Yeah you're right I was kind of thinking of that game while reviewing this. This one is fun though hopefully it holds you over while you wait for a mainline entry!
@@IDreamofIndie I also must say that I heard the game got some VERY bad reviews in Japan according to users I know over there. Although I don’t know why exactly.
When this first came out, I said "pass" but I've become a huge fan of the Neptunia franchise since then and might give this a try. It sounds unique and quirky. Also maybe I'm in the minority but I always preferred the Japanese voices in this series so the lack of English dub doesn't bother me at all.
Listening to you explain the lore of this game was a classic moment haha. I really don't know what is going on here, but I really like the colors, sound effects, and music. Kinda cool how they can bring this anime acid trip to life. I might have to play it if it's on sale so that Antis doesn't erase the world's digital content. Great review!
I've enjoyed some of the Neptunia spinoffs like 4 Goddesses Online in the past, despite disliking Visual Novels - man, how I wish Compile Heart/Idea Factory/TamSoft would just take the time to work out a fully explorable world map and normal in-engine conversations one of these days instead of cheapening out and falling back on the VN method - so I was interested in this one. I mean, it's still rare to see a Japanese developer pump out a shooter of any kind, ever, and even though this was never going to be Vanquish or Binary Domain, I was hoping it would at least be solid. The Earth Defense Force games are always able to provide some dumb fun; hopefully this would be able to get up that level as a shooter. That's all I wanted, and it sounds like they nailed that. The visuals have a cool "Phantasy Star Online if TRON threw up on it" look that I dig; the whole thing overall kinda reminds me of Digimon Cyber Sleuth. I really just needed to hear if it was solid. Oh and to see if I needed to mute the voices, which I totally do - the whole "pitch up your voice as HIGH AS POSSIBLE AT ALL TIMES because it's _moe"_ thing that Japanese voice actresses do is really grating, especially when coupled with the "Also, always shout out the name of your attacks every time you do them" thing. I get why they skipped the English VO this time, since they said they couldn't what with all the Japanese VTubers involved, so I understand it; I'll just mute 'em, it's not for me. Good review! Thanks for the quality info as always
Hey Barry good hearing from you. yes those voices as I mentioned in the review can get a little bit irritating but still this game is surprisingly fun it has some unique ideas and while it doesn't execute on all of the fundamentals perfectly it is an enjoyable experience. I haven't played every game in this series and I likely never will but I do think it has its charms.
I probably won’t be going for this one personally. I never really got into the series. But I can see it appealing for the fans of it, and I admit it looks and sounds pretty decent. Thanks for the review.
I've never played a Neptunia game. And I'm probably not about to start. A little bit fan-servicey for my taste. Edit: I mean... Says the guy who recently commented that I just finished Trials of Mana 🤨
Trials of Mana is great! Super Neptunia rpg is the only one I could get into and has less fanservicy stuff than 4 Goddeses and Megademension Neptunia, the only others I played. (And haven't finished) Neptunia rpg's battle system reminds me of Vakyrie Profile. Plus accessories level up with points to learn new abilities. I love it
@@IDreamofIndie Thanks Friend. I guess I buy it on PS4. I regret buying on steam and no refund after 3 hours of gameplay. so far no update. And PC port is still crashes.
Too bad it's such a bland and uninspired game. The gameplay is clunky and not fun at all and the shooting is pretty bad. For $50 I expect far more than this. It's pretty bad when compared to something like Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash.

Hopefully we get another mainline Neptunia game soon, and thank you for the review.
Reminds me of Fatal Bullet

Velvet Magician I think its becouse of the Voice pool..

Nice! I don't mind the Japanese either!!
Already bought neotunia virtual stars and it’s really fun!!!!
Awesome glad you are enjoying!!
Just ordered it looks nice and for 2.20€ including Bikini DLC the price is great.

Haha yeah did the best I could but the game doesn't make it easy!
Looks fun. I might get it. Good review
Thanks so much appreciate you watching !
I absolutely love this game! A solid 10 out of 10 for me.
Glad to hear that you are enjoying it 😊

I try to platinum every neptunia game.
Awesome! Good luck with this one!
Great review! I like the art style just not a game for me.
Totally fair! Appreciate you checking out the review regardless!
@@IDreamofIndie Got to check them all out, I don't want to miss out on an indie hidden gem.
Are Neptune, Noire, Blanc, Vert the only ones appearing in this game unless of course this is one of the few games that IF & Compa never appeared in.

No problem FlowerAngelRave. I think fans are going to enjoy this one!
I pre-ordered it I love the Neptunia series and have all of them. Thanks for the review.
Awesome Strick Nine! The series has great fans such as yourself. They are very passionate about these games.
Is it heavier than Megadimension?
Do you mean the content of the game? I wouldn't say it's dark or violent or anything like that. Seems in line with other games in the franchise.

Hey ya never know! Never played it much ourselves but ended up having fun :)

I would have bought the game or I would buy the game IF it had an English dub.
Fair enough! Hopefully they make that happen for you!
I wish it was still a turn base I so I'm going to skip and get Bravely Default 2 what looks beautiful it just seems like it's going to be boring
That's fair Deathcore nerd! It's a drastic change for the series that's for sure. I can understand that it won't be for everyone.
Just can't find myself playing 99% of anime games... not my thing...
Completely fair! Still appreciate you watching the content 💚
@@IDreamofIndie love ya guys, keep it up 😎
PC port is a bad port. so far no update to fix those bad port such as crashes. I'm looking for PS4 review if ps4 is a game with no crashes.
No crashes that I came across on PS4 Pro!
