It was an absolutely thoughtful and informative video of his album so that I fully understand it now. I have a Masters in Clinical psychology and J-Hope’s exploration of the two sides of himself and understanding his identity and purpose in life are common things each one of us goes through. I would say that his journey, and any of the BTS members journeys, is more complicated because it is done while being in the public limelight and under cameras all these years. J-Hope and each of the members have negotiated their journeys with great class. I love them all. Thank you so much for doing this video even though it took you 6 re-edits. It’s completely worth it. I’m an American Army and I streamed it live on Hulu. It was a legendary performance.

One thing about him that people don't realize is that he is an "ideal perfect artist"...He was born for this. His music intelligence, his powerful stage presence, his deep and lyrically strong rap, his unmatched dance, his personality adding to that. He is the ACE of Kpop even though the "kpop" category is too small to hold him in. He is a superstar.

Hobi is my bias and I cannot even verbalize how proud I am of him. I always believed that his singing voice needs to see the light because it is gravelly and distinct. I am glad that he made another solo project because in a group, each member shows a part of who they are. Solo projects will launch them independently and with their own artistic nuances that is not BTS but uniquely their own. I loved the heavy beats and the rock elements of their early music and Hobi gave that to me in Jack in the Box. Wow.. just so proud!

His performance and show was AMAZING!!
I live in Chicago; have never been to Lollapalooza; never wanted to attend.
It was literally above and beyond what I expected from a Lollapalooza performance. BUT for a JHope performance, it was not surprising. He has artistic perfectionism. It was literally a CONCERT!!
His Rock side shined! His Rap shined! His HipHop/R&B! Dancing!!
His artistry: lyrics, visual effects, music…angsty passion (LOVED IT!!) to pop (I Love POP and Hope World…were AWESOME), costumes…deep.
      Anyway…I love your bias.
I was so happy for him and so proud of him💜
I truly left the concert with a larger appreciation for him.

Fun little detail that wasnt visible in vids of Hobipallooza: In the intro story, a tiny little light flew around the stage (just like the tiny light in the Pandora story) and finally landed on stage just as Hobi jumped out of the lift. It was super cute and only those were there could actually see it apparently.

I was at Hobipalooza and even though it's been months, I'm still not over how incredible of a performance it was. Having been an ARMY for years, I'm well versed on how talented and dedicated to their music and performance all the members are, but especially J-Hope and my god he delivered. I actually attended with a friend who had never heard a BTS song before and now she is an J-Hope biased ARMY who despite going to dozens of concerts before and since Hobipalooza still contacts me just letting me know how Hobi's performance was the best one she's ever seen and how bad she wants me to take her to the next BTS concert after enlistment/hiatus. Watching this gave me such a rush of serotonin and now I'm gonna go rewatch the full performance bc the concert euphoria hit me all over again. Great work on this video as always

J-hope as a solo artist really makes you think "what's next?" I'm also craving for more to see his vision, to see his passion grow. I want people to learn about him as an artist and not just the surface level sunshine "hope" of BTS or dance captain "Chief Jung". His lyricism, visuals, and his sound is so different. I want people to see more of his musicality. And Hobi really showed his versatility. Not just his character, rap style, or dancing, but in producing music as well.

And i love how the setlist, JITB is perfectly organised. Because that is just so JHOPE of him to organise everything.
And the energy he pulled of alone at #hobipalooza which no 0ne can do. To perform for an hour straight, with choreography, singing, rapping. And just a bit of time to take a breather in between

What I've understood after having followed j-hope's music is that he is a truly genuine artist, and a well rounded one at that. He cares about the music he creates and puts his entire heart and soul into making it.
His lyrical composition is so raw and unembellished that it makes you sit still in self reflection.
BTS songs where he's main composer have some of the most forthright n true to life lyrics, like the song Dis-ease.
I cannot wait to see more of j-hope

I remember I was hoping you do an analysis when his album would be out. At that time , I couldn’t know what a journey Jack in the box as an album and his performance in Lollapalooza would have such an impact in a the music world,.. I just loved so much you first video I wanted just another one that would highlight him as an artist and great lyric writer he is with his new album, even I wanted I couldn’t imagine such a critical success of his new songs…. They all wrote an article about him NME, ROLLING STONE, BILLBOARD,MTV, and even the Grammy’s … first for More, second for his album and the last his concert…. and for real I just spent just a month with a smile that couldn’t fade in any time .. I watched already all your source interviews.. I’ve been spoiled .. as much materials we had, but your editing give such a great input again in the Hope’s world and his reflection for his new album are so well thought also … We need more channel like yours with more emphasis on their artistic side, ..and see them for their talent first .. I thank you again , and I hope people could see your video in grand scale .. Many thanks …

I want to talk about music box reflection a bit more...
The track ties into the ongoing box theme of the entire album.
There are three boxes in the album...
Pandoras box is the origin of jhope, the myth and story.
Jack in the box is his purpose which is to spring out when people need him
    And finally
Music box is the medium. Its through music he tells us this story.
I think that's what the track stands for..
It's absolutely genius to use different types of boxes to explain his story.

Great analysis, I found this channel just today and the video about Hoseok's music career is one of the best esse I've watched. I even found out details about the new album that I hadn't thought about before. But I would like you to reveal more not only the significance of this album and the festival in particular, but also how Hoseok presents his music. More about the performance itself. About his musicality, honesty on stage and furious charisma. This is one of the main factors why people can't come to their senses after his performance. Why did people unfamiliar with his music react so positively, not even understanding the language and not understanding all this deep meaning of his music. They just felt HIS passion for music. This is exactly what attracts the audience to the artist - to see someone burning with what they create, and to feel it, as if you are experiencing it yourself and it becomes a part of you.
That's why I think he's one of the best musicians, he does everything with full dedication.

I still get goosebumps from watching the crowd living their best life, his energy and stage presence here for over an hour was INSANE and unmatched!! HOBIPALOOZA was LEGENDARY 🔥🔥 One of the best performances I've ever seen fr. I'M SO PROUD 😭There were almost 15 million people watching on Weverse. He's so f talented and HIS VERSALITY. 😫 Hobi was the most anticipated artist, he made history as a solo artist and broke record becoming the highest ticket-selling artist in lollapalooza history just a few days after his official debut, he surprised the locals and sold out 1M of merch there in a few hours... JUNG HOSEOK DID THAT. 💜
Besides the records, he's just an incredible artist.I've always like his songs and lyrics and I always find his music and concepts interesting and unique. His music has a lot of personality! Hope world is a high quality and a great mixtape. I remember I was really impressed since he showed us a strong color of him as soloist, deep lyrics and versatility too. CNS was a great collab with Becky G and it was something that surprised everyone.
I've always really like J-hope as a soloist but it was with Jack In The Box that he really blew my mind. We got to know him as a person and as an artists even more and discovered new sides of him. I just love the lyrics and deepness of every song, how each track connects perfectly with each other and the whole concept and of course bc it's full of bangers. I can't believe it's been year and a half since it was released .-. Anyways, I really liked the album a lof since the beginning but over the time I just loved it more and more and now is one of my favorites albums ever ngl. 🙌

After watching his other performances, interviews, the documentary, etc. I can feel even more Hoseok's raw passion for making music and show us how he sees rhe world. He was already making a name for himself in the industry inside and outside South Korea, and with 'On the street' I've felt that even more too. Since then I noticed that lot of people got interested in him and is appreciating his discography and stage presence more and I'm loving that. I'm so happy for him and I'm so proud. Hoseok is amazing, 💜 I miss him so much so here I am watching this again😭

Great and extensive analysis. When Jhope performed at Lollapalooza, he amazed me as a great artist. His duality of being black and white gives us a perspective of the different sides of a human being, all the good and the bad. In spite of our failures and challenges, there is always hope, and courage to fight back and be the best version of ourselves. I loved how you connect all the songs of JITB and tell us the story of not only of JHope but for each one of us. Thank you for sharing your pov. I think you should put this in writing as a blog because of the many lessons we can learn from the album JITB.

The themes in Arson that you discussed lowkey reminds me of the Wings and Map of the soul eras because these eras (tho perhaps wings more) explored the idea of morality being a really messy thing. This is accomplished in Wings through the whole Demian and Nietzsche inspiration and themes, and the Jungian inspiration in MOTS. I like the way he handled it!

I'm glad you mentioned how some people were mentioning Jack one is real, not colour. People tends to forget people have different dimension. We can't one dimension of person as whole personality. Life is not Black & White. No but really this is perfect. Please keep marking these videos. I really hope your channel keep growing. I'm rooting for you

Such a great video ! You gave me a another perspective of JITB, it's very well explained and very interesting ! J-Hope - more like BTS; are truly an inspiration for me personally, and the whole Hobipalooza concert was clearly out-of-this-world and I was really impacted and amazed by the fanchants, even tho I've watched it on weverse I have never seen such a crowd sooo involved for a festival concert, whether if I see it IRL or throught the internet. Even the numbers of people there amazed me: FREAKING 105K OF PEOPLE you tell me????? That's HUGE for a soloist, especially for a Korean/East-Asian artist, I had to put the video on pause to realize that ! 😅
To conclude: I just subscribed to your channel and your videos are super great, thanks for making this one ! 💜

Your videos are always really well structured and easy to follow. I have a newfound appreciation for the Jack in the Box album and for j-hope as an artist. Tysm!

The thing with j-hope is, it took me so long to recognize, but he's like THE artist in BTS. Like if you asked me, who is the best artist in BTS, point blank, you can only pick one, I would answer j-hope. All of BTS' members are immensely talented and dedicated, it's just that with j-hope it feels like we haven't begun to see the limits to his creative potential and artistic growth. Like his natural talent hasn't even been fully translated into creative energy yet. It's fascinating, and I'm excited to see where this journey will take us next.
I hope I can say all this without making it seem like I'm putting the other members down. j-hope isn't even my "favorite" of the group and part of the reason why it took me so long to recognize his talent is because I always just saw him as the "goofball" of the group or "the third rapper". I feel like I can't be the only one who went through that process. I do feel bad about it, but hey, it is what it is. I can do better in the future!
