My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

Watched a few of these and my biggest takeaway is what a decent and sincere man Dr Now is, a bit of an unsung hero.
I was amazed that he found a job working online. Go Abi!
Hes one of the few ppl, that actually made the changes needed to lose weight.. without messing up and making excuses. And id be willing to bet hes in a WAY better situation now then he was

Also he's paralyzed from the chest down but is in a ton of pain in those areas?

@leeallred1337 he may be partially paralized, so he may still have some feeling. Spinal cord injuries vary a lot from patient to patient.
@@anaespinoza8764that’s true i had partial paralysis down left hand side i could feel pins and needles and darts of pain and a throbbing pain in my arm but i couldn’t move it. I’m ok atm i hope it never comes back
This guy is impossible not to like, 13:22 was so adorable:). Definitely one of the least excuse filled people I’ve seen on the show. Glad he could get that surgery, he deserved it.
He's one of the most likable guys on this show. Being said however, I'm not a fan of the excuse of we don't have time to cook so we eat fast food. Frozen vegetables chicken breast, takes minutes to make. You can make it in the time it takes you to order fast food and for that food to arrive.
They said they can't cook healthy because of no time? I worked full time, raised a son, we went to church 3 times a week, karate 4 times a week, the gym and I kept my house spotless, while cooking meals. You will find time for what is important in your life

For real, toss a bag of frozen veggies and a pack of ground meat into a skillet; stir fry done in minutes with only one pan to clean.

My friend's mom was paralyzed but still had feeling.
They can still feel pain
The nerves that control movement are different than the ones that sense pain. I can move my legs and walk but I have no feeling below my knees.
