I was 13 when Some Great Reward was published. My favourite band of the 80s, but in reality I was pleased growing up with the 80s music. Lucky to attend the 1990 Park West concert in Salt Lake City, which was resceduled to the basketball arena the next day, due to heavy rain the first day.

in the 80s the DMs were the first musical group that managed to bring the use of synthesizers to the great world audience. In the video it seems that their music at the time was played with strange instruments, in reality they already used synthesizers.
depeche mode : corrupt - shake the desease - personal jesus - never let me down - slow - higher love - condamnation - walking in my shoes there are indeed about thirty magnificent titles. the style I will call it electronic jazz
I was so in love with Dave when I was 16 yo, back in 1983 😍 Anyway, their British New Wave music was like a revelation for me. And yes, they had - and still have - their own style.
UK New Wave ... Memories 🤩👍🏻 "Dépêche Mode" was the name of a fashion magazine. The sounds for the time were very innovative ... I remember they banged on real kitchen pots 😉
I just described to your channel being amazed at your genuine reactions to Depeche Mode....how great to see a young dude enjoying this great '80s band!!!!
Depeche Mode are still massive, filling stadiums…this is my favourite but there are many great song by them Enjoy the Silence,…Get the Balance Right…..People are People…New Life (their first hit)
Finally you discover Depeche Mode, DM. All my youth is here. In my room, with friends, in discotheque, this group followed me since 1980 and I always listen with passion. Hi Dereck ! Thank you for reacting to Depeche Mode ! Such a creative , amazing group !Listen to "enjoy the silence", "shake the desease ", "Strange love", "Precious"... Thank you Dereck !
You simply can't be disappointed in everything they did in the 80's and 90's. Pure gems such as "Never Let Me Down Again", "Shake The Disease" and "Blasphemous Rumours", "Enjoy The Silence", "Policy of Truth", and so many more.
DM is my favorite band of all time!!! You definitely need to hear Question of Lust, one of the great gems where Martin (who usually sings backing) sings lead. And of course, Strangelove is an absolute gem and iconic song of DM. If you're like a little more obscure, I love the dark themes in Halo.
The Greatest Techno/Rock band in music history!!! Dave Gahan has the sexiest and deepest voice ever. Martin Gore is the genius behind these hits, superb writer and amazing backing vocals!! My favourite band ever!! Love them!!
Depeche Mode was a stadium filler in the 80's with plethora of hits. This was the proper start for the new line up with Alan Wilder who replaced Vince Clarke, Martin Gore becoming the main songwriter and Wilder the chief arranger being a trained pianist and flautist who also had experience as music studio assistant before joining DM. "Strangelove", "Shaking The Disease", "Enjoy The Silence", "Personal Jesus"....
The video was filmed back in the 80ties in Berlin Kreuzberg, where I live:-). Except for the lake scenes, thats Lake Wannsee at the Berlin surburbs..One of the best bands ever!
