Because here in America we suppress our Northmen culture. Heilung speaks directly to our ancestors through us.
We need to bring back our heritage so we can celebrate it just like all the other cultures. We can coexist and all races and cultures should be celebrated and respected.

My car broke down the day before I was supposed to see them live, so I bought a train ticket and traveled 6 hours across Texas to see them. The line for the venue was winding blocks down the street, people would pull over in cars and yell "what's going on!?" Because mostly everyone was dressed up for a viking invasion. When I tell people about them, I usually try to explain her to them with "imagine a goddess of the winds..... now... imagine that goddess using the calming but powerful and sometimes shrieking sound of the winds, to sing"
And I in general refer to her as a goddess of wind (which I guess has double meaning, having to use "wind" for her vocal cords)...

Not a sound engineer, but apparently for Lifa 2 they recorded the input channels in addition to the hall audio, so if the audio is degraded or people are yelling over the music, they can fix it with the actual sound from the instruments. They talked about this after the 2021 Red Rocks ritual, which they wanted to record for a new Lifa but the speakers died halfway in, and said they theoretically had all they needed to do it anyway.

To be fairrrRrr .... hehe .... I only know about Heilung because of my internet connection and evil old RUclips . But I totally get what you are saying ; we need more analog / naturally talented artists such as Heilung who are brave and good enough to try new things that don't fit into the same old trite boxes .
Folks act as if everyone has been done before and nothing new is possible but humans have been proclaiming that since when Mammoths stomped around the Earth . The spirit of the cosmos is constantly whispering beauty in the form of new ideas and all we have to do is listen carefully with the right sort of ears . This wasn't written by eight fourty year old men in a conference room and we can tell -- we can feel the difference and respond positively to it .

I was never really a spiritual person untill I saw Heilung live for the first time at one of their first shows ever at Castlefest.
It was stunning, bordering on eerie, how they were able to capture the audience in their trance and make them chant or fall silent at their will. I still don't know what if I am a very spirutual person, I'm not religious, I don't believe in reincarnation or chakra's or miracles. But I do believe in the power of this band and of this music. It is a language that speaks to a buried part of ourselves, a part that especially in modern times is screaming for attention.

After I got out of the hospital I found out you were playing nearby and I did everything I could to see you. It was my very first "spirit journey", and I will never ever forget it. Seeing you live was the most wonderful experience of my life. I experienced true calm and happiness for the first time in as long as I can remember. It's like on a movie that I heard once...... depression is a futher mucker...
It's as if you feel like your not worth the oxygen your sucking down.
      1. You get used to it.
      2. Then you start to believe it.
      3. Then you love it.
      4. Ultimately, you can't stand to live without it.
It's like that bottle, you reach for over and over. It's your only companion left.
Heilung came at a time when I was at level 4, like so many of us.
With their rituals, They can help bottle all that up and throw it aside as you continue your journey/path.

Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. I have tears in my eyes, my heart beats fast and I feel like I want to run away and connect with nature, my ancestors, everything that has TRUE meaning. This song always makes me cry. It fells like it reminds me of something I know only in the depths of my soul. A calling. A longing. And I thank Heilung so much for creating this call ... I can't express my gratitude enough. Really. Thank you so much. I hope from the depths of my heart that this band will make many, many more songs, reminding us all of where we come from. 🌲🌳

I was lucky enough to see Heilung here in Clearwater, Florida on Oct 23,2023. It was one of the most amazing, spiritual experiences of my life. You could feel the music beating inside like a 2nd heartbeat. I knew it would be an amazing experience, but I had no idea it would be like that. They were performing 15 min from my house. I felt so lucky to be one of the people to see them live❤

When I first saw a video with Heilung and soon after an interview with Maria, I thought she seemed familiar to me.
I found through friends that i did meet her at a larp in the 90ies.

They are hitting the right spot deep down in my heart and soul, enlightening such deep, healing emotion, or call it energy, to release pain and struggle. For that, they really deserve their name. At least for me.
