw, but they've started mixing in the more complex ideas of Lateralus, which are the ones i really relate to~ Stinkfist, 46&2, H., Jimmy (as a piece of delicious heaviness)~ very easy for me to enjoy listening to them~ good impact, good lyrics, good instrumentation, good vocals, good stuff!
Its not normal at all for a drummer. Wrist, elbow, and shoulder pain puts most of them down in their 40's. He's a monster and maybe his size helps. he's 6'5"..
IMO he is the greatest drummer of all time..... every musician in tool is goood but I’ve never had a drummer lure me in nearly as much as Danny does he just brings the bands sound to another level
That and they gell so well with each other. They basically elevate each other exponentially. Some people see tool as a Maynard project and the vocals are really good but it's really the riffs and drum that elevate it to a whole different level.
You guys are by and far the best Reaction channel on RUclips, and I am so very glad you are Tool fans! Maybe consider doing some Failure, they toured a little with Tool in the 90's, Maynard even covered one of their songs. Their 1996 video for 'Stuck On You' was recently remastered in 4k!
On behalf of all TOOL fans - please do a TOOL marathon next especially with deep album cuts and checkout their first album, they had a different bassist and the sound was quite different
He doesn't even look at what he's doing often. And his drumsticks move so fast at times they don't even look real. Also, those biceps. I would never want to mess with those. Amazing.
"best living drummer". I'd agree. Unfortunately, I believe, and I'd bet even Danny might say, "the best ever passed away a year ago tomorrow, January 7th, 2020. RIP Professor !!!! GOAT. Neil could do it all, and NEVER stopped evolving or learning. He kept improving. He truly is the GOAT. Not taking ANYTHING away from Danny.
@@Bs73471, disagree. So do many other's, including a shit ton of percussion pro's. Neil's composing alone is leaps and bounds ahead of most top players. The guy was incredibly smart and had a hell of an IQ. Along with that, he had "chops" to back it up. I realize it's a lot of "opinions" so I get it, and I respect yours. I just totally disagree. And I ♥️ John. I just believe Neil truly was in a league of his own.
9:57 Exactly how everyone reacted when he hit pause 😂 I’ve watched countless reactions of this performance and it never gets old to see people appreciate the greatness of Danny Carey 🐐
I find this live version of the song "better" than the studio album version. I love both versions but this live version seems more raw. It really comes alive watching Danny Carey play, besides from his other worldly skills, seeing the effort he puts into the song adds another dimension that is lost with just listening to it alone. I watched a recording of this live performance further out, from the fans point of view is great but once again seeing Danny play his part while listening to the songs is a just amazing.
@@MBP208 Yeah, I'm in the process of learning this song on drums, mostly using the studio version, and you can tell Danny's adding a lot more flair on the hi-hat than in the studio version.
Nah.. The drums are mixed too loud (it IS a Vic Furth commercial). It's missing ALL of the vocal effects and arrangement dynamics. The better the audio setup you experience this on, the more you realize the attention to details that this band has.

I think my favorite RUclips comment I’ve ever read is: “fun fact, the metronome asks Danny for permission to play at a certain speed”. Danny isn’t human. IO Danny Carey!
My favorite comment that I read was that : "The legend says that Danny had a deal with the Devil, we still don't know what Danny obtained from the deal, but the Devil had drum lessons."
danny carey: "oh, c'mon, guys, it's been thirteen years since the last album! I've got so much stuff saved up, I need to play it all at once!" the rest of tool: "ok, danny. bring it."
In an interview with Danny, he mentioned that the big gaps between albums were due to Maynard writing stuff and then giving the rest of the band the time they need to piece their own parts together then the lyrics come. Plus the side bands but essentially this greatness takes around a decade everytime lol
Danny's parts are like some shit that a guitar player came up with in some kind of music programming software that if you showed to a drummer would be like, "Bro wtf are you thinking you'd need like 7 limbs to play this." Danny's over here like, "Nah I think I can do it, let me give it a try."

I too at first didn't think much of this album. But I just let it play one time on a long trip and I suddenly realized the absolute brilliance and that every song is literally a masterpiece. It's very hard to listen to other bands now. And idk how the hell the rest of the band is able to stay on time with the insanity going on behind them. The band as a whole is just light years ahead of any genre and I don't think will ever be equaled.

If Lars could write a song. I imagine it would be called time is magic.
I actually do this in traffic jams.
The thing that makes Danny the GOAT imo isn't that he just has insane technical prowess. It's his ability to write insanely original beats that are extremely complex but still have so much groove.
I think he is great but there are plenty great musicians out there that can play what he does and also write it.
But I agree with the original comment. That's definitely where Danny shines, keeping everything in a groove
Have you seen the recent video of 53 year old Mike Tyson training? Check it out. Old guy mastery is truth.
Plus the hi hat can be played open or closed for different sounds. Or alternating between open and closed.
I'm 40 I just played Forty Six and Two to my 6 year old today......he like it...breath released.
Your dad was much cooler than mine
Eulogy has always been one of my favorites. Thats an awesome story man.

There's so much depth to their albums. The more you listen the more you hear. I love taking psychedelics and hearing even more hidden treasures.

Yeah anyone saying this album wasn't something special just isn't paying attention. Fear Inoculum will go down as one of the greatest records in rock history.
Agreed
This will be remembered as fondly as ANY of the TOOL catalog or ANY of their albums. Like it or hate it, this song and this album is undeniable.

It transcended my life and completed my TOOL obsession that has been with me for 28 of my 43 years of life.
Been a fan since '92. FI is a tie between Aenima and Lateralus. IMO
Well said brother!! 🤘🤘

“I’m sorry,” While laughing and shaking his head in pleasant disbelief of this great song.
Love your guys content!
anyone clowning this album is too wrapped up in consumer culture, not everything is to be enjoyed one minute and discarded the next, and a tool album is a huge mark against that.
Fear Inoculum
is mostly a retread of what they've done before, just more refined and meditative. Which is cool, but it misses some of the rawness of earlier albums.
My only issue with this album is it feels like Maynard is phoning it in compared to the previous albums, but its by no means a bad album.
You guys made me laugh and smile so hard hearing you get so excited and passionate about a band I grew up on. I really needed that today. Thank you.
For me, Pneuma may very well be the pinnacle of Tool's greatness. It has transcended from merely a song into an incredible universal journey of mind, body, and soul.
I could say the same about Descending and Lateralus. These 3 are probably my top 3
you know, the ending of pneuma is so beautiful... its like its meant to be repeated at least a couple of times.

And I ♥️ John. I just believe Neil truly was in a league of his own.
you should do Tool's Led Zepplin cover of No Quarter
They gotta listen to the original first. It’s the best cover of any song ever!
@@kimberlysaffles9332 it's almost better than the original it's crazy
@@el0j It is better
OthMan yep I totally agree
Yeah... 2 reaction videos... the original and then the Tool version. This will blow you guys away SERIOUSLY
9:57 Exactly how everyone reacted when he hit pause 😂
I’ve watched countless reactions of this performance and it never gets old to see people appreciate the greatness of Danny Carey 🐐
I like it more as well. Danny goes harder for this than the album for sure
60 year old men still putting it down HEAVY! Love it! I’m a 37 yr old man now and have been following TOOL all my life and these videos you guys are putting out on the music I love makes my heart happy! Keep up the great work guys! Cheers!! 🍻 46&2 just ahead of us!
Maynard sounds amazing in this performance... We musn't forget that they're all amazing musicians.
4 Masters in their own craft
They are genius musicians. Cut from a different cloth entirely. Genius!!
There will never be another band like this. We are so lucky to have them.
Ive never been a huge "Tool" fan, Some of there music is super great, But your Videos have inspired me to delv deeper into the band , so Thanks.
Yea you just can't deny how good Dany Carey is, he's one of the best its just the truth.
Man i must have watched you two react to this song at least 20 times..it never gets old indeed. Both of you are awesome. I love how you are into this song, it's such an amazing piece of music. Epic...not a day goes by where i don't listen to pneuma.✌🏻
Been a TooL fan since 1993, I really appreciate your take and perspective on their music. You have highlighted things I over looked all these years.
I know you are probably tired of Tool reactions but I would love to see you guys do Tempest...if you haven't heard it yet. I have been so curious as to your reaction when hearing that bohemeth.
In your opinion, who do you think Tempest is about? I think he's singing about someone in particular. Just curious. Thanks
I think Descending is a better song. Tempest is great and heavier for sure, but Descending gets those goosebumps flowing for me man.
@@shaynasullivan5832 I also prefer Descending, but a reaction to 7empest would be much more entertaining
Every song on FI is like ear candy. I can literally feel the serotonin release in my brain when i get lost in those masterpieces. Its pretty cool :)
MY GOD I HAVE BEEN DYING TO SEE YOU GUYS REACT TO THIS. I've never been so happy to see a 30 minute RUclips video before, lol
I will never ever get tired of watching your reactions to tool!
I think my favorite RUclips comment I’ve ever read is: “fun fact, the metronome asks Danny for permission to play at a certain speed”. Danny isn’t human. IO Danny Carey!
He has gained Chuck Norris status!!! 😂
My favorite comment that I read was that : "The legend says that Danny had a deal with the Devil, we still don't know what Danny obtained from the deal, but the Devil had drum lessons."
danny carey: "oh, c'mon, guys, it's been thirteen years since the last album! I've got so much stuff saved up, I need to play it all at once!"
the rest of tool: "ok, danny. bring it."
I was thinking the same
This made me genuinely laugh til my eyes watered, thank you :)
Who in their right mind would "Thumb Down" this video? Danny is a Living Drummer God and this song, is very complex and they nailed it live.. 👏
Yes. How DARE anyone give it a thumbs down. That's just pure BLASPHEMY.
They musta been high
@@amethysttravis4894 HAHAHAHA thats funny dude.
Personally, i think "THE GAPING LOTUS EXPERIENCE" is Tool's BEST song... it is so much like THE DOORS. Nobody EVER has done such an incredible version of "THE DOORS" song, even though it's not a "THE DOORS" song. But it is so AWFULLY (awful being their version of a "the doors" song, and so awesome) like a "The Doors" song it almost sounds as if it WERE a THE DOORS song. Especially due to the keyboards, which, of course, there are none of. However, if there WERE keyboards, it would be the BEST AND MOST AWFUL "The Doors" song ever created, even by THE DOORS. What an incredible cover. Oh wait sorry... i forgot... it's not a THE DOORS cover. It just sounds like it is. My bad.

Ne Obliviscaris , their first two albums in particular
You guys are killin it. Bravo !
As a Metal head, a drummer and a free thinker, I really appreciate you guys working your ass off, taking requests, going out of your comfort zones. Been seeing you guys for 2 years now. Its been amazing to see you guys grow. Kinda the living example of the saying that nothings comes out if one stays in their comfort zones. So yes commendable effort.👍
But I am also very keen to know your favourite hip-hop tracks. Pls put out a playlist of your go to tracks. What all milestone one has to cover to understand hip-hop properly.
Best drummer of all time, love this reaction because you guys were so hyped!
I never truly appreciated his playing until I saw them live. I couldn't take my eyes off him. Definitely one of a kind.
I cannot imagine my life - my spirit - without TOOL. To watch other music lovers share the same admiration, appreciation, and connection with this music that I have... It's brings so much joy! Thanks for doing these. Love you guys!
Gave me chills. And I've watched this like 5 times already.
For some reason the way Danny set his sticks down felt like home...
That ending when it goes back to darker purple or whatever and chills out, you can feel the accomplishment.
He's the God of Levers.
Please react to Ticks and Leaches by Tool! Danny's drumming is next level on that one!
I watch this video every time I feel down in a hole. You guys are so genuine in your reactions that it brings back the joy. Thank you and Tool so much!
Please do “The Grudge”! For the love of all that is Holy, please do “The Grudge!”
I whole heartedly agree, this song makes everything ok with me everytime i listen to it
When they came to Melbourne he was in full Kobe gear. The best drummer and he's 59.

Thank you!!!!!
Ryan, Bill Burr didn't start playing the drums until he was in his 40s... just sayin, never too old to start.
Just the fact that Bill likes Meshuggah is hilarious to me 😂
As high strung as Burr is just adds to the hilarity on how much he likes them. Just fuel for the fire lol.
I agree!
i am 43 and i have been playing music since i was 15 or so. Always played guitars but last fall i bought my first drum kit inspired by this album and it is like i have been born again!!! never too old to start that, go for it.
Teacher: "Pat your head and rub your tummy."
Danny: *plays Pneuma* "Am I a joke to you?"
What about my chemical romance? Have you heard anything from them? Black Parade, Teenagers, Na Na Na Na Na

Danny is arguably the G.O.A.T. he is most certainly on the Mount Rushmore of drummers.
Absofuckinglutely
I have seen this footage over 300 times and every single time is like the first time. Danny is the Master.
