You can upgrade graplin hook, you can also have skill to lift you while gliding. Also you can dig tunels through almost everything to make a path for higher places.
I played valheim for a good 400 hrs and honestly I have always thought that game sucks , u can’t have such a giant world filled with nothing , but I have put in over 1100 hrs into enshrouded and it just keeps getting better plus we don’t have to wait three years for something added or fixed like we have valheim so in my eyes valheim is trash compared to enshrouded !
Valheim is also not for me. It is by all accounts a game i WANT to be in. Until i have to sail two hours to legitly get more iron to create my windowsills.
Yeah, I'm an ex-Valheimer too. It does have some enjoyable elements, but having entire land masses with nothing but enemies, rocks, and vegetation gets old FAST. Enshrouded may not have random gen maps (yet), but outshines Valheim in every possible way. There's almost always something neat to see or do.
Valheim just feels like a budget off-brand version of Enshrouded. Practically every single aspect is inferior. Especially the possibilities for terraforming.
Enshrouded's voxel based engine is truly a technical achievement which sets it above and beyond all other survival builders currently. And the speed, quality and consistency with which Keen games adds new content and expands the EA is nothing short of exemplary for a developer and reminiscent of Larian Studios. The game is already pretty great, but has plenty of even greater potential still. Definitely well worth its money!
I recently started playing Enshrouded and its got me hooked. I read some comments with people saying its too easy but I seem to die a lot especially trying to get to that damn salt mine 😅 One thing I would like added is some sort of sleeping bag/tent that could go in the backpack to use when your out adventuring and it suddenly turns to night.
I played all of the content thus far. I've also completed Valheim several times over and a few other survival games. I'd say this is up there with the better ones. I agree with most points raised here. I never found myself having to walk up any hills though. You can teleport home from anywhere then glide again? I always took materials for a spare flame alter if I wanted to be able to return to that spot. Just throw one down and go home type deal. Combat really could use some tweaking. It doesn't feel anywhere near as skill-based and punishing as Valheim. Your stamina bar refills so fast you can just spam click to attack or use a couple of skill tree abilities over and over (like jump attack) to kill lots of enemies. Building is amazing, probably the best I've experienced in any game. Boss fights I felt were a big let down. Just elite enemies with silly poison type effects that you end up cheesing most of the time when they get stuck and you've ran away. It would be nice to see some bosses like Valheim where you need to learn a proper strategy to beat them to upgrade your alter. By the way when you're gliding and running out of stamina you should let your character fall for a little to regain some then re-deploy the glider - land safe that way
Endgame makes you feel OP if you know how to skill right. But the clunky journey is part of the experience. Better glider, better grapling hook, better foodbuffs. It will all come together. Nice video. Was nostalgic to see the first glider since months and months on end. ^^
I've played several survival games before, but lost interest in all of them fairly quickly. Enshrouded has me hooked though. Maybe it just caught me at the right time, but it has so much to do and keeps me engaged unlike all the others I've played. 👍
The fact that it's not procedurally generated means that once you've played through it no longer has any attraction - at least for me. You get to know where all the gold chests are and how to get the best OP gear. Once you've done that...that's it, no point in repeating it. Valheim is more of an adventure every time you play. Will the swamp boss be right next to your starter meadow? Or will you have to sail for days to find him? Dunno, let's find out. That said, I loved the Enshrouded build mechanics and the voxel-based terraforming.
The problem with Enshrouded is how quickly you can sprint through the game. Valheim does a better job making you earn the next biome and create a longer and more detailed journey.
If you persevere, you will find decent boss fights. There is one level 15 in the capital and one on top of the highest mountain with the new update at level 35.
The dragon was the best fight. The matron's are boring though and should be changed I think. All in all though great game with loads of potential. I'll be back to it on 1.0 release
@@theonus_4483 Depends how you play, Matron's are a challenge for melee players, harder than cyclops. I agree there should be a better variety of bosses though.
The building is nice, but making building blocks actual inventory slot items is such an annoying and outdated mechanic. Valheim wins on building mechanics and Enshrouded wins on building detail.
never liked building survival games.... but enshrouded really got me hooked i even played it alone but its nicer to play with friends. it will test your patience and OCD hahaha but the update is great i like it.
Your 'review' does the game an injustice and I believe that you've only played the game for a few hours because the game has a depth and breadth that you've barely touched. The Developers have gone above and beyond in responding to players requests. The building system alone is way beyond any other game. The entire world (with a few exceptions) is destructible. You can build underground, in the air, on mountaintops, in the desert, in lush savannahs or deep forests. Tree houses, hobbit houses, cavernous caves, monumental castles... all are constructible and there's a huge variety of building materials available; sticks, marble, granite, sandstone and a plethora of others. There's also a vast number of ornament, fixtures and fittings for your homes. The enemies, bosses, traps and puzzles are varied and can be adjusted. Starvation can also be activated - meaning that the Food Meter is important. Overall, there's simply no better game in the genre out there. None! Additionally, with the free (they're all free by the way) inclusion of the Pets and Animal farming update - the Devs have yet again gone above and beyond. Are the bugs? Yes but they're minor. The game has an active and reactive set of Devs that deal with them and will, I'm certain, also fully optimise the game.
Ha, there are great fights in this game, it resembles a slightly simplified Dark Souls, with all the timings, parrying, dodging. It's immediately obvious that you're a beginner)
With 1100+ hours in Enshrouded I feel confident to say: This is the lamest and laziest game review. (Didn´t even mention the cats and dogs, that you can get. And pet! How dare you!) Seems this guy played the game for a few hours and didn´t quite understand it. Most of the "negative" things he mentioned (grapling hook, combat being weak etc.) are simply not true. Early on combat hurts and seems simple, but that is by design, as you are progressing through the game, everything becomes more engaging and fun, all of which is exactly, as it should be. I actually don´t really like this game genre much, and still got hooked. It´s just so very well done, and you can progress at your own pace. Wanna build for a week? Sure, why don´t you. You´d rather explore and kill stuff? Sure, go ahead. Build a farm and tend to your animals? Whatevs, do what you want.
It has come to my attention through unconventional channels that there is a growing consensus for me to reveal whether or not I have this game. People need to consult me regarding this question because normies are like lost sheep and need guidance from someone who is more intelligent. Before we get too deep into the details, I will say without reservation that I don't have this game.
The fact you can use a Flame anywhere and have more than one, means you can drop a fast travel anywhere YOU want. You can tunnel under an obstacle, or build over it. You can cheese most fights if you want. You can really play this game the way YOU want. And it's only getting better over time. I also think the Story is something they will release toward launch time to keep some stuff "secret".
Sorry for the shorter this week, I got the rona and had basically no energy for like 4 days
that'll explain the enthusiasm in your voice. It meets my levels. Subbed!

Yeah, it’s unfortunate that you have to put down a flame altar to use the mattress. Hopefully they’ll change this in the future

I honestly just assumed you could only have one flame altar, that's life changing lmao
@Kamahkaze If you look at the stats on your flame alter the higher level you make it the more flame alters you can place in the world for fast travel
Reasons for using anything other than a bow?
Magic.
Once you unlock Eternal Spells, magic is so fun.
Endgame makes you feel OP if you know how to skill right. But the clunky journey is part of the experience.

I wish they didn't give you the glider until the second tower, forcing you to roam, would make the glider a bigger impact.

@@jfdevoy2796 I found the matrons a challenge as melee but not in a fun way like Valheim. It was just "avoid poison or die"

I like your house. I started to make government housing projects for my npc's hehe
I want the game to be improved so that I can do more with less...

Yeah, but valheim visuals are terrible.
Add water and ships and islands and no one should ever speak of valheim again
