The problem with getting the laferrai, p1, and 918 is they're all super sketchy about those cars. Ferrari said that any person who let Top Gear borrow a laferrari for they're race with all 3 cars would never be allowed to buy a limited edition ferrari again
Mclaren nor ferrari wants their cars to race against eachother, and neither does porsche, (they didnt let topgear do it) topgear is negotiating with them tho..
Let me clear some things up in this comment section. 1: The cars used on the drag race are the same used in the Best Driver's Car competition. That's why there's no Koenigseggs, Bugattis, or the hyper trio. 2: The 911 Turbo S won because it's just faster than the GT-R NISMO. The GT-R is faster at the corners but NOT at the straights because 1: The DCT is slower to shift than the PDK. 2: It's heavier. 3: The 911 has a rear-biased weight distribution that massively helps off the line traction. coupled with a high 5,500 RPM Launch, it just beats the Nissan. Okay. I hope that helps solve your questions!

Porsche is no way a competitor with a GT-R. The Nismo GT-R is for track purposes. The previous Nissan GT-R which was the older model in the drag race 3, did 11 Seconds. Nismo claims to have more power, yet is slower? That Nismo should be able to easily do 10.8. The driver #1 Didn't use launch control, or atleast didn't use it properly. There is no reason for that 2015 model to be slower than the previous 2013 model. LOL. GT-R still king
@@ih8scammers189 Gtr nismo is for track use not for drag races, for normal drag races normal gtr will do because the nismo version has a bigger wing for track purposes which focuses more on downforce and traction instead of straight line speeds, that's why you dont see much differences for drag races between the normal and the nismo version
Every time i see the 4C it leaves me looking like a stunned mullet, i was not expecting that quarter mile time from 240hp! Its absolutely mind blowing that it demolishes the STI on laguna seca and on the quarter! Both cars would have headroom for making more power, but its going to be AWD vs light weight every time
Ecu alone will do it, there will be another version coming soon either QV (Cloverleaf) or GTA as there is still further weight to be saved believe it or not (rear hatch opening is heavy)
deigima According to some reports they will make a version with over 300 hp. It's a pity the US version gets heavier or I even read somewhere with less hp. I don't understand why so many European cars get either less hp or heavier in US version.
It's the ending celebration for the best driver's car competition and so only cars from that competition are in this drag race. If you read their explanations, you'll see that a.) Ferrari and McLaren chickened out and did not want to participate and b.) Lambo had no car eligible for this year's race (Aventador participated already and Huracan not available).
I'm amazed at how well the Alfa 4C stayed with the camaro for most of the race. No big surprise that it's slower at the top end but it's still impressive since it's not even half as powerful.
To those who say "why isn't Ferrari or Lamborghini or w.e in this race, it sucks!" Oh please...if you could take one thing away from this video, it's that most of these cars are around or under $100K, with the exception of the Porsche ($200K or so). The whole point of this drag race is relativity to cars you see on the road (e.g. Ford) to give you a real perspective on how fast the others are. This is called diversity. It's good to see. Also, note that everything is 2015. They essentially took a variety of NEW cars and put them against each other.

Still would have lost to the 911, just not as badly. Porsches have always had acceleration that defied even their p/w radio, simply due to the off-the-line traction inherent in that rear-engine layout.
I must say I am really impressed from the Alfa 4C . He has a 1.8 Turbo engine with 240 HP and he was near by the Z28 up to the middle of the race. Not bad.

Ever heard of the Camaro ZL1? The Z/28 is built for track work, and unlike the M4, it won't be driven by cashed up vogue-ists who throw it away after a year when it goes out of fashion. A true car guy will always get the Z/28
Well not really, and I own 2 BMWs, but the facts are facts. The ZR1 that is now out of production could do 10.90s stock. The 650hp Z06 is out very soon and will also do the same or better. As well as the M4 lost to the Z28 by 10 seconds at the latest test at VIR for the lightning lap test. Oh and I forgot to mention the supercharged ZL1 Camaro. The Z28 is a track rat.
well there were just 2 close races (Porsche vs Nissan and the Camaro vs M4 vs Alfa). It could be even closer if: - instead of the VW GTI -> HGP Golf 6 R (750HP) - instead of the M4 -> BMW M6 - instead of the i8 -> BMW B3 Alpina BiTurbo - instead of the Fiesta -> Ford Mustang GT - instead of the Alfa 4C -> Novitec Alfa Romeo 8C Optional: - Audi RS6 - Audi RS7 - Mercedes CLS 63 AMG - Fiat 500 Oemmedi (580HP) - Vauxhall VXR8 (587HP) - Skoda Octavia RS (600HP)
all the named cars are from 2013-2014. Some of those are in the World's Greatest Drag Race 3, which is made during that time period. In this drag race, they test cars from 2014-2015, therefore well they are not on the list.
Get some professional drivers. The GT-R had a run in 11,1 sec at the 3rd drag race and now even though the Nismo has 600hp they had again 11,1 sec? The driver with the STi could floor it, as well...I know what I'm talking 'bout ;)

Ivan A My brother owns a 2006 STI with 320hp and I know what these rides are capeable of. The driver of the STi must be a rookie or something like that. The one in the GT-R would smoke most cars. As I said, during the 3rd Drag race, the GT-R had a 11,1 sec. run - although it wasn't even the newer NISMO GT-R. So Yeah, the drivers fucked up.
Ivan A The GT-R would not make a 991 Turbo S eat smoke in any quarter-mile drag race. It's faster to 100 km/h, but after that the 991 Turbo S just goes back and in the end, wins. The GT-R is a lot less fast at higher speeds than pretty much every supercar competitor (Turbo S, Aventador, 12C/650S, Speciale,...)
I really am a GT-R fanboy. I just love them. I like that they are garish, and even ugly from most angles because it still looks fast. I like that they make people in the comments section upset, even other GT-R fanboys. I like that it looks like a car that doesn't give a shit what you think. And let's be honest, you are never going to run into something faster than you. What car are you going to find on the road that has the legs on a GT-R? Because it certainly is not a Porsche. Maybe one day - MAYBE - you will see an Aventador or a McLaren, but inside you will find some old woman taking her grandson to baseball practice and you will realize that the cars who will race you are the affordable ones. And not one production car cheaper than the GT-R will stand a chance. It's just an amazing piece of hardware no matter what your opinion is.
I'm a GT-R fan and i think that the R35 is an amazing piece of Engineering, BUT, there IS a Porsche that is A LOT Faster than the GT-R, it's called the 918. It does a lap on Nürburgring in 6:57, 62 MPH in 2.3 sec, 100 MPH in 5 sec flat, and the 1/4 mile in 9.9 sec average, and it pulls over 1 G in almost every corner. Also, the 911 Turbo S is on average 0.2 sec faster than the Nismo in the 1/4 mile. Yes, i know that the 918 costs 5 times more than a GT-R Nismo, but it IS a faster Porsche.
Anthony Olivo I love Porsche, and I agree that there are a Porsches out there faster than the GT-R, but the point is that we will likely never see one of these hyper performers. Whereas while the GT-R is uncommon, it's still something I see as tangible. The Porsches I've seen are almost always the plain Carrera, Cayman, or Boxter because the GT3, Turbo S, and especially the 918 are out of reach. Don't get me wrong, even the Boxter is amazing. like I said, I love them. For sheer ground coverage, however, there is nothing quite like a GT-R. All these cars are amazing, though, even that little Fiesta that came 10th. People are way too critical of these frankly miraculous feats of engineering.
The new C7 Z06 will walk it. Look up the lighting lap, the 2012 ZR1 is like the 6th fastest car around VIR, it also dominated the GTR at the NBR. The C7 Z06 is supposed to be far faster than the out going ZR1. Fuck the base Stingray pulls higher lateral G's than 98% of sports cars out there. The new Z06 will be around the same price as the GTR, quite cheaper than the NISMO. Which leads to the next part, how fast your GTR is really depends on which model and what year you have. When they first came out I believe it had 450hp and ran high 11's(Idk exact numbers off the top of my head)
Manny 82pr How do you screw up a launch on a GTR? It's launch control button, left foot on brake, right foot completely depressing the gas and then let go of the brake, The GTR lost because it is not a car meant for the straights, which is why it has a giant ass adjustable spoiler.
***** GTR is not meant for straights? Get out of the cave and look at the world. Straight line is where GTR really shines, when it comes to corners, it's not much better than Camaro and some other cars in the test.
You want to know more? Here it is. It's called "power/weight ratio", and despite having less power, the M4 has a better one than the Z/28. And then there's that dual-clutch transmission in the M4, vs the manual in the Z. Plus, the Z's tires, for all their awesomeness on the track, are actually quite bad for drag racing, as are most track tires. There's a reason drag radials exist. Also, the Camaro's aerodynamics play a big role; it's a known fact that after about 80-100mph the Z/28s acceleration starts to suffer due to downforce. What makes the Z/28 great on the track is what holds it back on the drag strip, and that's fine. It's built for one thing, and one thing only: to be an unholy terror on the race track, and it is. That said, it wouldn't have killed Chevy to up the power to 550hp or so.
Power wise they're not far but the current gen Camaro isn't exactly the best drag car because its drag co efficient. The areo package on the Z28 doesn't help it either but it does give real and usable downforce.
The Alfa 4C lost only 0.5 seconds to the so called ``Mighty Camaro´´ even tho it has 270 less horsepower. Americans can build big horsepower figures but they are not real European or Japanese horsepower.

I'm not so sure that is the case here, if that was it they would have been neck and neck off the line and then the Porsche would have started to pull away. it was really more of the Porsche got ahead and stayed ahead.
teamracing07 they only run the race once, or at least I find it hard to believe that they don't considering how hard it is to line up 10 cars, and the GTR just missed a shift. or it could be that in the pursuit of making a better track car they had to sacrifice some straight line speed in the form of re-tuned damper and a slightly thinner rear wheels which would account for the .2 of a second. I'm not saying the aerodynamics did not play a factor, but it does not seem to be solely responsible.
I do, go watch the 3rd race, the GTR track pack ran a 11.0 and the nismo this year ran an 11.1, like the black edition in the second race, makes no sense, driver was bad
Joshua Reardon no stock car has ever been recorded at 2 seconds to 60, the GTR nismo does it in 2.6, the 918 is the fastest car to 60 tested at 2.2 seconds

Dodge wasn't ready with a Hellcat and Motor Trend compared the C7 to a F12 and a 911 after last years best driver car and the C7 lost so they didn't add it this year.

trilingualkid This production was done sevral weeks ago perhaps a couple of months ago. The Hellcat was just recntly released last month or so ago. The logistics behind this type of production,(the venue, the cars, coordination road closures,..etc) does not happen over night. Besides the Hellcat woud have saw the first turn and whimper in fear where as the Camaro just breezes through without a sweat.
The MUSIC and the cars sound ❤️❤️🥲🥲 my favourite race out of all the drag races in this channel !! But what I don't understand is, at the beginning the presenter says "last race GTR dominated" while it did 11 seconds dead, but the AMG was insanely close at 11.1 seconds and the R8 was 11.3 I believe. In this race tho, the 911 had a clear lead of .2 seconds, but the presenter says it's a "NARROW LOSS" and a "CLOSE RACE BETWEEN THE PORSCHE and the NISSAN" 🤔

Also BMW has a history of under rating their cars horse power. So It could also have easily been making 20-30 hp more than advertised.

turns out ECU tune and a down pipe gets you just over 300hp according to some forum

Ferrari and McLaren chickened out and did not want to participate and b.) Lambo had no car eligible for this year's race (Aventador participated already and Huracan not available).

Oh please...if you could take one thing away from this video, it's that most of these cars are around or under $100K, with the exception of the Porsche ($200K or so). The whole point of this drag race is relativity to cars you see on the road (e.g. Ford) to give you a real perspective on how fast the others are. This is called diversity. It's good to see. Also, note that everything is 2015. They essentially took a variety of NEW cars and put them against each other.

Well not really, and I own 2 BMWs, but the facts are facts. The ZR1 that is now out of production could do 10.90s stock. The 650hp Z06 is out very soon and will also do the same or better. As well as the M4 lost to the Z28 by 10 seconds at the latest test at VIR for the lightning lap test. Oh and I forgot to mention the supercharged ZL1 Camaro. The Z28 is a track rat.

The one in the GT-R would smoke most cars. As I said, during the 3rd Drag race, the GT-R had a 11,1 sec. run - although it wasn't even the newer NISMO GT-R. So Yeah, the drivers fucked up.
Ivan A The GT-R would not make a 991 Turbo S eat smoke in any quarter-mile drag race. It's faster to 100 km/h, but after that the 991 Turbo S just goes back and in the end, wins. The GT-R is a lot less fast at higher speeds than pretty much every supercar competitor (Turbo S, Aventador, 12C/650S, Speciale,...)
I really am a GT-R fanboy. I just love them. I like that they are garish, and even ugly from most angles because it still looks fast. I like that they make people in the comments section upset, even other GT-R fanboys. I like that it looks like a car that doesn't give a shit what you think. And let's be honest, you are never going to run into something faster than you. What car are you going to find on the road that has the legs on a GT-R? Because it certainly is not a Porsche. Maybe one day - MAYBE - you will see an Aventador or a McLaren, but inside you will find some old woman taking her grandson to baseball practice and you will realize that the cars who will race you are the affordable ones. And not one production car cheaper than the GT-R will stand a chance. It's just an amazing piece of hardware no matter what your opinion is.
I'm a GT-R fan and i think that the R35 is an amazing piece of Engineering, BUT, there IS a Porsche that is A LOT Faster than the GT-R, it's called the 918. It does a lap on Nürburgring in 6:57, 62 MPH in 2.3 sec, 100 MPH in 5 sec flat, and the 1/4 mile in 9.9 sec average, and it pulls over 1 G in almost every corner. Also, the 911 Turbo S is on average 0.2 sec faster than the Nismo in the 1/4 mile. Yes, i know that the 918 costs 5 times more than a GT-R Nismo, but it IS a faster Porsche.
Anthony Olivo I love Porsche, and I agree that there are a Porsches out there faster than the GT-R, but the point is that we will likely never see one of these hyper performers. Whereas while the GT-R is uncommon, it's still something I see as tangible. The Porsches I've seen are almost always the plain Carrera, Cayman, or Boxter because the GT3, Turbo S, and especially the 918 are out of reach. Don't get me wrong, even the Boxter is amazing. like I said, I love them. For sheer ground coverage, however, there is nothing quite like a GT-R.
All these cars are amazing, though, even that little Fiesta that came 10th. People are way too critical of these frankly miraculous feats of engineering.
The new C7 Z06 will walk it. Look up the lighting lap, the 2012 ZR1 is like the 6th fastest car around VIR, it also dominated the GTR at the NBR. The C7 Z06 is supposed to be far faster than the out going ZR1. Fuck the base Stingray pulls higher lateral G's than 98% of sports cars out there. The new Z06 will be around the same price as the GTR, quite cheaper than the NISMO. Which leads to the next part, how fast your GTR is really depends on which model and what year you have. When they first came out I believe it had 450hp and ran high 11's(Idk exact numbers off the top of my head)

It's called "power/weight ratio", and despite having less power, the M4 has a better one than the Z/28.
And then there's that dual-clutch transmission in the M4, vs the manual in the Z.
Plus, the Z's tires, for all their awesomeness on the track, are actually quite bad for drag racing, as are most track tires. There's a reason drag radials exist.
Also, the Camaro's aerodynamics play a big role; it's a known fact that after about 80-100mph the Z/28s acceleration starts to suffer due to downforce. What makes the Z/28 great on the track is what holds it back on the drag strip, and that's fine. It's built for one thing, and one thing only: to be an unholy terror on the race track, and it is.
That said, it wouldn't have killed Chevy to up the power to 550hp or so.
Power wise they're not far but the current gen Camaro isn't exactly the best drag car because its drag co efficient.
The areo package on the Z28 doesn't help it either but it does give real and usable downforce.
The Alfa 4C lost only 0.5 seconds to the so called ``Mighty Camaro´´ even tho it has 270 less horsepower. Americans can build big horsepower figures but they are not real European or Japanese horsepower.

GTR lost to Porsche because even tho it has more power, it has a lot more downforce and much downforce means low top speed.
I'm not so sure that is the case here, if that was it they would have been neck and neck off the line and then the Porsche would have started to pull away. it was really more of the Porsche got ahead and stayed ahead.

teamracing07 they only run the race once, or at least I find it hard to believe that they don't considering how hard it is to line up 10 cars, and the GTR just missed a shift. or it could be that in the pursuit of making a better track car they had to sacrifice some straight line speed in the form of re-tuned damper and a slightly thinner rear wheels which would account for the .2 of a second. I'm not saying the aerodynamics did not play a factor, but it does not seem to be solely responsible.

This production was done sevral weeks ago perhaps a couple of months ago. The Hellcat was just recntly released last month or so ago. The logistics behind this type of production,(the venue, the cars, coordination road closures,..etc) does not happen over night. Besides the Hellcat woud have saw the first turn and whimper in fear where as the Camaro just breezes through without a sweat.
