This Sound shocked the world in 1984. So futuristic and industrial. Thank you Alan Wilder for programming this hard electronic sampled sounds and rythms.

Great reaction to a fabulous song! What a band. Every hit song is very different over the years. And truly amazing songs. They navigated the different musical eras with ease. What a talented band they turned out to be.
Depeche Mode, along with Pet Shop Boys and A-ha were were my 3 favorite groups growing up. All legendary bands who continue to make great music but in my opinion, all of their best music came during the 80’s.
Depeche Mode has been known to sample everything from the sound of a bicycle and pots and pans (Blasphemous Rumors) to a motorcycle (Stripped), conveyor belts (More Than A Party), a ping pong ball (Pipeline), and crates being slammed on stairs (Personal Jesus). AH! So glad you got to DM! You`re in for quite a meaty treat (u know, like 40 years in the business). Be sure to check out their albums Black Celebration, Music for the Masses, Violator, Songs of Faith and Devotion, and Ultra. Absolutely fantastic records.
As a electrofan following Kraftwerk since early 70:es i found both Depech, Eurythmics (when they where The Tourists) and Front 242 in early 80.es. Roskilde was the place to go to listen to new music. Strangelove for me is about the LBGT coummunity in the 80.es that was an outcast for the society by the biggest advocate Thatcher and Reagan.
I grew up with this in the 80s and my two older cousins were hardcore fans (one of them loved madonna as well) - so what could have went wrong with my musical education :D
Those sounds were not, in fact, just keyboard and synth arrangements. As I'm sure peopole have pointed out by now (considering this reaction is 2+ years old), the industrial sounds were hammers smashing anvils, among various other things. The band members took quite a field trip recording sounds like these for this record

Nothing 101 live version
You need a cigarrette ...you have an afterglow 🤣
Gggrrreeeaaaattttt ! I enjoy ! I saw a live of depeche mode in Paris when I was teenager, 1990's. Sssooo gggoooodddd
I saw DM in 1985 in Brighton. The first concert i ever attended in my life. I was 15.
Strangelove for me is about the LBGT coummunity in the 80.es that was an outcast for the society by the biggest advocate Thatcher and Reagan.
listen to the extended version as well...its great👍👍👍
I grew up with this in the 80s and my two older cousins were hardcore fans (one of them loved madonna as well) - so what could have went wrong with my musical education :D
Je les ai vu à Bercy, aux Eurokéennes et au Stade de France. Des showmen qui remplissent toujours les stades.
Always the best !
👍🙏🏻 Dans les arènes de Nimes… juste inoubliable dans ce lieu chargé d’histoire .
@@BBMCV pour le son surtout. Dire Straights c'était quelque chose. Ça doit être terrible. 👌
@@arnaudh.681 👍👌
Those sounds were not, in fact, just keyboard and synth arrangements. As I'm sure peopole have pointed out by now (considering this reaction is 2+ years old), the industrial sounds were hammers smashing anvils, among various other things. The band members took quite a field trip recording sounds like these for this record
It's a George V class Battleship in the historic footage.
Built just before and during WW2 by the British.
depeche mode : love it itself (most babana's)
personal jesus - walking in my shoes - in chains ......
and a lot of ......
You should react to Fly on the Windscreen. Darkest and sexiest song I've ever heard.
