And, at last for Destiny, it automatically switches these settings for me depending on the game mode I am playing. The jump to 120 is nice. I know my monitor does 120hz over HDMI as Ive tested it with my PC.
@@xraystan same bro
The games have to have the option, just because the monitor can run 120hz doesn't mean all games will
I still don't know if I want a PS5, the lack of native 1440p resolution support is a real bummer to me.
😅
I’ve been watching vids on the PS5 the whole morning, tryna decide if I tell my landlord to take a hike and buy the console and open a RUclips Channel, this vid was helpful. Cuz now I know I don’t need a monitor.
Got the ps5 just saving up now for the TV I'll keep this in mind thanks

I finally got a ps5, can’t wait
See this is informational and quick to the point THANK YOU!!
I got my ps5 on Tuesday and I love it I was scratching my head wondering why I wasn’t getting 120 frames per second but I realized I need 120hz but this video helped thanks.
edit: my tv doesn’t support 120hz ;-;
Does it still run well and without problems? Like does your TV chug
i saw you commenting on "Right here" by lil peep so now i'm here.
It’s also worth mentioning that in some cases even if your screen supports 120Hz, it’s not through its’ Hdmi port (, rather DP usually), so be sure to check Hdmi port version when buying a new TV/Monitor.
i have never seen a tv with display port as its main output/input, idk what you’re talking abt bruh, you’ll only ever find display port on a monitor not a tv, consoles dont use display port man lmfao idk what you’re talking abt
and im sure if someone is spending 400+ dollars on a tv then they’ll think to check the specs of the tv before buying it
@@nikkybear That’s why I worded it the way I did. I was talking about any screen generally, since you can connect your console to a monitor as well (and many people do)
So you want to get a monitor that has hdmi 2.0 so it can run 1080p at 120hz?
@@saulgonzalez1645 Yes, that is sufficient, unless you want 4K/120Hz, which requires Hdmi2.1 if I’m not mistaken
Thanks, you solved my problem 120 Hz with Cold War.
very helpful , especially the last part , thank you 😁
Greetings ⭐2021 has already started and it will be a great year 🙌 I'm developing a game called Parallel, it's on Steam but I want to bring it to the consoles, weeks ago I brought a Gameplay.
I appreciate your optimism but, it won’t be a great year.
Also, the end of your sentence / plug doesn’t make sense.
Great info to know. HDMI 2.1 isn’t super worth it rn as there isn’t many games at all supporting 120 hz 4k. Hell there isn’t a terrible amount of games that support 120 frames, so the number of those that do 4k alongside it is even fewer
It is worth it.
@@crackhead2able which games you play that support 120 Hz 4k
@@mogli2006 far cry 6
I unfortunately made the mistake of buying a monitor that is not hdmi 2.1
You don’t have to change it. If left on default the game will automatically send 120fps refresh rate if the in game settings is set to 120. For example, mine is still set as default but if I play destiny 2 and enable 120fps (from in game settings) for crucible, it will automatically switch to 120.
Not for all games
@@flos3599 I think all games have a toggle in the in game settings
@@juaneer No, Cold War hasn't
Very good thanks a lot 👍👍👍👍👍, what monitor do you have ? , what hdmi 2.1 monitor do you recomend ?
Sweet. I just bought Samsung Q7OT 55” and my Ps5 should shop Monday and arrive on Tuesday. Can’t bloody wait to set them both up. Not unpacked tv yet and I may wait till next week to set both up together. 😁
@John Glasscock Thanks for the tip! So If I'm understanding correctly, no 50/60-60Hz outputs can play 120FPS? 60Hz allows for up to 60FPS and 120Hz allows for up to 120FPS correct?
Right
What if you have a 144hz moniter will you still get 120hz aswell
@@Freddo1 depends on the HDMI slot and the supported frequencies. If it's 4K120 certified at least then it will run 120Hz, you can't go by just the frames or Hz...

What monitor do you have? I was able to get a ps5 yesterday and now I'm looking into monitors for it
If your tv or monitor doesn’t support HDMI 2.1 but does support 120hz and up, then buy a EDID emulator on Amazon. This will allow you to play games at 120fps even if your monitor doesn’t support HDMI 2.0
Hope your doin good

I have to say, every time I see one of your videos, I immediately think, "click bait".
Yet I click. And every time I am pleasantly surprised with a piece of new info about my PS5.
Keep up the good work!
Since my tv does support 1080@120fps, I honestly feel less of a need to upgrade my TV.
With how everyone is talking about hdmi 2.1, they all make it seem like you'll never be able to achieve 120fps without it. Happy to see now that is not the case.
Nope but you're locked a 1080p
@@flos3599 not gonna kill me. I've been playing my ps4 at 1080 for the last 7 years.
For PvP FPS games like COD, I'd rather have the additional frames over graphics. I mean... Let's face it. Nobody has ever played COD for the graphics.
Destiny is a great example here too.
PvE content is all 4k (or close to it) 60fps.
Crucible matches, 1080 @120.
And, at last for Destiny, it automatically switches these settings for me depending on the game mode I am playing.
The jump to 120 is nice. But to drop close to $1000 for the luxury of not having to choose between either 4k or 120 is not worth it. I have the best of both worlds on the TV I already own.
@@paintedwolf1654 The jump to 120 is nice ? But you're already at 120 no?
It's not because it costs a lot that it is bad. Btw, you can find 4k120 tv at 600 dollars.
Which tv do you have ?
@@flos3599 Yes, you are correct. Mine can achieve 1080@120 or 4k@60
I'm just saying, that paying for an upgrade doesn't seem to be worth the money when I'm just paying for the convenience of not having to choose between 4k OR 120.
I'm sure I'll eventually make the upgrade, we'll see what all the next year holds for the new lineup of gaming TVs. The best is yet to come.
However, right now, I'm perfectly happy with the TV I have. Even more so with this little nugget of info. Lol

You don't have to change the game default. You can just select performance mode in the game settings, right?
Also, there are very few games that support 4K/120, so you'll typically have to choose between 4K/60 and 1080p/120 (or even 4K/30 and 1440p/60).
Yeh, you can just choose in game
