I totally agree with this ranking. I maybe would give Graham Norton a little more credit--his show is just very British and that sense of humor can be more aloof--but I still think his placement was good. Jimmy Fallon also speaks highly of BTS to other guests. Like if they're brought up on his show otherwise (which they are frequently--their music is used in games too) he's just as respectful to them.

I personally think that its not a bad thing because everyone will have their time at the top, for example now that Usain is retired ( of which we clearly know is not the case with bts *insert my rapidly beating heart.* ) but this does not mean other groups cannot try to go for the top spot going to the usain bolt matter, the worlds new fastest man.
What trevor said does not take anything away from bts and you cannot deny that every group including p1harmony wants to be bts big or bigger in terms of reach and impact.

Okay, maybe I go over the roof with this because I always dreamed to do journalism and Fallon it's definitely my biggest inspiration, but c'mon, you cannot tell me that the boys don't love him, like genuinely. And it's reciprocate!! Jimmy tells over and over how he loves their music (Fly to my Room, a b-side track being his favorite from BE like hello???) and how he appreciate them as artists and people. He hugs them tightly and really enjoy being on a conversation with them. He pays attention to them while they are speaking another language, and give chances and time for each one of them to express themselves, joke along with them and get into their weirdness. And what to talk about the boys themselves? They absolutely LOVE Jimmy, Jimin it's practically his son, they all feel comfortable to be themselves and that's what matters the most. Namjoon really seems to have a genuine admiration on Jimmy, they let themselves be. And for me the outgoing point, Yoongi feels comfortable enough to try to speak English when they are together, to joke around and laugh a lot, being the introvert bean that he is, this alone shows how welcoming Fallon is, and I love him for that.
Ufff sorry it to big and may be confusing because English it's not my first language but I had to say how much I love Fallon with the boys and the bond that they have together, as well the respect that they share with each other. Hope they never lose this.

Graham Norton is an excellent host and he had a short slot with the boys. They looked happy and comfortable and the show is very irreverent so on that level Graham gave them the respect of integrating them with the other guests, joked with them and basically just treated them as any other guest on the show. It would be great to have BTS back on the show.

He also speaks very well and interacts with all members equally and not just the members the speak English well (for all groups). Fallon was also the first show that invited BTS years ago when other shows just invited them to perform or play a game. He's interviewed BTS from 2018-2022 and genuinely seems like a great host who admires them

You put my feelings for James in perfect words, and it really made me realize why so many were mad at him.
The "joke" was basic and lacked class, but we have heard it many times and it's whatever I guess. But James is someone ARMY has come to like...
So its not just someone that made a stupid joke, but someone ARMY more or less trusted that made the stupid joke.
ARMY was hurt more than they where mad...
BTS addressed the situation, and he still refused to say sorry and tried the victim card.
So now ARMY and James Corden are back to square on. It's fine that BTS gets interviewed by him as long as they are comfortable.
But ARMY won't really be that playful and supportive of James ever again because we no longer feel included and welcomed by him. After all, we are all just a bunch of 15-year-old girls... Wich is still insulting teen girls, but also generalizing so so many people that are not teen girls...

I agree with the rankings and this video in general, but I want to point out a couple of things: Jimmy Kimmel is a jerk, but he wasn’t implying fans would kill BTS, he was talking about other people getting crushed in a stampede to get to BTS, like what happened at the Travis Scott concert. His reference to BTO was about a 1970s band called Bachman Turner Overdrive, which was also usually shortened to their initials. It was a GenX reference. But the IBS thing was really bad.

I prefer to see the guys with Corden. He actually goes OUTSIDE and sweats for his work. Jimmy Fallon has an ability to make big celebrities feel comfortable and heard. And bts have become big names in the industry so it is refreshing to see a host actually trying to know them and not just use them for clicks.
I've been part of fandoms since my teens and became an Army in 2020/2021ish. Before that I was a belieber (still am) and Jimmy is the only host I actually think JB feels comfortable with. He has some of his funniest interview moments and running jokes with him, cause with the jokes Jimmy laughs with him, not at him, like MOST talkshow host do. Jimmy Fallon overall just seems genuinely interested in the conversation, and over the years his conversational abilities and timing have gotten better which is amazing to see since a lot of people were pissed when he took over the show replacing the og host.
I am studying communication in hopes to become a host and interviewer and wish to make guests feel comfortable aswell. Celebrities do a thousand interviews and are super tired, the least thing host should do is make the feel good and have actually good questions.

I always thought Fallon got too much flack as a late night host and hate for his “fake laugh” etc.
But I think just seeing how Fallon handled and treated BTS so well every time they came on compared to every other late night host says a lot about him.
He seems like a professional and knows how to handle people and make them feel comfortable. Instead of make any of his guests the butt of the jokes, he makes jokes both the audience and the guests can laugh at. Yes, he sometimes jumps the gun and interrupts guests to ask questions, and I’m sure it’s true that most of his laughs aren’t 100% genuine. …But who’s are? Who in a friend group or meeting new people in general don’t laugh at a joke someone makes even if it might’ve not been super funny to you? If u stood there frowning, you’d look like a jerk and it would be awkward and make that person feel uncomfortable and tense. Going on a show to be interviewed can be intimidating enough. The least u can do as a host is make your guests feel confident and comfortable to be there and talk and joke with you without feeling like they need to try and “impress” and be worthy of the host’s time. Jimmy puts in effort to do that and a lot of the guests he has on seem to appreciate it, especially if they’re newly famous. Sometimes being honest and genuine all the time isn’t what’s best for social interactions. Jimmy hypes people up instead of tear them down for the sake of a crummy joke, and I appreciate that. Especially with BTS, since they get a lot of hate as it is, are from a foreign country and don’t know english that well. They of all guests need to be treated with respect and attempt to make an honest connection with them despite the language barrier in order to make them feel they belong.

I've been a big Colbert fan since the Daily Show. The "hand gestures" skit was hilarious. For me, it was the first time BTS did a skit on American TV with humor that truly landed well. Usually, there's jokes and BTS delivers the jokes somewhat clumsily because it's either in English or not their sense of humor based on what we know of the members. But the hand gestures skit was so deadpan and their delivery was clearly rehearsed in a way that showed Colbert and his crew truly worked together with BTS on how to deliver the lines and the humor wasn't as dumbed down just because the lines were in English. Chef's kiss, imo.

The Colbert interview is special to me because it was the first time my dad actually watched BTS and it put it in perspective for him how big this group was/is. He gave them a chance and would call me when BTS was on tv. The car Kareoke was fun for what it was and got my mom interested thou Jimmy Fallon was always my fav & my mom stayed up with me to watch it & it had both of us laughing with the games. I feel like after the karaoke & street performances James Corden lost interest in them. I liked their interactions at first but the joke and lack of an apology showed his true colors of clot chasing in my opinion.

I's always been watching segments of Tonight Show so it was quickly recommended the moment I started watching BTS mvs. I immediately felt the warmth Jimmy has for his other guests towards BTS so much so that I didn't pick up any awkwardness between them. And then there's the ellen show, one I'd been watching regularly at the time, that was cringe! Looking back you can tell Jimmy put in the effort. It was their first interview but he did his research, even the gesture of wearing chimmy headband because Jimin's bt21 character is Chimmy and their names are the closes in similarity. That effort shows. I really liked the interactions they had on the show and he's always felt like a genuine fan when he says he loves BTS.

James, on the other hand, seems to do everything for himself, to put himself in that limelight. For me, you are the first person to nail it on the head with all the issues I have regarding James and especially BTS's UN speech. I thought he was so cool and genuinely loved the guys, but, he is evidently a really good actor. The first thing he should've done was apologize, even before he saw them again. If he truly loved being, "Papa Mochi", he should have shown genuine pride in their speech. I don't think he ever listened to it. And he totally blew off how upset ARMY was. Thank you for your video!! I think it's worth mentioning that Jimmy Fallon is also a big fan of the boys when bts were mentioned in other interviews and Jimmy mentioned that some of his favourites songs were from the B-sides tracks such as 'Fly To My Room' which is admirable because it shows that he actually took the time and effort to explore their songs which is honestly not needed for any talk show hosts to do. On top of that, how Jimmy treats most if not all of his guests respectfully and at the same time free and easy so that his guests are always comfortable in their own element (letting them speak their mind in their own language etc.). Kudos to Jimmy! Such an extraordinary host indeed!

I am absolutely blown away by Nam-joon and his brilliance during that interview.

I think you meant to say Jimmy Fallon. He was on SNL for many years. Then he was also a writer on SNL. I bet that SNL has been on 40 years. It uses a very self deprecating sense of humor and that is what we have grown up with. I don’t think you have the right to speak for all ARMY. Korea and the US are both democracies and everyone has a right to their own opinion. I’m quite sure you have not spoken to???50,000+ fans. We have to chill and not be so judgmental. Jimmy Fallon is always fun. I saw him with the Jonas Brothers and asked them questions about each other. They could choose to answer a question that would embarrass their brother or eat something like a cricket or bird saliva. I know I transgressed a lot but I remembered that and thought you and friends might enjoy it if you could find reruns of it. During Covid lockdown BTS performed Butter for Jimmy Fallon. They did it outside on this amazing bridge, but I couldn’t remember any bridges like that in NYC. BTS was on the World Cup??? Bridge over the Han river. They walked it and sang like they owned Seoul. It’s my favorite performance of theirs. I still watch it over and over.

This is the full quote of that joke:
"It actually marks the first time that 15-year-old girls everywhere found themselves wishing that they were Secretary-General António Guterres"
Nowhere on this sentence/quote does he say all ARMY are 15-year-old girls. What he's actually implying is that ALL 15-year-olds are BTS fans. There's a difference. What he's implying here also is that most 15-year-old girls have no idea who Antonio Guterres is (because they're teenagers). That's the joke: teen girls have no clue about an important political figure but at the same time, they want to BE this political figure because he's in close proximity to BTS.
Too many don't read the entire quote and only go off of what the headline says: "James Corden calls ARMY 15-year-old girls". That's not what he said. Wish more people would actually read the entire quote rather than the headline...

@@AdriGoddess Totally understand. And I did see the entire statement from James, I remember thinking that James's writers made a mistake and had no clue who BTS or ARMY really were. I knew that James would have intense fall out coming his way from ARMY. Especially, since I am personally part of ARMY and a 66 retired Doctor of 40 years from the States. I had the delight and honor to watched BTS most current speech in real time.
