In your free time (since the lives get blocked) you should watch his live performance of Who that he just did on Fallon three hours ago! He sounds impeccable and you can really tell that his mic is ON whenever he's singing! The difference between backing vocals and his live vocals is very distinct and it just shows what an amazing vocalist he is! Like my man did not miss a single note! SOTY. Jimin was just flexing. Got this on repeat. Jimin did an acoustic version and a live performance on the Tonight Show last night. His vocals are fire. This entire album is incredible. Aside from this song, Jimin has some beautiful high notes & runs in Rebirth & Slow Dance. Visuals, dancing, vocals, and video, crushed it. This guy doesn't miss. I don't understand why some people think this man can't sing. He is dancing full out and singing on the Tonight Show. He didn't miss a single note. Very hard to be that stable while dancing. I think it would be hard for anyone to tell if autotune is used (to fix notes) without deep analysis with specialised software. it's standard practice for everyone, nothing wrong with it if they used it. From a stylistic point of view, they chose to use a lot of autotune, not sure if it's on the live vocals or backgrounds but bts members have used autotune as a style choice so many times.

One thing you need to know is that jimin has been taking vocal lessons because he wanted to sing better. There is auto tune on the MV but there is also more weight or body to his voice that may seem like part of the effect. But if you watch his live jimmy fallon performance you will hear the new quality to his vocals. It still has that delicacy to it but also more stable and robust! You should also check out the acoustic and rock version! Amazing!

This autotune was used intentionally. He definitely doesn't need it. This was supposed to give a VHS 1990's vibe. It does that! Notice the use of VHS words throughout the MV.
I feel like the tuning in part is the early 00s style they're going for. But you should check out the Jimmy Fallon performance. It's a live vocal and you can hear more of Jimin's unique vibrato. (There's a backing track too ofc, but little tuning on the parts he is singing live, which is the majority of it)
