My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

Noticing that the kid was a complete nonfactor as Dolly bounces between what can only charitably be called "non-traditional lifestyles" i would say their mother does not love or care. In short, i truly hope you're correct

As a grandmother, I can’t imagine having to raise a baby at my age (52) that is a young person’s game!

I agree, I'm 70 but would do it if necessary. Thank God my children are excellent parents. When I see stories where the grandparents have to raise their grandchildren, I feel so sorry for them.

Haven't you noticed all the Olympian's and Elite Business People have old parents. There's more to offer a child when your in your 30's, 40's, 50's or older for men. You have more wisdom, your higher placed in the world and you have more money for resources.
Age means nothing. Your chronological age doesn’t have to match your biological age if you take care of your body.
So… how do they fund all this eating if the only thing they achieve in a day besides eating is laying in bed ?
That's the one thing I keep thinking about... That amount of junk food is expensive. Even if it could be cheaper in some places than healthy, just the sheer amount of take-outs and such,, just crazy

They get disability checks and don't pay bills so they spend their entire check on food

What really kills me about these stories is that most of them,we the taxpayers, are supporting. I don't know how they can afford so much food. If it's food stamps they are getting way too much. We are definitely middle class and could not afford that much food.

As a taxpayer I don't mind paying taxes for providing for people who are disabled or working low pay jobs (like teaching) however I think they don't pay rent or anything because most live with their parents so i think that the money they get for rent and such they spend it on food

@@moodydearest I’ve shared. My shoulders are a mess from tugging and pulling. Most hospitals don’t have the staff to assist so much of the tugging and pulling I had to do by myself.

I do get sharp humor, and a splash of sarcasm; I already know Dolly’s a harder story to tolerate as well, as her character lacks the accountability we crave in these people in order to get better. Despite this, the tone of this narration is one of obvious disgust. I can almost see her nose pointing down. The other videos aren’t this bad: this is the first that made me feel quite yucky to watch. But, I’m hoping and betting it was just testing which tones work best with the content.
So disgusting and nasty and vile how some people were move into a place, not clean it and then make it really nasty and then leave it crusty dusty with bugs and trash for other people to move into. 🤢🤢

This is terribly sad for the children involved. They learn from their environment. I have always struggled with my weight being 511 at 180 lbs makes me feel overweight myself. I could never imagine such a weight. Discipline is very important. There are so many wonderful people in this world. If your partner doesn't except you for wanting to be healthy then he has got to go!! I pray these familes see there is so much more to life. Living a healthy life for your children should be every parents goal in life🙏🏻✝️

I'm a drug addict and alcoholic. I have a physical dependency and I suffer horrendous withdrawal symptoms. These people won't get ill by not eating I think it's just greed. They obviously have mental health issues as do I but it it is not a physical dependence
Sugar is addictive. Brain scans show that sugar lights up the brain just like cocaine. It's not an accident that these people crave sweets and processed food is loaded with various forms of sugar.
They definitely have a physical addiction to food. The withdrawal may not be medical like yours. But it's there. Addiction is addiction. You're not a alcoholic and an addict. You're just an addict. You can recover too. I've been in recovery for 6 years. The only difference between addictions is the subject. It's the same obsessive and compulsion. The only difference is their addiction to food is more obvious.
As someone who has been diagnosed with EDNOS for almost a decade, food addiction/food problems is not as simple as that. You could almost argue that you don't need alcohol or drugs (I also have an alcohol addiction so I get it's not that easy) but you need food to survive. You need to eat food every day, even if you have a lot of fat reserves like the people in the show. It's easy to comment on these people from a distance and to make ourselves feel better for not being like them, but it's completely unfair.
yeah but once you taper off/detox your fine, but for them their bodies will always remain destroyed until they get 100k worth of cosmetic surgeries(or more). once you stretch your skin out to a certain point there's no going back with surgery.
two different addictions and yes, they can experience withdrawal symptoms. Medical studies have already proven this. Food addiction is comparable to be addicted to drugs. The sad thing, you can live without alcohol, you can live without weed.. but you have to eat. You’ll always be around food. Even if you are shopping at a clothing store, computer store, etc.
