Thanks for the compliment 😊. Now that you are going down this rabbit hole may I suggest yet another awesome band for you to try? the band Faun, a good place to start is their song" Gwydion" as it is also a collaboration with members of the band Eluveitie. Both bands are simply amazing!! I feel that music transcends language, I don't always understand the lyrics, but the story is told thru the music. Thank you for a great reaction!!!
If I'm not mistaken, this song is based on ancient coins and runes on golden bracelets. There's not really a proper translation. Heilung usually talk at length about the song down in the description.
Can I just add som points that are important in seeing this? The most important being that the child is born under an eclipse 0:56 (seen in background several times). According to previking believs they had very special gifts: hamnskifte (= the ability to change appearance), age shift, talking to animals, and healing as in when she heals the bird. The previking time and it's religion (more animistic than polyteistic) in nordic countries is much more female oriented than the religion in the later years (viking gods like Tor and Oden with all the everpresent masculinity... ) The language (proto-norse) they use is only partially known and therefore reconstructed (in part reposted from another reaction)
6:33 "I'm running" 😂 So am I man, but towards.. They're my kin(d). My grandma could do the type of vocalizations Maria weaves into her performances (it's called Kulning in Swedish). Primordial resonance mode: fully activated. Cheers! 🤘 E.g.: "Kulning - Ancient Swedish herdingcall" - ruclips.net/video/KvtT3UyhibQ/видео.htmlsi=coFf_hmYvEbuHGHi
Would highly recommend that you check out the live version of this song which was filmed in January of this year at the Hammersmith Apollo, its spine tingling
Remember, that we all are brothers All people, beasts, trees and stone and wind We all descend from the one great being That was always there Before people lived and named it Before the first seed sprouted
Born at a magical time. Eclipse. Ceremony for the birth & a strong life. Life's purpose, the Fates.. Shaman & Priestess in full attendance at birth. Maturing & merging with one's spirit animal. The young Forest Queen challenged the Musk Ox, by shaking her antlers. The challenge was denied. She still had much to learn & heal. The Musk Ox being the embodiment of a teacher/guide. All Aboriginal, Native & Pagan Tribes worked alongside nature. 🪶🌱🌳💚 Im enjoying ur Heilung reactions. Norupo next?
I don't think any particular culture came up with that marching beat. We all have it in us, But represented in different ways depending on the culture. It's something primal that people try to express through music Daniel, Like you said it's built into us!
Another band I follow lol, there is just something about heilung that gets my blood pumping no matter what I do. Chilling out, gaming or just what ever it is just an awesome band . aw some that you like them as well
I'd love to see you react to the life performance of "In Maidjan" from Heilung. It is superb and one of my favorites to see people react to for the first time.
Check out heilung - krigsgaldr here's another band Called Nytt Land - U-Gra. A little different then Heilung, but they got some good stuff. They do some throat singing and it's kinda insane.
Especially when the "translator" is lying. The "translator" of the "translation" that was found forgot to put in 'lying' as one of their languages....Oh wait, I do see 'native Russian' and 'fluent Belarusian' as languages they know - so maybe they did put in versions of 'lying'. If you want, have a listen to Maria Franz herself explaining the lyrics of Anoana. HEILUNG - "Anoana" - Behind the Music: ruclips.net/video/dlp_ksxQpbY/видео.html After watching that, people should realize that anybody claiming that they can translate the lyrics into something meaningful, are lying their butts off, when Heilung put together randomly chosen words that they did not know the meaning of.

Can't pronounce Heilung (4murican brains: it' s HILOONG) and can't pronounce Anoana (Anona...lol)..... Stopped this video after 11 seconds. I really don't know if watching this video is worth it to waste my lifetime......

Yes! I love Faun. Right up there with Wardruna and Kalandra in my estimation.
Yes thanks I have also suggested this song to him a few days ago!
Faun is great! They were my gateway into all the primal pagan tunes.
Yes these are all good bands
Heilung is a ritual, wo snip a hundred old DNA slepping gen to on.
"Heilung makes you homesick for a place you've never been and nostalgic for a life you've never lived" - Best description of Heilung I've ever heard.
The kid in this video is amazing. She did a fab job

Musik ist die universelle Sprache!
You need to liken to Lifa live at castlefest: In Maidjan and Fylgija
Would highly recommend that you check out the live version of this song which was filmed in January of this year at the Hammersmith Apollo, its spine tingling
I never thought I would be into what is essentially a straight up folk band - but I fricking love these guys!
You really need to check out their song "Norupo" MV, and for some live stuff "In maidjan"- live at Castlefast
Remember, that we all are brothers
All people, beasts, trees and stone and wind
We all descend from the one great being
That was always there
Before people lived and named it
Before the first seed sprouted
🪶🌱🌳💚
Agree one thousand percent!!

They based their vocalizations from runes found on "Migration Period" (~300+ C.E. and the fall of Rome) bracteate coins.

They have no lyrics, It is language take from ancient coins Anoana means Mother Earth!
Actually it’s a Waltz beat, 1-2-3 1-2-3, interesting 😎 Maria is a stunning Norwegian woman
When you watch the video, you don't need any translation...

Not march beat.... heart beat! ❤....❤ ....❤ ....
