    Question, at 3:29 in the video, you say to cut (2) pieces at 24", do you mean 24-1/2" as I don't see anywhere else in the video to use 24" pieces, unless I missed something. BTW I made these and they came out great. Thank you.

    I just finished this build this weekend. Great design and measurements. The backrest will fit perfectly snug between the assembled seat/leg assembly but needs a little persuasion. I added a cup holder to mine. I also had to add shims between the backrest and armrests because when I tightened the reinforcing screws the legs racked a bit. You could pre-paint the pieces before assembly for easier painting but keep in mind you will need to touch up. The only modification I would make would be to widen the seat/backrest maybe an inch more, mainly because my girlfriend has a big arse. Also note if your plan is to make these the centerpiece of your deck/patio, keep in mind it's construction grade lumber you are looking at here; imperfections are evident and the norm when spending about $23 in materials. Thanks so much for posting the video and get that double one going!

    It never even crossed my mind to make a double version. I made a couple sets of these (using pocket screws) last summer for my house and I gave away a set to a friend. They turned out to be more comfortable than the store bought chairs we had purchased when we moved into this house. I originally sized them up a little to fit some cushions that I loved but I found I like the chairs without the cushions so much better. Keep up the great videos.

      The front edge?

    • @PimptatoPCs
      @PimptatoPCs 4 месяца назад

      @@cedarriverwoodworking It's not a big deal. But I would just make the side rails of the seat 1 1/2" shorter and have the front 2x4 extend out to the legs. That way you won't see the butt ends of the 2x4's right up in front. Still a great looking chair!

    This is a nice design and easy to make but man, it’s just heavy,especially if you use treated lumber! Any ideas on how to this lighter, perhaps using 1x4s for the sears (frame and slates), 1x4 for the arm rests and perhaps 2x2 for the front legs, 2x4 for back legs and 2x2 or 1x4 for back rest?

      I do have an updated build with the bench and I like that a lot more and it reduces weight. ruclips.net/video/Lk9b-u7O6ZI/видео.htmlsi=LSDc64iLmsJOv0pY

    Don't really see why you used 6" for the back legs. No reason that you cannot use the same 4"" as the rest of the chair, plus would be cheaper than the 6"
