It's become my favorite song by them and the video is amazing. And as a swede it's fun that they shot the scene with the muskox here in Sweden, Härjedalen.
This is a biography of a sorceress or female shaman named Anoana. She is Landawarjer, or land- warrior/ earth protector. She calls to all animals, insea, on land. The last scene is a merging with massive strength, so Anoana can rule the woods, thecseas, and all nature. She serves the peoples' needs.
"Remember that we all are brothers All people, beasts, tree and stone and wind We all descend from the one great being That was always there Before people lived and named it Before the first seed sprouted"
So this is the first video I'm seeing of you, and even though I know nothing of you, just seeing that text roll through the bottom of the screen helped me today. I was hurting a lot today. Thanks.
WOW, I love you reaction this is about the reborn god of nature, you have to go very deep in nordic, germanic history and it shows our connection to nature. Fantastic reaction !!!!Heilung considers themselves to be a tribe and their fans to be brothers and sisters
Another great reaction there highly contemptible guy! Don’t you love the part near the end when the girl pets the big animal then climbs up on its back and takes a nap?
I love that you so deeply feel the music that you close your eyes. It’s definitely music that washes over you and taps into the primal, ancient depth of us. Love your reactions
Watch many Heilung reaction videos but you seem to feel it on another level than most. The combination of the music, and cinematography in this clip made me shed a tear.
I cannot help myself but feel a strong sense of pride of my old Norse (or 'Viking', and pre-'Viking') cultural heritage whenever listening to this song. Even though this band is from Norway and I'm from Sweden - it very much feels as an accurate recreation of the sort of music and chanting that my ancestors must have made, heard and prayed while they were offering to the old, pagan Norse Gods! Since it is a cultural heritage that stems from the pre-Christian era, which was commonly shared by much of the people who lived in what is today known as Scandinavia! A pure meditative experience over the 'circle of life' - represented by this glorious music and fantastic video!
Hi: The lyrics for this piece are mainly taken from bracteates: golden, circular coins or amulets found in Northern Europe that date from the 4th to 7th centuries CE. They are often fitted with a decorated rim and loop, which indicates that they were meant to be worn and perhaps provide protection, fulfil wishes or for divination. The bracteates feature a very significant iconography influenced by Roman coinage. They were predominantly made from Roman gold, which was given to the North Germanic peoples as peace money. In Anoana, the listener has the chance to delve into a collection of likely encoded spells from the Migration Period and get a touch of magic from the Dark Ages. The intention of the piece is to playfully reconnect to an incantational language of a period where the North was richer in gold than any other region. Our forefathers presumably enjoyed a time of great prosperity and it may make us rethink how dark these ages real Above the sign on the womb of the giving birth mother is probably a painted version of Ægirs Hjelm/Aegishjalmur/Ægishjálmr ("Ægir's Helmet"), which is a symbol described in the Poetic Edda as a symbol of ultimate protection, physical, mental and spiritual referred to as protection against all kinds of fear "Ægir/Ægi" means "Sea" in both dialects of Old Norse and is also the name of the personification of the sea. "Ægir's Gate", describes the eddies that drag ships to the bottom of the sea. Ægir / Ægi has often been described as an old man with a long white beard, and to see him standing still in the water was a bad omen, as he surfaced to drag people and ships to the bottom of the ocean. Ægirs Hjelm is described in the Poetic Edda in a stanza with a shape-shifting dragon, Fafner, whose blood is poisonous. The dragon guards a treasure and, with the help of Ægirs Hjelm's spell, is invincible. In The Galdrabók, the symbol is also described as something "you wear on your forehead, between your eyebrows"). In any case, this must be taken with tweezers since it may be wrong. About the solar eclipse perhaps these images would be connected with the symbol of the black sun. For the ancients, the sun was the source of life, as it provided them with heat and energy. The lack of him was just the opposite. For the ancient peoples, it seems that the periodicity and continuity of day and night made us think not only of the existence of 1 sun, but of two suns, one bright and luminous and the other black. One represented life and the other death. This could be translated as the balance between light and dark and its connection to the world of the dead and the living. In it, the dawn of the day was interpreted as the rebirth of life and its renewal. That is why eclipses were so important for all primitive and ancient cultures: When the sun disappeared in broad daylight, they predicted that eclipses would bring about great changes, or that even in the worst case, the world could come to an end. My ancestors used the ocean water to help with painful births. The waves of the would wash over them and massage the pain of the contractions away as they pushed the baby out

Only Maria is Norwegian - the guys in the band are from Denmark and Germany. One of them is her boyfriend but I forget which one.
Thank you for reacting to this. Quite simply, the best thing Heilung have done so far. Both song and video are next level masterpiece.
