in this video i explain all the bts and charlie puth interactions as well as other reasons why people don't like him. this is not me taking sides, i'm just giving some information and other people's opinions so you can form your own.

My dislike for CP comes from an interview he did back in 2015 where he was so full of himself that I was put off. Nothing to do with BTS, by the way. His songs are not my cup of tea, usually. "Left & Right" is catchy and I have supported it mainly for JK's sake. I never pay any attention to CP one way or the other. That said, ignoring is one thing, actively hating on someone is something entirely different and very problematic.

@@bungluna9211 interviews, videos, and tweets are only what people decide to show to us. Personally i dislike that people are so quick to have judgement based on these non authentic things. It's my personal belief that you can only truly know someone's attitude by meeting them. And that's that. The fact that you believe that about Charlie based on interviews- in my opinion, is not very sustainable. We don't know why these people act how they do in the environment we see them in. We know them only in specific situations. I'm not saying Charlie is not like that- frankly i have no clue and don't care to. However that kind of outlook on celebs is the reason why we can't have nice things. It's judging ppl you don't know based on unclear, non-concrete speculation and personal interpretation of someone's actions and words. It's simply not reliable or cool. Sure, interviews are only a split second of someone's personality, but you can still just simply not vibe with a person.
You can't like everybody and not everybody likes you. You don't have to have a reason, it's just like that sometimes. And I think an interview is more than enough to be able to tell if you vibe with an artist or not
We choose to like BTS; JK chooses to like Charlie. It's not our decision.
I have no idea what he's like as a person, but I've generally liked what I've heard of his music so far. To me, he seems like your classic music geek/prodigy, the kind of guy who had a starring role in every musical performance, whom other kids in school both admired and secretly hated because he didn't have to work at his talent.
His perfect pitch doesn't seem to be just a tool for him, it's an important aspect of how he takes in the world, and I can't help but wonder if JK sees him as a bit of a kindred spirit because of that (since he has it, too). I kind of love Charlie's eternal musical curiosity. He's always experimenting with things, and even when it doesn't quite gel it's cool to see his process in action.
I'll say one thing, though...I watched a slew of interviews of him after L&R came out, and if he harps on his perfect pitch a lot, it's probably because he's *constantly* being asked about it. EVERY INTERVIEW I watched had him demonstrate his ability like he was some kind of trained circus seal.
It'd be like a colorblind person coming to you with a bunch of objects-- "What color is this ball?" "Er... it's red." "WOW! Did you hear that, everybody, he said it's RED! Amazing!!! And how about this cube?" "Green." "WHOOOOOOAAAAA!" He's really patient about it, but OMG I don't know how he puts up with it.

He said that he was pretty sure JK had it when Charlie performed with BTS in 2018 (at the MGA Awards in Korea)-- JK was hitting the exact right notes in Charlie's songs every time without accompaniment, and JK confirmed it when they worked together on L&R. (He said he didn't say anything about it earlier because he was shy about it.)

An interesting analysis. To me the only thing that matters is that JK wanted to collab with him. He was finally able to do this, and looked like he enjoyed himself. To ARMYs who don't like Charlie...did you like "Left and Right"...are you supporting JK?
Are you sure JK wanted to collaborate with him or do you think all the boys are being used by the buy-in during the IPO and all of a sudden all these collaborations start materializing for American boys to get in on some of the money action and popularity by using BTS? Not one of those guys or groups come close to bringing in money and popularity that BTS does! The IPO destroyed all their dreams! RM has stated more than once that they can’t talk about it! All they talked about before the IPO was how they wanted to grow old together as a group! All of a sudden the conversation changes 180 degrees? The minute the IPO happened I predicted that the break up would happen and it did! I also predicted the boys would sell some of their stock and next thing I see is RM and Jin selling a large potion of their stock. I have been researching this since the IPO because the guy, Scooter Braun, screwed Taylor Swift royally and I knew he would cause trouble again! There’s so much we can’t see and I am sure the boys contracts leave very little wiggle room to say or do anything about it! I could tell you a ton more but don’t have time for it right now! Hope you understand where I am coming from?
I don’t dislike Charlie and I think he has a good voice. I just don’t like what is going on and I am sure it is his company pushing this more than he is!
@@Grams1942 he’s stated multiple times,in the past, that he wanted to collab with Charlie. I can only take him for his word. As far as the rest, folks can theorize whatever they want. I’m glad to see chapter 2… they are grown men & it’s natural for them to want to grow… when they come back they will be an entirely different BTS… it would have been very sad to imagine them doing the same things they have done while in their 10s/20s into their 30s/40s.

@@Grams1942 Everyone views things through their life experiences. I saw folks who were very concerned about how the changes coming about would affect their fandom. Change is difficult even if it’s planned & for the better. There may be some members who weren’t as enthusiastic as others about pursuing solo endeavors. Suga had already stepped out when he worked with Psy. His song wasn’t right for their group but perfect for Psy. Of course, BigHit was OK with that or it wouldn’t have happened. JHope didn’t come up with his album overnight so he was well on his way to make music at wasn’t appropriate for BTS either. They didn’t have to say anything but then their fans would have freaked out…but now everyone is expecting new things. I’m wondering what their 2023 Global concert, in support of Busan’s World Expo bid, will be like.

I feel like there are a lot of other artists who can wax poetic about how talented and attractive BTS are but can't name a single song outside of their biggest, all English songs. It's fine if you're baby ARMY but I get weird vibes when it's clear that they want to piggy-back off the existing ARMY fandom that BTS build from the ground up, yet take no time to look into how they actually did that. But yeah, the targeted attacks are messed up, ARMY is about love and acceptance; if someone is clout chasing, just ignore and move on, the attention is what they want. * shrugs *
Yra it's so annoying-not even with those artists but "baby armys" who say they liked bts for a bunch of time but eventually only mention 3 English songs and ytc if you're lucky. It's so annoying because I've been an army for 5 years straight and can't imagine being that ignorant
I don't think charlie was clout chasing because as much as i remember JK mentioned he likes charlie in an interview and charlie mentioned in a recent interview that they are kinda best friends now and also mentioned it bunch of times in past too so imo Armys shouldn't hate charlie. he is obsessed with music he mentions alot of artists both trending and normal based on their music, so i think he actually like bts we are thinking he was clout chasing because he is an artist but he is a human too

I came to know that “Hating” and “disliking” are two different matters. To be very honest everyone has there likings and dislikings. It’s not wrong to dislike a thing… but spreading hate about it is wrong… mocking someone’s social media account… commenting filthy language is what’s called HATE in my case…
It’s natural to dislike things but it’s better if that disliking stays with you and just up to the sentence “yeah I just don’t think I like it” rather than saying “oh she’s a clout chaser…. He only collaborated with them for attention”

I agree, our focus should be on supporting BTS and JK on his first time without the other members. I only care that JK was wonderful as always. A Puth fan I will never be, but I won't let that interfere with my love and support for JK singing this song.

You missed the part where he has been openly thirsting after JK on TicTok while sitting naked in the bath. As for perfect pitch, we all know JK has it and how they each respond to their abilities exposes one of the great reasons many ARMYs don't care for Puth. We are used to being fans of humble artists and Puth definitely does not present himself as humble. And as for being a Trumpl supporter, that's all I needed to know about him. Have I supported the song for JK? Of course, but Puth's behavior after the song's release in trying to imply that he and "Kookie" are a thing goes too far. It was a very, very long time from the release until JK started to promote the song and he really hasn't done much to date. I wonder if HYBE was trying to figure out how to react to the way Puth was attempting to promote it in interview after interview implying some beyond collab relationship. I don't care who JK dates. That's his business. I hope he has found or will find a person to love and who loves him back. Thank you for putting this together... I didn’t know much about him at all until I started watching the Left & Right MV with JK and my YT timeline started to fill up with his interviews. Was still trying to figure out why he had such a bad rap with ARMY, but your video explains it all though. He does come across as a little flaky and rather immature, which is a pity because he may not be like that at all and we’d never know for sure.

Charlie obviously is a huge fan of not only Jungkook, but BTS as well. He often talks about how talented they are as artists, and explains how much he enjoys them and their work. He also has had a friendship with Jungkook since the mga awards from 2018. Please, stop with all the misunderstandings about Charlie, and support them both! If Charlie actually did all this for selfish reasons, Jungkook wouldn't continue to work with him. Jungkook is an adult. He's not dumb. Jungkook also has only talked positively about Charlie, so i really dont understand why so many people dont like him. Let's all support whatever they do and move on! He is super talent music genius and that is one of the reason Jungkook loves his songs pretty much. What is the need of pointing out why some army dislike "Charlie puth". Basically given the people who dislike someone what is so great about that. They don't have to like him just move on. It did not say "people" but specifically said army, army suppose to be like BTS if they don't like someone just roll out don't say stuffs like that hiding behind "army". Charlie Puth got a lot of heat on twitter and tiktok when he collabs with JK for "we don't talk anymore". He told them that normally he would not care but young adults should not be like that it is not healthy for them. Now Left and Right is getting so much attention no doubt a huge part is Jungkook's credit and same goes for Charlie Puth. If it was only Charlie on that song it would be popular too but not as much as combine with Jungkook. When you posting a video on a platform that view by the world about some "army" dislike someone especially an artist. That is spreading hate when there were no reasons for it. He did not do anything nor they know him personally.

About a year ago, I wondered why so many ARMYs had negative things to say about CP, who I knew literally nothing about. So I went to his Twitter and scrolled through his feed for an hour or so. Even keeping in mind that what's revealed in Twitter posts is pretty one-dimensional, I was not impressed; he seemed full of himself, and the signs of attention-seeking (and clout-chasing, the two do tend to go together) were consistent. It's not unreasonable for an artist to promote themself, but he came across very single-minded, and very willing to praise when it would get him attention, then turn and drop the subject when he'd got what he wanted.
I did not know about the conflicts with other artists. The TMI and foot-in-mouth and tone-deaf statements are totally typical of a certain kind of attention-seeker: the 'there's no such thing as bad publicity' type. (And his perpetual deletions suggest a lack of accountability, a 'remove the evidence' mindset. Silly, in the era of screen-caps.) The problem with people who constantly seek attention is that they tend to flip their convictions based on whatever will get them the most attention!
We have no way of guessing whether his attitude is due to too much ego or too little self-esteem, but either way the result is a very shallow, rather cringy personality. It'd be nice to think that some of JK's own humility and depth of personality might rub off, but... :shrug: Whatever else, CP does have a good voice, JK did enjoy the music, and ultimately that's what matters.

I did no research on Charlie but got the same vibe as you. I’m a Grandma so the few things I heard him say made him seem childish, immature and not highly intelligent! Although I don’t have a problem with him but his company and the cut throat entertainment industry as a whole. I liked the Right and Left song as a whole and thought it was well done but ,of course, extremely insincere as the only reason it topped the charts so fast was because of JK but they have to say it’s Charlie’s song as JK was only featured. This makes it the top joke of the week without disparaging either guy, just the companies they work for!

As you saw In the other BTS interviews Jungkook always said he wants to collab with him.

Charlie used to really rub me the wrong way for the first bts/Jungkook related reasons you stated but now I’ve since matured and I just don’t really care for him that much. I don’t warrant or condone hating him though, especially not for something from so long ago that doesn’t affect the members or especially Jungkook himself. For Left & Right I’m supporting Kookie mostly, but good for them both for creating a song together and having a friendship. I really don’t think Jungkook would appreciate ‘armies’ sending hate on his behalf when he doesn’t personally have any issues with Charlie. Thanks for clarifying this objectively, my opinion on Charlie is still fairly neutral but still, I feel this needed to be said.
i thought that the reason why people didn't like charlie was because after his performance with them, he unfollowed them all and never spoke about them again, unlike before when he was promoting the performance

I don't have much of an opinion about Charlie Puth I liked his music when I was younger and I don't know much about him as a person but following BTS and hearing multiple times in interviews that jk wants to collab with him and seeing the pure joy on his face when he answers "Charlie Puth!😁" to the popular Collab question I was so happy for him when he got to work with him I will always be happy for him and the whole group for collabing with their idols it doesn't matter our personal opinions about those artists all that matters is their joy to be able work with those they look up to🥰
Well, it is JK's choice who he collabs with. Obviously JK doesn't have an issue so maybe ARMY just follow JK's lead.

I don't need all this history to be able to say that I don't care for him. You don't either. Sometimes there are just people you like or don't like for no rational reason. You may change your mind about them in the future or you may not. Jungkook has about as much of a chance to change my mind about CP as I have of changing his mind about collaborating with him, or of CP caring what I think - which is zero. And that should be fine. I don't go around hating on anyone, and celebrities live with the fact that not 100% of people will like them 100% of the time. Let me just say, I don’t know if this is true of all people with absolute (perfect) pitch, but I used to be married to a guy who has it. He was a lot like Charlie in that he talked about it a lot and showed it off. Which for me I found more interesting than anything else. He was a child prodigy who played piano at age 2 (which I didn’t believe until his mother corroborated it and she is only a truth teller), and he had absolute pitch ability. He could listen to a song once, then play it on the piano. I’ve been told this bragging over it is common amongst people with absolute pitch, so while I get some people find it annoying, it’s not a reason to hate someone. The other stuff, well honestly, who knows. He doesn’t seem to be a Trump supporter now (which btw, we need to stop hating people over differing politics, we’re allowed to have different opinions and there is nuance in those opinions, we should be talking to each other reasonably about them), whether he’s a clout chaser, womanizer or any of these other things, I would take it all with a grain of salt. Jungkook likes Charlie, so there must be a good camaraderie there. They just collaborated on a song, they aren’t going to be some new duo group from here on out. I get he may be problematic, but he’s not Hitler. If it makes anyone feel any better, he expressed his disagreement with Roe v Wade being overturned.

the thing that bothered me the most about charlie interacting with jungkook was that promotion clip (included at the end of this video) where charlie is in a car with jungkook and he's beat-boxing in close proximity and i can see charlie spraying spit into the air, in a closed space, during the freaking pandemic. i saw that and was like "protect jungkook please!"

I also saw him on the voice when he was Camila Cabello's expert. I didn't get any bad vibes from him. He seemed like a cool guy. I don't have anything against him. I have nothing against Charlie and never have. I have never thought that he's used anyone for clout. I think that even though I don't stan him, per se, I can see that he is obviously talented and successful on his own and simply expressing admiration for aquiring a fandom like Army is not a negative thing. Halsey has pretty much said the same thing but was never attacked or accused of using BTS for clout. I don't get the vitriol and honestly I feel second hand embarrassment on BTS's part. I often wonder what they think when they have to face artists whom have been accused of these things. I think they are extra nice to them because of it. That is who they are. Its just a concern for BTS members going on a collab with westerners. I jave this notion that when the BTS became a global sensation and now would want to pusue their individual somo albums, right away, there are offers ffrom the western countries. I hope that the members will not let themselves be used merely for the westerners to be famous and for money. The bts members are public figures and they have this global reputation to protect, being korea’s presidential envoys. Their presence also at the United Nations and at Washington D.C, speak of their iconic reputation as ambassadors of goodwill. Charlie Puth is not popular but his collab with Jk definitely elicited various reactions from their fans.
I don't know if Charlie Puth is a good or bad person, right or wrong, it's just that I find him a little weird. However, because of that, I would never ruin the credit Left & Right deserves. I'm sorry, but I'm not ashamed of being part of the (some) who dislikes Charlie Puth. I didn't like what he did during Dynamite era. It was infuriating because ARMYs are doing all work to promote Dynamite especially in West. It was just days when Dynamite dropped then he made a cover without a proper credits. All his fans thought it was his song, so it was frustrating to tell thousands of his fans that's a new song from BTS.
But disliking him doesn't mean I will not support any collab he'll ever gonna make with BTS. I'm still Streaming L&R because it's Jungkook's work, & I love his vocal performance in that song.
