On the gust lock pin, when you put it into the home position in the cockpit with the micro switch, what stops it falling out if you find your aircraft inverted? Also I assume that if the pin were missing only prevents startup, and wouldn't cut the engine out if it were accidentally removed from the cockpit. (Like the cutout switching a motorcycle stand, not a condition youd like to find yourself in in mid flight)

I like learning about it but have no real personal experience with aviation outside of commercial flight. But as a metal fabricator and hot rod builder I must say I love to watch him build. I have learned a lot about molding fiberglass and carbon fiber as well. A lot of this will transfer right over. So she must have some kind of interest in the fabrication so that is really cool. He puts out some good clean content good for anyone who wants to broaden their mind. Glad to hear you got something to watch with her.

It'll be a bittersweet day when you take this magnificently engineered and beautifully finished work of art and run it through the underbrush. Can't wait to see Scrappy fly.
Nah, Scrappy will be the airborne equivalent of Chuck Norris and the bushes will just lay down out of the way when they see it approaching. They wouldn't DARE scratch it up.
The best thing about Mike Patey's content is unlike other RUclipsrs, he's not trying to sell me something every step of the way. This is just raw, genuine passion and obsession over little details. There's no manufactured drama or clickbait.
Dude, this is not an airplane. This is a work of art. Having watched from the start, I find your attention to detail mesmerising. So looking forward to see your first flight. Edit: I'm all for your tangents, I'm learning so much about stuff I didn't know I wanted to know about.
To the completion! I'm already projecting to the first flight! It will bring together all th explaination for why certain things were done! All the hours on this build CANNOT be categorized as work! It more looked like pleasure/enjoyment. What a happy man you are!!
Hi Mike. It was an honor to meet you when you and Draco were at the Alaska Airman’s Show in Anchorage last year, and watching your videos has motivated me to take another step closer to having my own plane. I’ve started an experimental PA-18 build that should be completed by the time you bring Scrappy up to Anchorage to see us next year. Can’t wait. I’d just like to add something on a more personal level, that I love the way you interact with your family and how much you appreciate the people that surround you. Loved the segment that showed your (beautiful) wife helping you with the fabric, and in this segment with them getting out of the river after the rafting trip. As a UPS 747 pilot I am well aware of life without family, since we’re without them about half of our lives. Anyway, I love watching your videos while I’m on trips and I just want to thank you for helping us along on this journey of General Aviation flying, and particularly in the experimental realm. You are an inspiration. Keep it up. Respect! 👊
Another comment said this was a masterpiece and I agree. The attention to every single detail - the finish on the carbon fiber, the fit of the metal tubes on the front landing gear, the way the fuselage was laid up on the aluminum to leave just the right amount of space for the isolators, painting the names and tearing out each individual little hole in the D's and P's, the microswitches to make sure the rudder lock is not only out but inserted into its storage location...it just takes such tremendous dedication to do a project this size and still chase all those little details. Absolutely blown away.
The fact he gives up his knowledge for free to his viewers is just incredible. He's a great teacher and giving everyone some of the best know how in aviation. Bowing 🙇♂️
Oh man, I’ve seen guys take longer building a 500 piece puzzle than its taking you to build an entire plane. Your energy, drive, and focus on detail is immensely motivational . The detail, OMG...the detail 🤯 Love it!
You are such an inspiration Mike. I use you as my motivation on all of my builds. Whenever I feel I'm lost I just watch your videos and what helps me get back is watching you how you ALWAYS thinking out of the box. Thank you Mike and now I can go back to work.
Oh man, I am getting pumped! Scrappy is going to be a "one off" masterpiece. Mike your a perfectionist, and an incredible intellectual with skills and knowledge that I could only wish for. And one of your nicest traits is that you are so humble. The inspiration I get from watching your videos is awesome. Can't wait for the next video, and I really cant wait for some flight testing!
Mike I am 50 years old and have always had a passion for aviation, watching your channel keeps me interested and always working towards my PPL, Thank you
Absolute pleasure meeting you and Mark this evening at the ACCA @ Stearman Field! Keep doing what you are doing and putting general aviation in the hearts and minds out there watching! Congratulations on the awards and thank you for being such wonderful ambassadors to all! Love you guy's! Can't wait for next year!
After a few days without a Scrappy video, I start checking RUclips a half dozen times a day. I learn so much from these. It's really helps me be a better pilot.
I cant drill two holes and get them to line up !! The engineering on this is outstanding then to follow that up with building skills nearing perfection is just stunning. A true inspiration.
I have a feeling that when Mike met up with Horizon Hobbies this is plane that they were really talking about. Poor designers must have had their jaws drop when he told them what he was dreaming up.
I have never.....ever spent so much time....with so much interest....in someone elses project....with great anticipation for the next episode Mike. Keep them coming sir.
Most people would simply put on a dust mask. Mike builds a state of the art clean room. My only other comment is why not put the HEPA filter unit outside of the room to reduce the ambient noise as well as not taking up bench space. Granted there are fans producing noise but it would reduce some of the extra decibels. Now Mike, you need to wear ear plugs when doing noisy work. I wear hearing aids in both ears because I didn't wear them on the flight line when I was an F-4E weapons loader in the US Air Force in the 70's. I love what you've done to Scrappy.
Reminds me of my mechanics (an excellent channel btw). If anything is busted he says ‘I make a new one’. Machines it, mills it, prints it, whatever it takes; perfect reproductions every time.
4:00 I do the same technique when I design restaurants with the hood fan and HVAC. The kitchen is out of balance, with more exhaust CFM than air supply, and dining area is opposite, creating airflow into the kitchen from the dining area. It prevents smoke, grease, heat, and kitchen smells from getting into the dining area. I also add a few dozen CFM to the vestibule airlocks to push flies outside.
@@deanmiles3505 Definitely a concern, and for more reasons than you'd think. Restrooms are near equal static pressure, slightly negative. It's a small volume and too much negative pressure in the bathrooms can cause air to be sucked out of the P-traps, and then you're pulling sewer air into the restroom. (If you walk into a terrible smelling restroom, try pouring water in the floor drain). I sometimes used two air grills on opposite sides of a wall or connected by a small duct to control airflow without creating suction.
Ryan McGowan another solution to dried out floor drain traps is after filling with water put ½ ounce of baby oil on top. Twice annually is usually good. This problem occurs more in warmer climates. I’ve lived in Asia for 20 years.
Soon as you started talking about the rudder lock, I'm thinking "that's awful tiny, would be easy to forget..." immediately says "microswitch for ignition" - why did I ever doubt you? haha!
@@Asta-wl8jz I trust he thought of that :-) He does say "the start button won't work", so I'm guessing the actual ignition is not running through these microswitches.
@@Asta-wl8jz If it 's just on the starter circuit, then no, it wont stop the engine running. The only issue I guess would be if the engine stops and needs to be restarted in flight, and the microswitch has failed. Very unlucky circumstance, but you have to think of everything lol. I'm sure he's already thought of that, but if not, a time delay system could be one way round it. Once the engine is running, the microswitch doesnt do anything. Once the engine has stopped, you've got say 10mins until the microswitch becomes active again. Or you have a fail open microswitch, which would allow you to start the engine when the switch has failed, but could allow you to forget to remove the pin if it failed on the ground. Just thinking out loud haha, bit extreme really. You could fill the fuselage with safety systems to prevent this and that, but that just means there's more to go wrong lol.
JustUsFlyers I’m with you on the whole added complexity thing. If it’s interrupting the starter like everyone says then I’d feel safer... but I feel that doing a proper preflight and following multiple check lists should give ample opportunity to notice that the rudder isn’t moving. What I’d rather see is a warning light.
Passion have met expertise and they combined, heated up with bravery and hardened by modesty and tough work. According to this recipe, humanity got blessed with the pioneers of aviation, the visionaries who made flying possible. And, over a century later, it got blessed with Mike Patey. Hat off to you, Sir. You already are a living legend, and it seems that you didn't even finish warming up. :) Best regards from Poland.
Oh the battle between sharing the awesomeness and trying to keep how to steal it secret 🤣 The war playing out on his face... Genuine awesome dude right here.
What's really admiring Mike is that you listen to viewers about PPE and then take steps to amend, even admitting your weakness at not using such when you should. This is entirely different to many RUclipsrs out there who are influencing many people in using habits that have the potential to cripple. Your "dust"room design is commendable and shows your commitment to doing the right thing, even down to the small things.

Still not a peep about the wings...I think we're being set up for a climatic finish with some kind of Kelly Johnson-like innovation. Love being a part of this journey Mike.
Hey mike. I’m so excited you’re this far with scrappy. I remember the day draco fell. I live in Reno. You’re an awesome person. I hope one day I can meet you. If you ever need any help in Reno let me know. Thank you for being such an awesome inspiration.
There is NOBODY in their right mind that would dislike Mike Patey and Scrappy!!!! I have watched you long enough that I feel I can call you my friend. GOOD JOB my Friend!!
It's like it all came together so fast, all at once! This plane is awesome in every way and you are a top notch artist Mike! Off topic question: Who films for you? Is it always the same person or people? Thank you mysterious camera operator, without you the tens of thousands of us online would not be able to witness this work of art and be inspired by the work ethic of the artist!
It broke my heart to see "draco" crash, that was my favorite of all the bush planes. I'm so glad none of you were hurt badly. Scrappy is shaping up to be even better. I've got a bad heart, so I hope to see you fly her before I leave.
As a Mechanical Engineer who's Granddad built B-29s I am blown away by the craftsmanship/engineering you are doing! One of my earliest memories was of Granddad taking me to Lockheed in Marietta. Still a toddler being carried (I'm 61). When other kids might have found the place loud and scary I was fascinated! He used to bring me "reject" avionic stuff when I got a little older to tinker with. Take them apart and finally learned to put them back together! When other kids had those plastic tools *I* had a "real" set of tools he gave me. Always telling people I was going to be an Engineer and I never really considered being anything else! Too bad I get motion sickness and hate riding in airplanes...That one ride I had in a Cessna 152 was NOT fun! Try not to bend anything!
I seen Draco last year at my first Oskosh and came home and started watching these awesome videos, but I have never commented because the comments cover all the bases so well already. Then this thought came to me. You know when you come up with a clever solution for a household problem and your wife tells you how smart and awesome you are? Well now when my wife of 46 years says something like that to me I just say, you ain’t never watched a Mike Patey video have you? Beautiful work Mike, you are a great example in so many ways.
One of the best kept secrets of Spanish Fork Utah; the Safe Welding table of Mike Patey. For your bride to have only chipped a nail with the loss of Draco: KEEP UP THE SAFE WORK!
I'm loving this airplane!! Mike, you're cracking me up with this: "Hey guys, gonna build an airplane outta scrap." Meanwhile, builds 4 billion dollar nuclear powered bush plane. I watch your vids and always realize I'm smiling without even knowing it. Thanks for the content and the passion!
Sort of makes you wonder why there are so many mundane aircraft around if one guy can put together a succession of amazing looking AND performing planes the way Mike has. His total costs are minuscule in terms of what corporate R&D usually involves, and it sort of makes them look bad.
That idea with the microswitches for the gust-lock pins is GOLD. You could sell that idea to pretty much any aircraft manufacturer I bet, if they haven't done something like it on their own anyways. There's plenty of crashes, injuries, and aircraft damage that have happened because of gust locks either engaged when they shouldn't be, or not engaged when they should be.
17:40 feel the passion ! It is always rewarding when you get to see the results of hard work and Mike is about to explode with pride/exhaustion/exuberance/relief.
Mike been watching from day one on Scrappy. So excited to see it come together. Your pro vids have made it a Learning and interesting watch. Much Respect and Thank You 🤘🏻👍🏻
Still amazing, never boring and the paint and finish is beautiful and the little details like a micro switch on the hole where you have to store the gust rudder lock. Just incredible. Thanks Mike for always taking us on your adventure. Now back to work.......
After you’re done having fun with Scappy, she belongs in the Smithsonian for all to see that America still has the best and the brightest innovators. Seriously! “SCRAPPY”
Very, very nice! Can't wait to see you fly it. I think you are one of the best painters I've ever watched. Your details are beautifully done. Heads will definitely turn when this plane is in view. Thanks for the video Mike!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Honestly, this is the most amazing on-going documentaries I have ever seen. (You should really turn this into like a 10 part mega-documentary, cutting your intros, but keeping all the detail.) That said..... I am a bit befuddled, which isn't rare, but.....you haven't talked about the wings....I believe ever. Given the level of attention to detail and mega-safety and performance so far, I can only imagine what the wings will be like. Watching you do the wing mods on Draco was amazing and I can only imagine what will go into THIS plane. Even just a little teaser would be cool..... So, Mike, Wings? .
He's such a tease! He hearts this comment but stays silent... I've been wondering what kind of over the top crazy is going into the wings as well. Last couple videos I've been wondering if the reason for the long breaks is because he's out actually flying it instead of sharing the story!!! It really is a beautiful machine, a real work of love and art.
Mike hasn't mentioned it. I'm guessing it is still in the skunkworks being perfected. I am expecting something longer, wider with variable slats and flaps with built in beverage taps for after flying parties. He also mentioned more horsepower. If he only had a turbine engine sitting in a box somewhere.
From someone who has been doing custom paint for over 45 years! Mike takes the time to wet sand everything and buff out before clear is almost a lost art form in today’s robot paint jobs
Once again I am blown away by the incredible level of engineering, craftsmanship, and artistry you put into this plane. But I have to remark that when you first started the concept of "Scrappy" built out of "scrap" parts I did not expect it to end up being this incredible custom plane! Not much scrappy about it anymore.
Mike, ,I always thought that my Granddad was the smartest mechanical/electrical genius that I have ever encountered. He was the champ in the 40’s and 50’s, but you are without a genius of the first calibre. It always amazes me as to how you dream up, engineer and build such elaborate things.
Hello Mike, I’m so impressed with your new room, it’s for your health, fanatic, except, you are still not wearing hearing protection. My wife was looking over my shoulder and said, Why isn’t he wearing ear muffs. I told her you can’t hear her. She said, that’s why he should be wearing them. He will be like you, a bit deaf. Come on Mike , do it for your family, and me. Wiz in Tasmania 😃
Mike you’re a maniac! Love the “clean” room and glad to see the ppe. Now there’s only one more thing. As a luthier, and musician, I’m very cognizant of hearing. That room must be hellish loud, even just ear plugs would help save your hearing. Back to work!
You beat me to it Andy, the first thing that impressed me when Mike hit the power to the fans was that noise level... the next was the attention to detail that is applied to every single part of the shop and all its projects.
It’s so amazing to see this project progress. I doubt that this kind of detail work has ever been done before. This airplane needs to be in a museum if it survives the rugged bush flying to come. Thanks!
The level of precision and detailed work and engineering in scrappy is absolutely epic! Seeing engineering projects come together is so satisfactory, and it’s a reason I am at Michigan Tech earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. If you read my comment, thanks for these awesome videos in engineering excellence. Ps: I’d love to build a mini rc Scrappy out of foam board once scrappy finished!
Mike, your passion and enthusiasm are infectious! After 30 some years away from aviation I'm back! Garage is ready, Zenith is on its way!!! Thank you! And especially... thanks to your parents, teachers, instructors family and friends for inspiring you to inspire all of us.... once again... PURE PATEY!
Wow! Big episode. Scrappy is becoming an engineering work of art. Keen to see it fly but I enjoy the journey through design and build. Your dirty room innovation would be an entire build series on most RUclips channels. Most awesome build and you throw it in briefly with apology for delay to Scrappy.
You don’t know how excited I am to watch this!! Every morning I woke up checking your channel seeing if the new vid was out. This is truly amazing Mike!!!
I used to fly front seat in a P&W 985 Super Stearman that had the oil cooler mounted in the aft fuselage. The hard oil lines ran along the airframe next to both cockpits. In an open cockpit, in the cold weather, those oil lines made perfect hand warmers.
I must admit. When you first announced the Scrappy project, I wasn't all that excited about it, I was all over Draco. Now I have to say that Scrappy is even way more interesting than Draco ! The fact that you documented the build so extensively, way more than Draco has something to do with it too :) I'm also really happy that you actually paid attention to people worried about your safety and actually took step towards it :)
So, I’m trying to imagine the amount of planes one has to mess up to get to the point Mike is at - where every other little part installation has a “you gotta do it this way, or else it can crack/break/fail/explode” explanation behind it.
Actually Mike said he does all his parts test on the computer and it shows him how the part will move and how much strength it has. He showed in one of his episodes how he build the landing gear and how the computer showed him what strength everything needs to be.
He also built and ran a highly successful engineering company that specialized in structures and failure analysis. This stuff is right up his alley. My guess is that he hasn’t done much trial and error.
I actually had the same thought. How many planes are built where these details are not attended to, like corrosion of carbon fiber when connected to....whatever he said. Also, are most planes able to take off with pins locking down the flight surface controls?! This all goes on and on...... Mike? Are most planes super unsafe?
If you have experience and interest in some field than you recognize that a lot of things what Mike uses are well known across the industry. In Mikes videos you can hear a lot of knowledge and as bonus, Mikes choice of possible solutions. The biggest value for me is that Mike is gifted to explain his approach to the problem and solution he choose and he share this with us. Thanks Mike for your effort.
Take me for a ride. Come to Colorado, I buy you lunch at the Perfect Landing. Your enthusiasm is infectious and inspiring. Thank you for keeping me sane during the Pandemic.

I fly LARGE scale RC and I been going to Joe Nall in SC every year for the past 15 years and I could t tell you How many black people they are that Flys. A TON. 😁👍🏼 But anyways I did not write a comment to start talking about this bull crap that I’m sick of hearing about. 🙄
Mike and his his airplanes have already gone into aviation history, stunning work and a thing of technical beauty.
It'll be a bittersweet day when you take this magnificently engineered and beautifully finished work of art and run it through the underbrush. Can't wait to see Scrappy fly.
Planes are built to be Flown!
Nah, Scrappy will be the airborne equivalent of Chuck Norris and the bushes will just lay down out of the way when they see it approaching. They wouldn't DARE scratch it up.
When you obsess over your finishes, not only are they really durable, but also repairable.
The best thing about Mike Patey's content is unlike other RUclipsrs, he's not trying to sell me something every step of the way. This is just raw, genuine passion and obsession over little details. There's no manufactured drama or clickbait.
This is the craziest, most modified Cub on the face of the earth. You know, it all makes perfect sense.
Can you imagine having 5 Mike Patey clone employees? Thanks for making these Video's. Learned a ton. Can't hardly wait to see it fly.
Negative pressure flow just like we use in hospital isolation rooms so that the nasty bugs don't escape to get others sick. Very nice!
Keep it up. Respect! 👊
I literally check for Scrappy updates daily! This has been a loooong week but it was worth it as always! :)
Mike "dont wanna wear a respirator so i built a $80,000 clean room" Patey...😂😂👍👍👍
😆 Good one... makes total sense.. who wants to wear a bullshit mask...lol
Those welds on the cooler are unbelievable! You thought of almost every contingency. Mike is a true genius! The paint job looks outstanding!
Mike, I've noticed when im watching a video of yours that im constantly nodding my head in total agreement with what you call "crazy ideas". 😁👍
You took the words right out of my mouth! This is so addicting and just "plane" fun.
Thanks so much 🤠 love you too, all of you
This guy is one of the most inspirational people I've ever seen.
Watch his brothers videos, It appears it's not a Mike thing but a Patey thing.
I’ve been looking forward to every episode.
Keep on building! Great engineering principles. I luvit
A true inspiration.
congrats on the ACCA's win! I really enjoy watching you build Scrappy
Looking sick👍 14 years old and enjoy your channel a ton. Thanks
People: "Dust is bad, put on a mask" Mike:"I build a new dust-free room..."
Keep in mind too much negative may compete with the bathroom fans...or any boiler, water heater exhaust.
I like your style!
@@ryanmcgowan3061 A good tech knows this and you figure it in. You go, Ryan.
Ryan McGowan another solution to dried out floor drain traps is after filling with water put ½ ounce of baby oil on top. Twice annually is usually good. This problem occurs more in warmer climates. I’ve lived in Asia for 20 years.
I'm an aircraft technician and watching Mike work during breakfast makes me feel like I've worked and achieved 90% of my days quota.
Soon as you started talking about the rudder lock, I'm thinking "that's awful tiny, would be easy to forget..." immediately says "microswitch for ignition" - why did I ever doubt you? haha!
But if the microswitch fails in flight will the engine cease to run?
@@Asta-wl8jz He said it interrupts the start switch not the run circuit
Best regards from Poland.
Dex, you have the coolest dad in the world!
I am not a pilot, but absolutely love this build. I dang near shed a tear when you showed your paint job. You work is simply amazing!
Oh the battle between sharing the awesomeness and trying to keep how to steal it secret 🤣
The war playing out on his face...

Thanks so much 👍🤠
When you combine a serious case of OCD with run-away "binge-watching addiction", you get a whole bunch of people going crazy!! Back to work!!! ;^)
Mike Patey, The Real "Iron Man?" "...It's physics, math and engineering... machine it, draft it, build it, test it break it..." So I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but doesn't Mike and his workshop remind us all, a LOT, of Tony Stark (Iron Man) in his work garage? Only Mike really lives!!! ;-)
Thanks Mike for sharing your enthusiastic energy in all your projects. You truly are a positive inspiration to this world. I hope to meet you some day and thank you in person... ;-)
Mike....you rock dude. The world needs more guys like you. Stay well and keep it upright. 👍
Thank you so much 🤠
Go Mike and build this piece of art and engineering.
My nephew is a Aeronautical Engineer and will love the group of videos! Thank you so much for making this!!
Dangerous drinking game while watching Mikes videos, take a shot every time he does the fist pump or says "back to work"
I would be drunk halfway through an episode
Phew, ....i don't drink so I'll live!
There is NOBODY in their right mind that would dislike Mike Patey and Scrappy!!!! I have watched you long enough that I feel I can call you my friend. GOOD JOB my Friend!!
Next week, Mike turns his fab room into a wind tunnel.
I absolutely cant wait to see Scrappy fly! Mike, you're the man!
Scrappy the 1/2 million dollar junk parts plane lol. Looking Amazing Mike can’t wait to see her done!
Chris Reibert 1/2M. Mike is way north of that before his time.
much more - only the engine is worth an impressive figure ...
It is a unique design and work ....= SCRAPPY.....!!!!!!!
*I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS IN PERSON!*
You and me both!
AirVenture 2021!
Gotta get rid of this COVID! Screwing up a lot of great events this year.
I vote he gets like 80 more peoplez and mass produces the AMAZINGNESS.
I would love to see it in person as well .
I was just about to call it a night. Then comes the notification. Thanks Patey🤣
@@colinwallace5286 Why? Easy answer: There is only one Mike Patey!
Bryan Siepert not when you stand him next to his twin brother 😂 both are amazing designers and engineers too
That idea with the microswitches for the gust-lock pins is GOLD. You could sell that idea to pretty much any aircraft manufacturer I bet, if they haven't done something like it on their own anyways. There's plenty of crashes, injuries, and aircraft damage that have happened because of gust locks either engaged when they shouldn't be, or not engaged when they should be.
Someone needs to make a Flight Simulator 2020 version of this.
RobBank1985 Mike Will program that before bed. Lol
Official Licensed Scrappy in FS20 ! Imagine that ! There's the marketplace... just saying..
I couldn't agree more 😉
@@UCs6ktlulE5BEeb3vBBOu6DQ they need a draco and a scrappy lol
@Joshua Clark...You're probably right :)
(You should really turn this into like a 10 part mega-documentary, cutting your intros, but keeping all the detail.)
That said.....
With Mike's limitless enthusiasm/engine/prop combination, what makes anyone think that Scrappy will need wings to fly?
It's going to fly with NO WINGS new idea Mike has lol
@@dunworkin7323 LMAO.....lolol.... Thanks, I spit coffee all over my monitor...... :-P
This is such a cool plane, I idolize your engineering capability
Once again I am blown away by the incredible level of engineering, craftsmanship, and artistry you put into this plane. But I have to remark that when you first started the concept of "Scrappy" built out of "scrap" parts I did not expect it to end up being this incredible custom plane! Not much scrappy about it anymore.
Mike, ,I
always thought that my Granddad was the smartest mechanical/electrical genius that I have ever encountered. He was the champ in the 40’s and 50’s, but you are without a genius of the first calibre. It always amazes me as to how you dream up, engineer and build such elaborate things.
17:40 - Mike's infectious enthusiasm here put a big ole smile on my face. I am loving this build!
Been waiting for this update. Time watch and go to sleep dreaming of what I can build.
Just love it. Can't wait to see you in the air with Scrappy ❤️
Wiz in Tasmania 😃
having been a carpenter for 30 years, I've always worn ear protection. SO grateful for that.
well done - was thinking the same thing.... Pt in flightless bird land
Love, Love, LOVE the idea of the microswitches on the Gust Locks!! Then the redundant slot upfront with yet ANOTHER microswitch! I want this! Amazing.
As a musician, I too was thinking the same thing.i was scanning the back wall for some sort of industrial grade headphones
Put me on the list too, guys! As an audio tech I 'preach' about hearing protection all the time. It's so important. :) Now back to work!
PURE PATEY!
The amount of thought and engineering that you have put into every aspect of this build is absolutely amazing!!!!👍🇺🇸
A lot of us are in the same boat, um I should say plane :-)
Bill Hansen lol that’s a good one
I used to fly front seat in a P&W 985 Super Stearman that had the oil cooler mounted in the aft fuselage. The hard oil lines ran along the airframe next to both cockpits. In an open cockpit, in the cold weather, those oil lines made perfect hand warmers.
Finally, this is so exiting i have to see the episodes over again while waiting for the next :D
