please turn CC on! sorry for the multiple issues with the audio, sadly i can't correct them after the video is public. i keep having the same issues so i'll triple check for next videos
Don't worry! your videos are really good and I complete every single one I click despite my lack of focus. Would love to hear about your discovery of bts and their impact on yourself (and your process of making video) cause I feel you are able to see everything they would want to show to their fans. Thanks for the videos!
Honestly every fandom needs someone like you who looks beyond and takes time to analyze. In an intelligent and resourceful way. If talk show hosts did the same our artists would be more comfortable. Am proud of you as an army. You need more recognition. Borahae army. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I can understand being overwhelmed by BTS discography because, man, it is massive . But the "I miss their old sound" completely loses me. What old sound? Bangtan Sonyeondan has always evolved in every way possible. They never really stuck to one sound. That is how they became the biggest, the best, and most celebrated.
Yes it is the reason only great artists experiment and develop, learn new things try new things bland old with the new in different ways. It's just part of being an amazing artist, it's the same in every field of life. If people stopped 'thinking outside the box' we stagnate. Humans are design to explore.
@@Rkives-218 korean sound? When in fact kpop wasn't original to begin with it was built from black music's aka an english songs. The best example of korean sound will be arirang. Do you heard any bts songs or album w/ that kind of sound? Like bffr BTS started as a hiphop groups and hiphop is a black invented genre aka english song and sound. From the very beginning bts and the rest of the kpop industry sound exactly and copy of the "eNglIsh CrAP" you yapping about 💀
Maybe they WERE listening. The songs WERE mostly written by RM... especially the lyrics. It's just that their ears MAY only be attuned (unknowingly) to songs HE writes, and they might just need to open their hearts (creative minds?) to other BTS styles, and do some analysis on WHY they prefer the older material. #aRMyLOVE💙💕 #YetToComePROOF #TAKETWO #INDIGO #RM_SOMETHING💕💙 #CLOSER💕 #SEXYNUKIM #BOTTEGAVENETA #D_DAYandVALENTINOandNBAandSAMSUNG #JACKINTHEBOXandOnTheStreetandLOUISVUITTON #JINNYsKITCHENandCELINEandSlowDancingLAYOVER! #TheASTRONAUTandJINRAMENandCARTIER #DREAMERSandCALVINKLEINandSEVEN #FACEandDIORandTIFFANY&CO #BTSPavedTheWay!
Maybe you're right, but it's also true that a lot of producers, especially from the West, are involved in BTS's newer songs. This is also one of the reasons why the sound of their songs (not all of them, mostly english one) is just a little different, gives different vibe. I prefer songs where the members have more input into the songs or their old Korean producers. The way BTS members write or produce songs is also a reason to like their Collab songs with other artists and they are in the credits of other artists songs. Western producers are kind of taking away Korean/K-pop sound from BTS. I would like BTS's music to still be mainly created by the members, Supreme boi, Slow rabbit, Pddog, Bang PD, but other producers (from the west) would make only small corrections or give suggestions and not be the main producers of the songs. You can clearly see and hear when the members wrote the lyrics and when they made the instrumental for the song. Sometimes the lyrics are better than the sound of the song. The members' lyrics always contains something profound, but it is often the case that their deep lyrics has to be changed at the suggestion of someone else and is loosing its meaning, becomes more plain
@@betxengi5388 I don't see where all I see is them trying new things, experimenting. For their Solo work they clearly only did what they wanted and they had their own reasons and it's to do with Artist Development. Trying things with different people within the global and home music industry. I think this is good for them as individual artists who can then bring what they've discovered to put into the melting pot that is BTS. So far there's not a single song I haven't found pearls in be it a melody a beat the subject matter the tone of voice the different instruments involved. It's a feast for the ears, eyes and brain. It all has meaning meaning to them. You might not always get the meaning, the reasoning but that's okay. There can be many differing layers to things, be extremely complex in nature, puzzles to figure out, questions being asked. Things can be simple and to the point some can be to make you think seriously other's can be to lighten you up, make you laugh, smile, even get up and dance. Everything with BTS is thoughout and has a reason behind it we might not always get that at first or even second or third sight and need other's to point us in the right direction. But that is the beauty of art.
@@betxengi5388 bts have no Korean/kpop sound so what you r saying is ridiculous. like this whole video is a about that. they r too versatile and experimental to have a sound/be put in a box
I personally love it when an artist keeps switching up their sound: 1. It shows their versatility and willingness to grow 2. It makes it more exciting for the listeners bc you never know what you’re gonna get 3. You might discover that you have a new found interest for a genre of music you didn’t listen to before 4. It is just great to see an artist grow and develop and expand his/her skillset It would be boring to me if an artist keeps making music that sounds the same
I feel like BTS discography has evolved naturally but there is something that makes you know it is BTS... I like groups that flavour and unique sound for them, it does not mean it sounds the same but that you listen and know who you are listening.
I think K-poppies say this because they feel comfortable with K-pop’s two concepts and the all-too-familiar sounds. Anything out of the K-Pop box frightens them. BTS has never fit that box even from debut and what a beautiful musical journey it’s been. I can’t wait for what comes next.
If the sound never changed, people would complain BTS has gone stale. I'm happy with the range of sounds as I can match the song to my mood and expand my own musical preferences. I may not like a certain song or even sound initially, but I'll come back to it later, and it might just be what I needed the second time around.
"change is a core part of BTS's discography" and "it's unnatural to maintain the same sound" - Exactly. It's something I love about BTS. They let what they want to convey lead their music and it makes their songs more authentic. They are a well made musical buffet. They give me what I like and then expand my tastes with songs I would not have sought out on my own.
I think most kpoppies just want to keep their idols in a box where they have control over them. They don't want to see them become real artists. The reason I stopped listening to current music is because I got tired with artists who don't expand. BTS made me enjoy music again.
Not just kpoppies, its across the western industry too. Change is not acceptable because it is a risk and fans may not like the change, so the labels control it so that change isn’t allowed. Or is minimised.
@nikki4noo That's true, I quit listening to American artists for a decade because I was sick of same genre from the same artist. I feel like they all sound the same after awhile. I think kpop fans are more controlling though because they would criticized on everything. I had no idea dating is a sin until I got into BTS. 😂
@@Super_Chamchi yeah even if they are loosing some fans from their new comeback it doesnt mean they are loosing a whole fandom its huge and new fans also joined the fandomfrom their new combeback like through them we can listen to diff genre but some artists have particular genre they focus on and they don't and they don't evolve their music
@@Super_ChamchiSame, in terms of American artists. I feel bad for them because they're required to make the music the industry demands of them- except for a rare few ones here and there, and most of those are indie or seriously underrated. But US music has grown so dull. Same sounds, same styles, and oh good grief, the amount of repetition in the lyrics... If all they've got to say is the same phrase over and over, they might just as well hush. (I'm remembering a song that kept repeating, 'I'm speechless' in the chorus, and I was like, 'You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.')
All I want for BTS is for them to make music that they love and are passionate about. I don't ever want them to compromise what they want to do as artists to appease the haters or even their fans. And I can't wait to see what they will do with their next album after they complete their military service. I love not knowing what to expect from BTS.
So true! like some people, generally kpoppies and antis, say how can you preorder a bts album without hearing how songs on it are gonna sound (bts haven't done tracklist teasers [or whatever they r called] for a group album in YEARS) and all i have to say is.. when has bts ever let us down when it comes to an album 😭😭 i always know im gonna get amazing quality music no matter how "different" it may sound from their previous releases. thats how confident i am in their abilities, their craft and them as artists.
I'm just thankful that BTS expands their music genre unlike the majority of KPOP groups who give the same sound almost every time which bored me to death. Another artist who was a huge risk taker, who was not afraid to change his sound and genre was the legend, Michael Jackson.
The complainers don't want to see BTS develop, expand and grow as a group and as individuals, the members have show their different musical tastes and styles during each of their solo works, they are Artists and they are grown Adult Men who can and will choose to do what they want with their own musical careers going forward, fans don't get a say in it, their futures are not yours to decide. It's now been 11 years of BTS, change is to be expected, it is to be welcomed and it is to be enjoyed.
@@usahanagirl of course! but say “miss the old bts” doesn’t have any sense, there is no old bts, since their debut they always have a variety of styles

I really believe that you need to have an open mind to fully enjoy BTS's music, they constantly change, and you need to be ready to expect any genere or concept within those changes, and that's why I love them so much 🫶🏻
You just need to love music. My aunt loves to say that she's a music lover but she don't like anything that's not rock. And it's ok. People have preferences. But don't say you are a music lover if you want from artist same sound over and over. Am I right or am I right?😁
@@Yoonji9212 That's right too! I've always said that musical taste is subjective, so an artist's work has its preferences obviously too, and loving or hating any kind of genere is perfectly fine. We can't all like or dislike the same things because we're a lot of people, and at the end of the day we can just enjoy what we love, and that's the lovely thing about music too. 🫶🏻💜
I think I know what is going to be about... and all I can say is FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT BTS is not just one type of music or genre of music! BTS debuted with a hip hop concept, but that doesn't mean that that's the only concept they are going to have on their whole career! BTS could be hip hop, romantic, sexy, powerful, cute, sensitive... EVERYTHING 'Cause BTS is not just a type of music or songs, is how the members pull off EVERY type of music adding their unique talents and voices "I miss the old bts" like... excuse me?¡ they are still there! 7 members and a LOT of talent!
And I love that abt them the fact that they change cuz it’s not rly realistic to showcase life in music as a stagnant thing life is always changing and evolving people change and evolve so it’s normal for artists to choose to grow into different directions and find paths that suit their tastes I just love BTS
I grew up on a duo that had a mad-extensive discography, Simon and Garfunkel. There's no genre they didn't do; they even did some songs that could be considered pre-rap, pre-EDM and pre-hip-hop. So, thanks to them, I NEED variety in my music. I just can't get into a group that picks a particular sound and sticks with it. I can enjoy one or two songs from a group or artist, or even three to four, rarely an entire album. But if they keep doing the same old stuff, song after song and album after album; when I can hear just the opening chords of a brand-new song and think, 'Ah, that's definitely (singer's) sound', I get bored and wander away. It's one of the major reasons why I stick with BTS almost exclusively; there just are not that many musicians who produce different genres anymore, and certainly not on BTS's scale. The only other relatively current group I consider myself a fan of is One Republic. (It made me very sad when FUN. broke up, they looked like being a real variety-group.) And the irony is, BTS have expanded my appreciation for music. I never cared for rap; now I enjoy it. (If it's BTS rap.) I never paid much mind to hip-hop; now I do- if it's them. I had no clue about trot. Now... 😄
lol didn't think i'd see Jazzmin2271 here. What I'm thinking is that some people say 'i miss bts old sound' because they genuinely don't listen to bts discography properly. But I have to say, as a classical musician who has studied music for over a decade, in many ways that is a valid criticism. It has to do with the simplification of BTS chord progressions and sound design and reduction in quality of vocal processing in the albums from 2017 onwards. So it is not to do with genre or sound specifically, but a more 'western' approach to composition. No matter which song in BTS's past, they were complex either harmonically, melodically, or in terms of rap flows and rhythm, or detail in the instrumental. This is not really the case in LY, MOTS and BE. The chord progressions are simpler and much more likely to be what you would hear on western radio like I-V-vi-V or I-iv-iii-IV. This in itself wouldn't be an issue (because it's not an issue with the Cyphers, No More Dream, etc.) if it weren't for the fact that OT7 tracks have much less rapping, which automatically reduces musical complexity, especially when the replacement melodies are repetitive. This again wouldn't be an issue (because it wasn't in Lost, House of Cards etc.) if it weren't for the fact that the production generally has fewer instruments, less detail and the vocal processing makes the vocal members sound nondistinctive (probably not a word). This is my objective viewpoint of the way their music has changed in OT7 tracks and some solo tracks. I don't think this criticism applies when it comes to solo albums, other than Golden and Layover, because the other albums were created with a small number of trusted producers which allowed the members to take creative control and make really great music in the vein of 'old BTS'. I guess I'm mainly talking about most tracks in MOTS, BE and LY. Where you can tell the influence of western producers has led to a simplification harmonically and generally fewer rap flows and more repetition in melody. I'm happy to discuss any points with anybody. I promise I'm not cherry-picking. I have listened to the ENTIRE BTS DISCOGRAPHY several times and am probably one of their biggest fans. I am also a classical musician, which makes it easy for me to analyse music. I have read all their lyrics and spend WAY too long researching their obscure music and pre-debut stuff lol. I'm definitely ARMY and am not jumping ship.
Having 200 groups sounding the same vs BTS surprising me with different sounds, music, genres, concepts??? Of course I will be an Army forever because of that... And at the same time I always recognize their voices, they still are recognizable and different from others which I love. That is what makes them "my group". I have my rock groups and BTS. They are just sooo good no matter what they do.
This way those people can pretend that their life is ok too, if they don't see any changes around them. Cause when they see someone developing and moving forward it makes them to feel inferior cause they think they should too achieve smth. If person os content with themselves, if they live life that they are satisfied with, change in others won't cause the anger, but if it does, it means you don't like your life or situation but you don't want to make effort to change it, and better pull others to the pit with you
@@AlexaOleksa I agree. If you are at a level of maturity where you understand that people change the longer they're alive, you will be able to understand that true artists (those who participate in their own creations) will make art that reflects their changes. To expect anything less shows that the audience is stuck and expects others to be stuck too. Either that, or they think it's okay for them to grow but look down on artists for doing the same for some reason.
I began listening to BTS precisely because of the variety of their sounds. I listened to 3 songs and they all sounded completely different but amazingly complex and compelling. I had to hear more. And they had so much more to share. I'm always so excited to see what they will show us next. Anyone who doesn't understand that experimenting with different sounds and styles, and changing as they grow, are a part of BTS identity at this point just doesn't understand them at all and probably weren't really ARMY to begin with.
BTS is BTS because they are so closely connected to their artistry and grow CONSTANTLY. They don't box themselves to suit the audience, they express and experiment and showcase the sounds and lyrics they WANT to because they resonate with it in that moment. That's why there's always something in their discography to hook a new listener. I see tons of artist use a 'popular' sound that's working well on charts and tiktok, because that 'ensures' people will tune in. It's not about what they want but what the audience wants, which is why they feel mediocre to me. It also makes me as a listener connect with BTS more because their evolution is 'human' - it changes and reminisces, it can be 'new' or nostalgic, their lyricism could have insane depth or just be a medium to express their transparent feelings. They are not dishing out same sound and corny lyrics all the time just to please the audience. They make music for themselves too and that's why it resonates with everyone.
What I also notice about the people who force this “their old music was better and ‘mORe AuTheNtic’” narrative too, is that they’re often talking about the music they made in the times they were really really struggling and even suffering… and by pushing this agenda, they’re essentially saying that they want the members to keep suffering so they can keep making that type of music. Its so disturbing
It taps into the idea that ‘great art only comes from great suffering’. This is such a falsehood as great art can also come from happiness and comfort but the idea of the ‘tortured artist’ as the only ‘true artist’ is still so prevalent today.
@@nikki4nooThat’s exactly what it is. That’s what these people are trying to get at when they say their happy stuff ‘lacks authenticity’. I mean… I know the world isn’t exactly full of rainbows and smiles constantly, and I know that all of us go through our fair share of suffering, even the members still do now, I’m sure. But that doesn’t mean that getting to a point where you have those happy moments, and being able to make art about them is any less valid. I know the bad outweighs the good for a lot of people when it comes to life, I know it does for me personally in fact, and I know they turn to art for relatability in that, and that’s completely fine. But they gotta work on not invalidating happiness… or anything that’s not angst and suffering, just because it may not align with what they’re trying to find a release from in that moment. I personally find a lot of comfort in hearing them happy in their music, and because I see that attitude reflected in their content outside of music, I know it’s authentic and that’s pretty amazing and lovely to see.
@Jazmin22271 Agreed! Although, despite being ‘trendy’ sonically, Jimin’s album is 100% introspective and raw. All those songs were written closely with trusted producers he’s known for years about his feelings, stories and struggles, it took him 10 months to complete the album because of it. As for Jungkook, even though he did mention that his music for Golden wasn’t autobiographical, and it does lean more towards a mainstream pop sound, I’d still find it 4838583822x more authentic than 99.9% of kpop, because Jungkook chose those songs himself, he was involved in every aspect of his album and he was the creative mind behind what he wanted. That’s just not a thing for most other kpop groups or idols whether they actually write their songs or not. Even the top groups that are praised for being ‘self producing’ rn are ‘self producing’ in a box that their company gives them, so their ‘creativity’ only goes so far. That’s why even though they’re ’self produced’ it all feels completely surface level and it sounds the same every comeback. Bottom line is, no matter what BTS are doing, when they release music, they’re doing it because they love music and they have something to say, whether it’s written by their own hand or whether they personally pick songs written by others because it resonates with them or they think it’ll resonate with army. Point is, they don’t release music for the sake of it, and that’s the key to their authenticity. Jungkook selecting songs meticulously that he loves and that he feels his audience will love and relate to, is a billion times more authentic than a kpop group being forced to produce songs in a box that their company gives them.
@Jazmin22271 Face is an amazing album with the story that it told of his personal experience during the pandemic and the struggles he had and then overcame while exploring different styles within that pop genre. SMFP2 is definitely not mainstream and the shock so many had that was his pre-release and him showing that he isn’t just the pretty pop soft voice so many like to box him in to. (Face and Indigo are my top two favs of the solo releases so far, if you can’t tell 😉). I love that with Jungkook’s he had a theme in how the themes of each song flow from first attraction, to a relationship to the break up and exploration of different feelings you might experience.
EXACTLY!!! THAT'S WHAT I NOTICED AND IT'S INSANE!! THEY WERE LITERALLY ANGRY AND DESPERATE TO SUCCEED, THEY WERE BEING TORMENTED BY FEARS AND BAD THOUGHTS (WINGS) 💀
As an old army, I still don't fully understand the excuse "I miss bts' old sound". I'm so happy, I see Bangtan free to express themselves and follow paths of Music: this is the thing that matters most💜the Spring is here🌸
The best part of being BTS fans is being able to listen to so many different genre. The diversity of their music is something i am so proud of. Every comeback is so different to previous one but they still don't forget their hip hop roots. Eapecially the rap line. Just listen to their solo albums u can clearly tell the sound each member loves and what they aspire to tell with their music. But when they r together those sounds come together in various track. Plus they always have something for someone. Also as artist they are not confined to one image or genre, they are not scared to experiment and they excel at everything genre or sound they follow. There is not a single track that I don't like. I have songs that I can listen to at every moment in life and emotions I feel.
genuinely hope this sentiment spreads more in music fandom spaces, more artists should be allowed to grow and explore their changes in their art. It is incredibly selfish to wish your so called favorite group or singer stays stagnant in time just because thats YOUR favorite sound and concept. the beauty and fun of following an artist for a long time is witnessing their changes throughout the years. also as you said in the video bts doesn't even completely stop working with their "old sound" it's still very present in their recent works, nostalgia is just one hell of a drug sometimes.
It’s truly one of the weirdest things about kpop to me that a particular company will sort of have a signature “sound” and debut new groups that sound extremely similar to their old ones (thinking of a particular example from literally TODAY that I won’t name lol). I would like to stan an artist who grows and changes and evolves artistically rather than a corporate product created to sound a certain safe and familiar way.
Something that I recognize in former fans who say “I miss the old BTS sound” is that they’ll become fans on younger groups who give them the same feeling as 2014-2017 BTS. I thought is it because BTS has aged out of their interest, or is it because they enjoy k-pop to be stuck in that era? I’ve noticed over my now 6 years in the fandom and listening to other idol music that many of these groups have music that gets stuck in particular sound, which gets stuck in a concept and aesthetic. I’ll give an example: 2017 BTS makes an EDM-inspired hit, they supercharge a trend in idol music, and groups are either being created, just catching up to, or continuously making 2017 EDM in 2023 because “it worked for BTS” even though the trend is well and truly over. So much of idol music hasn’t evolved because it’s stuck in a trend chasing hamster wheel. Comebacks are more of the same rehashed concepts, the rappers still use the same cadence from 2009, and producers are told by CEOs “I want a song that sounds like ____ (from 4 years ago)”. It’s the safe, predictable route- a route BTS has never taken to be successful. Their music doesn’t sound stuck in 2017 to appease fans who can’t stop reliving that era. Music (and their associated aesthetics) is supposed to progress. That’s what makes it interesting. I can’t also help but wonder if some of this “I miss their old sound” is “I miss when they were less worldly” aka “I miss when they felt more Korean”. You know, because how dare they not feed into a delusional need to feel quirky for listening to k-pop.
From back in 2015, with the first 5 songs I listened of bts, I knew they didn't have a distinctive sound and that they could do any music genre amazingly because of their talents, passion and respect for music. That's why I always expect with excitement each comeback because I don't know what are they going to try next and it's great to be surprised every time, and also why I don't have a favorite song and I can't recommend a song from them to anyone without knowing what style they like first
I'm fairly new to BTS, I'm from BE Era. I don't actually listen to music so I don't know how when and where I started downloading songs and to think it's from a band I thought I've never be into 😂.
@@rafaelsmith5737 yeah. =0] I adore Fly to My Room. i call it Jimin's song because he created it with staff. =0p Life Goes On is my fav. The feels. And Fly to My Room is 2nd fav.
You nailed it once again. I loved how you linked the “old sounds” with not only newer group songs but also the solo songs. We can see how the different styles and tastes of each member is influencing in the group at times. For other kpop groups but also for a lot of big western artists they are also not allowed to “change” for fear of losing fans who are trained to only like and expect one sound. It is pressure by labels who see them as a commodity and not as artists. This is why we as a fandom have recognised our support with streaming and buying to allow them that autonomy to keep creating and trying new things in the direction they wish to go. We are the journey with them, as Namjoon said how he sees the members as all of them in the same boat but looking in different directions, we are also on that boat, as the passengers and they as our captains. I can’t wait to see which direction and exploration they will take us in the future.
What you said is so on point ! Because of BTS I have listened to a wide variety of genres and even though i dont like some of them at first, as I go through my life and face challenges, more and more of their songs resonate with me even more. An artist with such a relatable music that crosses languages and barriers is very precious to me (me being an indian only listen to Indian songs and few western songs). BTS is an exception and I found them during covid times which has helped me tremendously...I am eagerly waiting for them to reunite. Can't wait for Jin's album !!!
The best thing about BTS is that they carter for a large variety of moods so you can listen to them continuously and when they release new music even better💜
Those who don’t want BTS to change will be sorely disappointed next year, when they come back together. By then, they will be military veterans and will have experienced much that will change them forever. BTS are not boys anymore; they are men. We need to see them that way.
I am so excited to see how their sound and songs will adapt after their military service. I am sure it will be a success, just like their other 'eras'.
I would say the BEST thing about a new BTS album is that I have NO idea what we're going to get. I know for a fact, even before listening, that I'm not going to hear a recycled set of songs. Heck, even when they purposefully reuse sounds, even that is part of their storytelling and evolution. I think this is one more part of how ARMY is different from normal k-pop stans who actually REALLY like knowing that a group (heck even whole labels) have a sound, so that if they stan that label they know exactly what they will get. Not to be reductive, but I would never WANT my favorite artists to feel they have to "Nickelback" their songs forever.
Yeah, another thing with the black swan and BST similarly comment is why would an artist make the same song twice? 😂. How many times have fans said to an artist or a group " oh all their music sound the same"? And I just know if they were to do that, fans would start saying bts ran out of ideas or sound so they're just copying and pasting their old songs now.
There's people that dislike and can't adjust to change and when artists grow from what they were introduced to when they found them. Similar to how some react to indie groups that grow big, or even now w Beyonce and her new sound w country music style. They want to feel special in their own niche bubble. Artists like BTS are special because they have the ability to draw in new fans and listeners to their own unique sound as members and together as a group. Their music is timeless, you can find new and old fans listening to music from different eras, and it can still sound fresh. Not all artists have that ability
That's why Bey and BTS are one of the best in the game like they're constantly reinventing themselves, they aren't afraid of growth and trying something new. This is why their music is so loved, celebrated and just timeless. I want for the tannies the type of longevity Beyonce, Coldplay and some other artists have. The tannies r gonna be celebrating their 11 year anniversary and I hope we will be celebrating their 30 anniversary with them still going strong doing what they love, making music, being on stage. Like i would love nothing more for them and with what they've been saying, with them getting their military service out of the way so close together (they could have dragg it out but they didn't) it looks like they also want the same🥺🥹
I've heard that said so often, about many artists who chose to take their music in a new direction, along with the epitaph of "selling out". BTS is so musically diverse, both in the music they perform, and the music they listen to. Personally, I think I would get bored, if they locked themselves into a single sound. The diversity of their discography is one of my favorite things about our seven.
its the same energy i get from kpop stans nowadays who debate on whether or not a group already flopped 4 months after debut, or a group having 1 comeback they dont like and claim the group got ruined lmao. so dramatic, very funny.
As someone who didn’t find himself to be as receptive to ‘Hope on the Street’ as he was to ‘Jack in the Box’, I needed this. Thank you so much, boracity.
I would say hots is a mix between jitb and hope world. its all still Hoseok but expanding and building on his previous styles/tracks he has done while always trying something new and growing as an artist. I couldn't be more proud of him side note fjfjdkdk I've been watching the tv show Pose before hots got released and i gotta say a lot of the tracks on it would fit right in into late 80/early 90s or just in the shows soundtrack in general 😭😭🫶 this "connection" if u will made me so happy for some reason
@@g100-w6j yup, that’s the thing. I think I’m just not ready for the new sound yet. Could be coz I’m rather accustomed to hip-hop sounds being closer to the grunge of ‘More’ & ‘Arson’ than ‘on the street’. For reference, one of my fav rock bands is an indie alternative band called ‘Against the Current’. Hopefully the brain will come around to HotS in time. 😅 Glad you enjoyed it though. 😊
@@thatfilmydesaikid and that's totally fine friend. You'll probably come around to hots later on after it sits with you for a bit. like if you're not accustomed to listening to the type of music Hoseok's going for in hots then it would catch you off guard. I think it's also important to note that hots the album AND documentary also go hand in hand (and album is vol.1 which means he wants to do more of it in the future possibly exploring other dance styles alongside the music). So you should give it a watch if you haven't already, there's 2 episodes out as of now. Hiphop being such a wide genre is so amazing because we can get so many different sounds from rapline, even just one of them in this case Hobi. He can do More, arson, what if, Pandora's box etc but he can also do daydream, I wonder, I don't know, equal sign etc. It's still so mind-blowing to me how versatile they are. Oh I'll look that band up for sure (their name sounds so familiar to me tho. I wonder if I'm not confusing them with another band😭). I love finding new music in such an accidental way. Hope you have a great day 😊
I'm so eclectic! The reason I love BTS and fell down the rabbit hole so hard and haven't seen the light of day since is because there is so much variety. I never get bored or tired. They're constantly evolving and I love that! There have been times when a come back hit me in a place I wasn't ready for and then it grew on me... It's almost like why listen to anything else? I came into this only about 2 years ago, So I had such variety of so many different eras to devour... For me the sincerity in their artistry, is something you can't ignore... But if you do a deep dive into them as people, you get to see it all come to life in their music.
I'm glad they grew and evolved. Because without dynamite i wouldn't have found them. Besides they still do hip hop songs , those who say they don't need to actually listen.
BTS changing, is BTS not changing. Because BTS is forever changing. Like life. Because they are real artists like that. Those who wants them to be like a popcorn machine can go explore K-pop. There are lots of old idols coming back after BTS and still sing like it is 1992.
This characteristic of BTS’s discography is one of the biggest reasons I love them. I’ll never get bored listening to them. They have a song (or multiple songs) I can listen to in any kind of mood, in all the differing “eras” in my own life. If a new release doesn’t align that well with my preferences, I can evolve my musical horizons or sit back and wait for future music, which will likely be something different again.
Change is the only constant in this world. The world is evolving, if you don't adapt into it, you will be left behind. BTS already prove themselves to have different genre of music, can do anything and adapt well in the evolving world. They don't stick to what the industry/netizens wants them to do, they go beyond the expectations. 💜
Thank you Bora for all your videos you are literally on point with each and every one of them and I agree with you 1000%. I've been an ARMY since 2014 and the crazy part is that even then there would be ppl saying they miss the old BTS. They were ridiculous then and they are ridiculous now. Keep doing you because your videos are perfect for educating new Armys about BTSs and our history
I have seen the same thing since ive been an army for many years so i strongly agree like damn some of yall (the yall could be anyone from kpoppies, to antis, to ex army, even some army) can never be happy and always need to place these high expectations on the tannies that r simply not realistic nor are they placed on anyone else. Either that or people r being so xenophobic and racist they don't even notice it and because its said about bts so it must be okay, totally normal and normalized saying sht like "bts r sellouts", "they forgot their roots", "they're westernized" and some vile inhumane stuff im not gonna repeat here because it makes my blood boil....
I’ve been an ARMY since 2015 and over the years it felt like I was growing up with them since I was a teen when I started getting hooked on their songs 💜 The changes were beautiful and so was the journey!
I love that they don’t suck to a genre box because every album is different so it’s not boring and it’s a surprise every time because we don’t know what we will get. That’s why we say it’s a bts genes because they don’t suck to genres 💜👍🏽
I discovered BTS in 2022, so I cant miss "the old BTS" because I got 9 years worth of music at the same time. It was a bit overwhelming at first but I listened to it all in no particular order, made my way through it. Now, I know that new songs are always different, always evolving. And thats part of what I love about them, this capacity to always reinvent themselves. Great analysis as always ❤
Bts are grown artists love when bts do their solos albums with different sounds and styles, they have grown up so much and I proud to be a army also proud of bts numbers. They have amazing talent change is a good thing and I love it from bts
BTS has never had ONE sound, they've had many. They were different from the beginning! But as you said, they change (and in a good way). This is truly only the beginning of a beautiful journey (on a side note, I love your videos!)
Thank you so much for this video. I became an Army through Butter, Dynamite and Permission to Dance (in that order) and thought that BTS was a boy band that produced bubble gum pop songs. Then I watched On Kinetic Manifesto and was completely blown away by how different it was from the three English songs I had come to associate with BTS. Then I watched Black Swan, Spring Day and No More Dreams and was hooked. I am a 56 year old Army who has never fan girled over any artist ever. But the shifting sounds of BTS literally swept me off my feet and I'm here to stay. Aside from their musical talents, they are a bunch of kind hearted and hilariously funny guys. They've completely taken over my life and I'm deliriously happy for it. 2025 can't come soon enough.💜💜💜
Songs are linked to emotions and to a time we went through. So if a song is linked to a happy emotion, souvenir, moment or period of life, when people say they miss old songs, I believe they are just nostalgic for a period of they life they missing . It's just my humble opinion 🙂
Do you guys remember this saying from jackson Wang "RM doesn't speak much but when speak it just feels right " That's what I feel when I listen to Bora. She is the kim Namjoon of armies 😂💜

@@monimuppet6132as of now people tent to forget that BE is existing. They are focusing on Bangtan's 3 English songs and that they "not talking about serious topic" ignoring BE and their solo work like it didn't happened🤦
@@Yoonji9212It’s so wild and funny how much the goalpost keeps moving because I can remember a time when some complained about the LY era being “too serious and glorifying of mental health”, yet as soon as BWL and Dynamite dropped, they lacked “deep and meaningful lyrics”. And like clockwork, both bodies of work are either now or inevitably will be retrospectively idolized as an excuse to dislike the newer releases.
@Yoonji9212 Nahhh but to be fair. I prefer LY and MOTS to BE. BE had uninteresting chord progressions and less interesting rap flows as compared to those other 2 albums. imo
I'm thinking for a while now that their individual music styles, we can clearly see now, can be found in bangtans discography. That's why I think that all the different sounds they use are authenticly them as a band.
Perfectly said, BTS is musical genius. I love how they embrace their past and embrace the new sound. Each album is a narrative, story of life. Life definitely goes on. So why stick with the old. BTS are human beings and they mature. They are not some band, no offence, KPOP band who is stuck in the 18 or 24 year old. Then their career oxidizes. These band do not accept change. Never artistic and will just go with whatever their management say. To me this is not BTS.They are not Kpop. They never ever sounded the same. Nitpicking is for someone who never embraces change.
Thank you for another great video!! The thing that gets me most about people complaining about "change" is that there was never one sound the boys stuck to in the first place. Perhaps the aesthetics and music videos had you thinking otherwise, but even the earliest "hiphop-heavy" BTS had songs like "I like it", "Just one day", "Blanket kick", "Coffee" and many more which were much more pop. They've always been versatile artists capable of making high quality songs in multiple genres (shoutout Pdogg, Slow Rabbit and other in-house producers who especially had a lot on their plate in the earlier days). The only thing which has evolved is the story they choose to tell, the lyrics they write, which is also a natural evolution since they have, are and always do write about their own feelings and experiences. It's why they're so relatable. It's why millions of us connect to them so much. The only problem I have encountered with me being a BTS fan is that I am less inclined to check out as much music as I could simply because BTS offers me such a huge variety, in their group and solo discography that I adore. So I don't have as much time for non-BTS music. Otherwise, from their predebut songs, early debut, HYYH era, Wings, Love Yourself and MOTS eras, BE, PROOF, all their solo songs AND their English trilogy, I have no complaints. Just happy vibing and listening.
*Bora, you couldnt have explained this any better.* 👏 If u were to ever meet an ex-fan of bts, nine times outta ten, the reason they unstanned was because *"bTs cHaNged"* or *"thEy're jusT nOt tHe sAMe aNYmoRE"* LIKE GIRL WAKE UP- 💀 BTS *BEEN* EVOLVING THEIR SOUND, AESTHETICS AND CONCEPTS OVER THEIR ENTIRE *10 YEAR DISCOGRAPHY* 😂 Change is apart of growth. *You CANT expect to get anywhere if all ur doing is running on the spot.* 🤷♀

This is so interesting! One point I'd like to make is that any individual can make their own playlists of songs from different eras. I have one called "Quiet Songs" and another "Loud Songs" to play based on my mood. They mix up the eras. What's not okay with me is what the author has pointed out, complaining that BTS has changed. Of course they have! My other point is that all great artists change, from Beethoven to Beatles, to Dylan, to Jackson. Those are all musicians who wrote their own material. So that's key. BTS has everything going for them, and change is a huge part of that. I can't wait until they are back - I anticipate seven huge and different musical minds creating something we've never heard before.
Agree 💯 BTS album after military will be something new and fresh for sure. Also I can't wait for Namjoon's new album. RM, Mono and Indigo are so different and I love every one of them. I'm super curious what he did with this new album.
You know what’s funny? Artists can never win because they’re currently writing and commenting on DUA LIPA because her new music sounds “too much” like her last album ….. so there’s just no pleasing everyone 🤷♀️. Keep on keeping, supporting the members, and you do you ARMY ✨💜💜💜✨
One of the major criticism for BlackPink's discography is that all their songs essentially sound the same with similar lyrics talking about love, breakup and flashing wealth. And then we have BTS with the EXACT opposite position with such diverse music and lyrics but people still rant how they miss their old music?! Mind you if their discography would have the same flavour of their old songs, these people would still ducking complain how its all the same stuff again and again! Maybe these people just lost interest in BTS which is fine but giving BTS's diverse music as a reason for the lost interest is just stupid as if these people were gonna stay in Boraland otherwise.
It's not just Blackpink.... the problem is that Korean music labels try so hard to push their signature into their group... Bigbang, 2ne1, Blackpink, babymonster all sound the same with YG's music, SM too... While BTS has the freedom to do their own music... If they move to another label its barely affect them because it's their own music choices, not their label/Bighit music.
This is the earliest I’ve been to one of your videos, and the first thing I want to say is you selected the perfect sound byte for the transition to the conclusion. It perfectly encapsulated your point. It’s also a nice reminder that even if they did change their sound completely and never went back to old ones, they’re very much allowed to do that. As you mentioned, the idealized sound of/for artists is overall unrealistic because you have to remember that there are real people guiding their art, not robots churning out the same thing over and over again. From day one, BTS has had a lot of influence over what they wanted to say with their music and how they wanted it to sound, and if they’re not feeling a specific sound anymore it’s totally valid for them to no longer make music of that sound. It’s also valid for fans to not like some of the new sounds, but BTS still has a varied discography that can cater to many different kinds of interests, so you don’t just drop an artist immediately when they still have other things you can enjoy instead. I may be an outlier because I’ve always loved many different music genres all at once, so for me new sounds are always welcome. There have definitely been times where I’ve been like “that was nice, but not as nice as the last thing you did” but I still manage to enjoy change. The last part of this whole thing was irrelevant but my main point with it is that if there’s people out there that prefer to stick to one sound, BTS has music for them, but there’s also people out there like me that enjoy variety and therefore BTS definitely still has music for us too :) ok I’m done. Great video as always!!!
I’m so grateful to BTS because I would have easily missed out on a huge variety of genres if I hadn’t come to know them. For example I hardly ever listened to rap & hiphop before BTS and now I enjoy it so much (although admittedly I mostly only hear it in BTS songs) In Chapter 2 BTS have introduced me to many artists I hadn’t heard before and again, what a welcome addition to my life.
I do miss love yourself era for real. Probably because it was my Baby Army era. But it's also just a good, universal message and the triology is kinda unmatched in their discography so far. And their American and British interviews in 2017 and 2018? ✨🤪😍
So now if you listen to other artists, you are not a "true bts fans" and most likely diminish bts? I found this video in my algorithm and this is the first comment, kpop fans are so parasocial and dumb lol touch some grass
No real music fan would ever say this. I have not personally heard this statement but I am not as engaged with other fans. I found BTS last year so I didn't get locked in to a specific sound but I have to say the one thing I have really, really enjoyed about this journey is the huge variety of sounds with so many colors and textures. BTS has expanded my music tastes and they continue to keep pushing my boundaries and I am loving every second of it. 😊
seeing you show older and newer bts songs with similarities in sound side by side made me kinda emotional… my god i love them so much😭 thank you for your videos, you’re amazing

All I can say is thank you for your in depth video explanations of BTS. It's always refreshing. "Change is inevitable..." I'm glad they as group and on their solo projects give different music, that is reflective of where they are...which can speak to where I may be too as a person.
Thank you for you analysis, I would say all their music I love it, I don’t have a favorite song are all why.. because I old army and I hear all kind of music I’m gen x and the influence from the 80’s and 90’s opened my taste in music, only I can say BTS is fresh and clear like water and every era or album I felt them fresh and rejuvenated.. that’s my opinion as old army that BTS makes me young .. Bangtan Forever 💜💜
Ik this comment isn’t about Bts but a lot of people use this argument when saying they prefer Beyoncé ‘s older music even though she’s always been inspired by other genres.
I’ve noticed that same thing as just a casual listener of her. There’s a reason why she still has a thriving career and keeps breaking records almost 30 years into her career. If she didn’t adapt with the times/take experimental risks, she wouldn’t have progressed this much. It’s giving a bit of crab mentality to me.
and from my personal experience as a nov 2013 army , i did in fact go through a bit of a shock in 2015 when they went from their dark and hip hop centered sound to hyyh. It took hyyh pt 2 to release to fully understand them changing was necessary and i too was changing with them and that was beautiful and since then none of their concept switches fazed me lol. If anything i crave for it i love seeing their dark and colorful side in equal amounts. that's why they're my all time favorite group.
Actuallly if they listen to whole album not just title track, they will know BTS owned a lot of styles…. They felt BTS changed just because BTS not considered Kpop anymore….
Fairly, as a new ARMY (mid-2022), when I started listening to their music, I found myself liking a bunch of songs of different moments of their career without paying attention to the "changes". Now with the solo releases, it's noticeable that they wanted to experiment with other sounds, so I can see where this argument is comming from. What I don't get, is why people think change it's a problem. Their hearts are there, their personal preferences, personalities are there. And it's crazy good music! With all the new releases, I am also scared of maybe not liking the songs as much as they deserve, because there are a couple of music generes that I'm not drawn to. But release after release, after a couple of listens, I get impressed on how much I like them. So I want change, because is human and honest, and as a fan, I know they are gonna provide quality no matter the sound they choose 💜
Excellent, Bora. As usual. Thank you soooooo much for your analysis. You are very smart. Now my opinion: I think people who say that probably haven't listened to BTS whole discography seriously. Me, the more I listen to all their songs, even some that I didn't like much at the beginning, the more I discover they are amazing great songs, and i love them dearly too, although some might always be my favorites. I hope this article will help others to go and really listen to all BTS' songs. Seriously, they are all good. BTS has never produced a bad song in their whole career. I can't wait for 2025!!!! Apobangpo Borahae 💜
Even if their sound changed (which didn't really happen), how long are you gonna stuck at same sound? Don't you feel bored listening to same sound everytime? We are blessed, we have such artists who gives us new things whilst not forgetting the old ones. Like I feel lucky to Stan BTS coz they give us new type of songs to listeb, while also giving old type of songs that reminds us of their specific eras. So I appreciate it!
Thank you again! You always address all the topics and thoughts that linger in my head regarding BTS. It is like do you want them to froze in time? My life is in constant movement and change just imagine theirs. I mean Dynamite was soooo much needed at that precise moment! Gee how much we need it after pandemic. It is one of my fave as No More Dream or Black Swan or Microkosmos.
I will be the first person to admit that I prefer some of their previous albums but they still do awesome stuff! I adore RMs stuff and still make a point to give everything a listen and read the lyrics because even when it ends up being not for me but it still has value and it's a good thing that they're able to develop and change. I'm actually really looking forward to what will happen when these individually developed tastes and talents collide again. What are they gonna do next??? I love how they're always evolving and there's a big difference between being sad and missing a specific sound and acting like the change is a bad thing or objectively worse. It's okay to have preferences but don't be pretentious about it
When I first became ARMY I had a k-pop stan from another label give me a hard sell that if I would just tell them what kind of songs I like that they could tell me which label (and by that, which suite of groups) would be perfect for me. Because as she kept saying, "It's amazing, once you find the right label you can know that all the songs from all the groups will be just like how you want".
@@monimuppet6132 It's one of the biggest contradictions the kpoppies use. I listen to Koppies and think are you really that stupid that you don't realised you've just contradicted yourself.
This is why some kpop stans would never not be weirdos to me..... because yall rly are stans of companies, of a music label basically, and listen to the same sht rinse and repeat from groups who r just clones of each other. who dont offer something new, different and interesting like whoaaaaaa. yall rly live like that fr fr??!!?
This video masterfully explained one of the several reasons why I love BTS' music. Their constant change, exploration and hunger to expand their artistic reach, to play with different genres, to experiment and evolve, that makes them great and genuine artists. All their huge discography is so interesting, so bast, so fun to explore. You could never be tired of their music or their sound.
It's okay if bts just isn't your group anymore. It's okay to move on. But people change and people simply have several facets. And I like every song that comes out. Only because one of the members wants to tell us something again. Sometimes it's something old-fashioned now. we reinterpret. Sometimes it's something that wasn't so clear before. But it's always music, and it's always something of them. - people have more the one side /one sound.
Agreed, and also it makes total sense. Because we all live in a society that revolves around the fears of change, most majority of people have lived through a time period in which they either accept or deny the change, which correlates with a time period of their life. Great job as always and excellent observation. Thank you and keep up the great work your producing.
As a newer Army what drew me to BTS was their variety and their depth of concepts and lyrics. I get bored with groups who do the same thing all of the time. I respect the talent of groups like BTS who experiment with different genres because it shows their talent. I love the BTS solo work because each member did something different. It is all such high quality as well. I know they have been preparing ahead of time for their comeback, but I really want to see how they evolve having had these years of individual growth and experiences. I hope they try new things and bring their individual experiences back into the group. If any group could do that and make it all interesting, BTS can.
They will bring it back to the group that's part of who they are. They see solo work as Artist Development which then goes into the 'Pot' that is BTS the group rather than BTS the solo artists.
You always hit the nail on the head. I am a 2016 bs&t army. Thats how i discovered them. And i acutely remember being a bit jared when Not Today came out bc it was SO different. Being very honest, it took a while to grow on me. I love it bkw of course. But yes black swan is one of my favorite songs by them too lol. Also i love both chores. And also, i LOVE the different genres they try and conquer. They do everything so well. Army will NEVER be bored by their music.
I discovered BTS 7 months back and every time I listen to a new song its refreshing, amazing. I fell in love with them and their music so much,I don't feel like listening to anything else seriously. I wonder have I gone mad with obsession Hooe to see them soon.
Thank you for this video! As always, I appreciate how coherently and intelligently you address the topic at hand. Personally I love how BTS has evolved their music and have never shied away from changes in their sound - what has remained constant is that BTS remain true to themselves and make their music as their view of the world and feelings evolve. Some who complain about changes do so because clinging to whatever "sound" they are nostalgic about is their way of coping with the world. Yes, an excuse and that's on them. I don't even argue, there's no point.
They changes are part of their growing exploration and Army grow with them. I think is great and beautiful to walk along with them and have so many different songs and styles to choose. We dont have to enjoy or love every song the same to appreciate their hard work and enjoy the process. Beside, so many songs had become favorites ones after some time. I am just loving the journey with BTS music by my side nd curious about what is next.
Once again a great video. Thank you. One of the main attractions for me is their variety and never knowing what they will show us next. I’m fortunate that I love most music genres and sounds, but I especially love BTS. This is also one of the reasons I love Jewel. She even changed her voice many times. It’s so interesting. When I heard JK’s “Somebody”, it reminded me of her.
I miss BTS, that's it, I am really waiting eagerly their comeback in 2025...long live BTS! Thanks for the insight. I like all their discography, and looking forward to what they will offer us, what evolution will show us. So thrilled!

True and they have a boring set in stone mindset they are not music lovers.

I personally love it when an artist keeps switching up their sound:
1. It shows their versatility and willingness to grow
2. It makes it more exciting for the listeners bc you never know what you’re gonna get
3. You might discover that you have a new found interest for a genre of music you didn’t listen to before

It would be boring to me if an artist keeps making music that sounds the same

I think K-poppies say this because they feel comfortable with K-pop’s two concepts and the all-too-familiar sounds. Anything out of the K-Pop box frightens them. BTS has never fit that box even from debut and what a beautiful musical journey it’s been. I can’t wait for what comes next.
@@sharonlahaye5803 same here 💜
I’ve always thought this. BTS has never had a singular sound. They’ve always grew after each album.
If the sound never changed, people would complain BTS has gone stale. I'm happy with the range of sounds as I can match the song to my mood and expand my own musical preferences. I may not like a certain song or even sound initially, but I'll come back to it later, and it might just be what I needed the second time around.
I wouldn't want the artists to sound the same every time. I want to see how they are progressing and changing.
Amen to that statement. Variety is the spice of life.
Exactly
They're the same people who say "Xyz artist is so boring, all their songs sound the same"
Like b!txt tf do you even want?!
Exactly
"change is a core part of BTS's discography" and "it's unnatural to maintain the same sound" - Exactly. It's something I love about BTS. They let what they want to convey lead their music and it makes their songs more authentic. They are a well made musical buffet. They give me what I like and then expand my tastes with songs I would not have sought out on my own.
And this is why we love BTS. They are so diverse. Never boring. Always growing. 100 genres but always completely them. There’s no one else like them.
Same.

Same, i just love music and so happy that i have artist who can supply me with unending vary of genres😊
So true! like some people, generally kpoppies and antis, say how can you preorder a bts album without hearing how songs on it are gonna sound (bts haven't done tracklist teasers [or whatever they r called] for a group album in YEARS) and all i have to say is.. when has bts ever let us down when it comes to an album 😭😭 i always know im gonna get amazing quality music no matter how "different" it may sound from their previous releases. thats how confident i am in their abilities, their craft and them as artists.
I'm just thankful that BTS expands their music genre unlike the majority of KPOP groups who give the same sound almost every time which bored me to death. Another artist who was a huge risk taker, who was not afraid to change his sound and genre was the legend, Michael Jackson.
I completely agree. It's forever bittersweet to me that BTS and Michael Jackson will never get to meet each other.
Queen is another group who as a rock band experimented with all different genres.

BTS is not just one type of music or genre of music!
BTS debuted with a hip hop concept, but that doesn't mean that that's the only concept they are going to have on their whole career!
BTS could be hip hop, romantic, sexy, powerful, cute, sensitive... EVERYTHING
'Cause BTS is not just a type of music or songs, is how the members pull off EVERY type of music adding their unique talents and voices
"I miss the old bts" like... excuse me?¡ they are still there!

Now... 😄

good point there
Ya
SAME LMAO
lol didn't think i'd see Jazzmin2271 here.
They are just sooo good no matter what they do.
those who complain that bts are not the same anymore are clearly not familiar with the concept of growth in thier own life as well
This way those people can pretend that their life is ok too, if they don't see any changes around them.
@@ZariDV exactly!
THIS!!
I got you though 😂 and Agree as well.
I get what you mean
Baby Mon ?! 😂😂

😂. How many times have fans said to an artist or a group
" oh all their music sound the same"?
The diversity of their discography is one of my favorite things about our seven.
agreed with everything you've said, but that tweet about missing the old BTS in 2013 is actual comedy gold like what 💀

@@thatfilmydesaikid and that's totally fine friend. You'll probably come around to hots later on after it sits with you for a bit. like if you're not accustomed to listening to the type of music Hoseok's going for in hots then it would catch you off guard. I'm glad they grew and evolved. Because without dynamite i wouldn't have found them. Besides they still do hip hop songs , those who say they don't need to actually listen.

Those who wants them to be like a popcorn machine can go explore K-pop. There are lots of old idols coming back after BTS and still sing like it is 1992.
Popcorn machine😂😂😂
This characteristic of BTS’s discography is one of the biggest reasons I love them. I’ll never get bored listening to them. They have a song (or multiple songs) I can listen to in any kind of mood, in all the differing “eras” in my own life. If a new release doesn’t align that well with my preferences, I can evolve my musical horizons or sit back and wait for future music, which will likely be something different again.
i love the diversity of bts’ music
Well said! BTS & BTS Army 4ever!
I’ve been an ARMY since 2015 and over the years it felt like I was growing up with them since I was a teen when I started getting hooked on their songs 💜
The changes were beautiful and so was the journey!
@@Sisima13 same🫂💜💜
I love that they don’t suck to a genre box because every album is different so it’s not boring and it’s a surprise every time because we don’t know what we will get.
One of the reasons to like bts is their change in sound and different genre they try . I love this thing so much .
Do you guys remember this saying from jackson Wang
"RM doesn't speak much but when speak it just feels right "

Someone answered with MOTS:7 once. And I quote "they got so westernized after ON." In 2025 mfers are gonna be praising BE, I swear 😂😂
BE had uninteresting chord progressions and less interesting rap flows as compared to those other 2 albums. imo
@@monimuppet6132 lmaoo the funny thing is i have seen this said about every single era of theirs😭😭😭 mfs r so predictable
*Bora, you couldnt have explained this any better.* 👏
If u were to ever meet an ex-fan of bts, nine times outta ten, the reason they unstanned was because *"bTs cHaNged"* or *"thEy're jusT nOt tHe sAMe aNYmoRE"* LIKE GIRL WAKE UP- 💀 BTS *BEEN* EVOLVING THEIR SOUND, AESTHETICS AND CONCEPTS OVER THEIR ENTIRE *10 YEAR DISCOGRAPHY* 😂 Change is apart of growth. *You CANT expect to get anywhere if all ur doing is running on the spot.* 🤷♀

@@natashambulo3510ohhh, it's the audio.. If u wear headphones, you will hear her speaking in your left ear. Idk why it's like that but her voice is shifted to one side
For example I hardly ever listened to rap & hiphop before BTS and now I enjoy it so much (although admittedly I mostly only hear it in BTS songs)
In Chapter 2 BTS have introduced me to many artists I hadn’t heard before and again, what a welcome addition to my life.
BTS' music is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.
Well said. BTS never stops surprising. That's what occupied my soul. BC why go anywhere else if I already have found my forever artists in BTS
💕👑GURL I HATE AND BTS AND CHOCOLATE💕👑
and the fact that when bts had their "old sound" they weren't popular and successful like now , make this excuse even more excuse
I do miss love yourself era for real. Probably because it was my Baby Army era. But it's also just a good, universal message and the triology is kinda unmatched in their discography so far. And their American and British interviews in 2017 and 2018? ✨🤪😍
I seriously want BTS watch your video and appreciate your work because for all the baby Army's it's really important to understand all these things💜
I find the "I prefer old BTS" kind of comments mostly come from kpoppies & Multi's rather than ARMY 💜
Fully agree. The same song and style by the most K-pop groups as Blackpink, for example.
So now if you listen to other artists, you are not a "true bts fans" and most likely diminish bts?
I found this video in my algorithm and this is the first comment, kpop fans are so parasocial and dumb lol touch some grass
Bts are industry plants of south Korean govt, that's how they reached America's Biden 😂
Yeah
Yes, this goes well with the opinion I wrote below about BTS becoming too popular…

Ig the point is, it’s annoying when so called “fans” won’t let their favorite artist evolve.
@@user-oq5xl6hp5w yeah
Thank you for sticking by them for so long and accepting their artistic evolution.
love when i come across 2013 army like it just makes me so happy 🥺🥹🥹🫂
This is a kpoppies issue. Not an ARMY issue. So. It is a NON ISSUE. Thank you for once again for excellent points made on behalf of ARMY!
You don't even have to say anything as conclusion, namjoon says it all in 'change Pt2'😂😂

And risk not experiencing the whiplash when the playlist goes from Life Goes On to Not Today?? Never!
It's okay to have preferences but don't be pretentious about it
I love that they change, that their music evolves. It keeps them relative and I can listen to their entire discography without getting bored - ever
It's so wild they say stuff like that out loud and still get mad when others say their favs music all sounds the same 😂😂
@@monimuppet6132 It's one of the biggest contradictions the kpoppies use.
Because we all live in a society that revolves around the fears of change, most majority of people
have lived through a time period in which they either accept or deny the change, which correlates
with a time period of their life.
