reviewed whole channel in one day, and truely inspiring. This tiny door project is I think for you symbolic meaning of " you never know what or who is behind that doors! Best regards from Croatia, EU, keep your imagination up!
I'm loving the shirt! ; ) Very awesome project Laura. I know you made it for a display but this is a good project to get familiar with the process on how to build a door in general. I have making a door on my to-do list so I'll make a small one first to practice I think.
that´s a good idea i think...also i find it´s a lot harder to be precise with these smaller builds...if you can get the joints tight on a small object...the bigger version will be a walk in the park :) can´t wait for that video! and i LOVE the shirt :) thanks, again!
I'm so pleased that I've subscribed and started watching your older videos. I always learn new tricks! Like that jointer/router. I don't think I've ever seen a unit that converts back and forth between the two like that. Magnificent! It must save so much space in the shop!
Between the wonderful film shots, the editing...and that cool thumb injury, this video comes across as one of your better works. Door is impressive as is the audio. Liked the shirt! Well done. Well Done!!
You still find ways to improve your camera work and editing. This is just amazing. And this is also the first time I saw your new jointer/planer - maybe I missed it before - it looks like a great machine compared to the one you used before. Thank you for sharing - great work like always.
yes! it is a beast. unfortunately not mine. a friend is looking for a new shop and i can use it until he found one. but if he ever takes it away i will buy the exact same maschine!
Great job Laura Kampf. My first time visiting. Just read about you in a comment on one of Frank Howarth's vids so I thought I'd come over here and check out this Laura gal. Really good work. My only problem is this: I noticed that you stained the panels "before" you placed them into their respective frames rather than waiting for the project to be finished before staining. This way the entire panel is covered... kudos to you. But then, you drilled out and installed the hinges "before" staining the frames. I would have thought that you'd stain after drilling and then install the hinges last. Maybe it's just me. At any rate, it's a small detail. Great job Laura. Really good videography too. Look forward to seeing more... and yes, I am subscribing to your channel !
Hi Laura for first time building a door you are the best . Love how it come out , don't know if you did it on purpose , but if you didn't .off course depends on material availability the grain on door panels should run like the tree grows , that is a rule of thumb . Not a criticism more a tip , like always love the video ! Your Brazilian American Fan .
You have very quickly became one of my favourite channels !!! No idea how you find time to think up ideas, plan them , build them , film it all , edit it , post it , read comments, answer comments, put drills through your thumb ;-) . . assume you still have to eat, sleep, shit and shower . . . DO YOU HAVE A CLONE ?
haha, thanks max! it´s great when people realize how much work it really is to make a video (or 2) every week. i try to have one day per week where i take at least half the day off to do something non work-related. but the rest of the week is pretty much non-stop working. but since this is my business and exactly what i want to do...i absolutly love it :)
I really love the idea of using wooden pins. Watched a video of John Zhu, who also used wooden pins. As Matthias Wandel showed once the wood is weaker as glued joints and so it is even weaker than screws. Since the entire door is made out of wood adding screws does not increase the durability and therefore adding wooden pins does not reduce the strength of joints. Very nice door!
Living as I do in the very heart of Texas (Austin) I love seeing you in that teeshirt. Yay, April! I understand why you’re not making stickers anymore, but I have to say, every time I watch Matt Cremona’s weekly updates, your sticker on the wall behind him seems to leap out at me. Great design is its own reward. Hope the thumb heals. My girlfriend is not the least bit jealous about how I moon over your videos. It’s all about the artistry.
i do make stickers, but i can´t send them out for free no more. my online shop will be up soon, then they will be available:) thanks for watching! haha!
You've got me curious about where it will go... I'm hoping its for Smudo (I hope I spelled that right.) I love your jointer/planer. Every time I see it I drool just a little bit.
SOOOOO love your work. It seems many are concerned about your thumb. For future reference, if that happens again, take a very small drill bit, clamp it in pin vise and carefully drill a small hole to relieve the blood, will heal and not look nearly so bad. Should also save the nail. Thanks for all your wonderful work.
I was sitting waiting for the video to come out :) gave me an idea of how I want my kitchen cabinet doors that I will be someday when I get done doing everything else around my house.
I really like your jointer plainer, such a awesome machine! Great video! I build custom wood doors for a living, so its cool to see it on a small scale, well done!
Another great job. I'm very jealous of that router table, though I confess, I do not have space for it anyway. Need to make a table of sorts for my trim router.
april wilkerson has a video were she built a super room-saving solution for her t-track table...i bet you could make that work for the router table, too :)
Great job as usual. I was thinking that maybe a blade with a flat tooth design would make some of the joints look even better. Video and music awesome.
First and most important: I love this tiny door, turned out great. flat tooth isn't designed for crosscuts. You can use the router or clean it with a chisel or shoulderplane. Greetz from Berlin
Great video and music, thanks. Magnificent timber. (And I hope this is not considered trolling - if you use a steel screw the same size as the brass screws to cut the thread in the timber, the heads on the brass screws stay perfect)
I've recently found your channel and my mild tool jealousy has just turned into full blown shop envy. You've got better taste in tools than anyone I've seen.
Awesome as always! It's nice to see someone actually using dowels for a change too. I've got a sneaky feeling it may be a little difficult to fit through that door though ;-)
Excellent video! The finished door came out really nicely. I really like the grain textures of the wood. Plus, how freakin' cool is that jointer / planer of yours?? A wood working Transformer! hehehe. I'd love to get my hands on one of those. As always, beautiful work!
Cool your shop, shame that here we of is practically impossible to have these equipment. Probably do not have and have are very expensive. Cool video. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thinking that you would soon drink from the bottle on the table to shrink down small enough to walk through (much like Alice), but you did not. What you did do was build a really nicely made tiny door. Great job with all the accessories!
This is a such a great build and that is some great looking walnut. I really like those hinges as well. Will be looking for some for future builds. Is that table saw available in the U.S.? Thanks for sharing
i am not sure if mafell sells stuff in the us. model is calle erika 85 c in case you wanna check it out. it´s a beautiful saw BUT it has one problem: no insertplate-so you won´t be able to put a dado stack in...just to let you know. other than that it´s a pretty awesome maschine!
Thank you for the info Laura I appreciate it. Not having a an insert plate is no problem. I use the router or router table 95% of the time. Gonna go searching now.
Great video. And the door turned out beautiful. And looks super sturdy. I would like to ask about your thoughts on why you made the door like a cabinet door and not like a house door. I would guess you can use the gadget on any door or drawer with a little modification. Great job.

what an amazing product you've made of youtube in such a short time. It's a synergy you're going to be careful of; as companies see how valuable you are for product promotion. Now I want one of those bluetooth thingies, and a tiny door to put it on.
thanks! i loved this project because everything worked so well together. rockler tools, elgato products and my solutions to present all that. fantastic! would love to do that more often...if the products are as cool as these :)
Laura, you do realize you'll have to post a bad video every once and a while, just so we know you are human. This is awesome.
Maybe a collection of outtakes would be a nice idea.
hahaha, thanks hugo!
So cool. I need to figure out how to automate the opening and closing of a door this size for my cat.
nice! great project!
Beautiful work! Loved the video editing too.
If you were on the other side......lol
reviewed whole channel in one day, and truely inspiring. This tiny door project is I think for you symbolic meaning of " you never know what or who is behind that doors! Best regards from Croatia, EU, keep your imagination up!
Excellent job! All your cuts and joints are so beautifully crisp and clean. Love it!
thanks!
Beautiful Laura!! Just beautiful!! This little door makes me see magic behind it. RATHER - the magic you created behind the build. Great stuff!!!
thanks, nicholas! it´s nice to hear how much you appreciate my work!
I'm loving the shirt! ; ) Very awesome project Laura. I know you made it for a display but this is a good project to get familiar with the process on how to build a door in general. I have making a door on my to-do list so I'll make a small one first to practice I think.

You have taken RUclips video production to a higher level. No one else comes close. Thumbs up and subbed. All hail Queen Laura! The King of RUclips!
wow, terry, thanks dude! i appreciate your support!
You are such a stand out, your talent is fabulous and in my house we never tire of watching your videos! Thank you x

Beautiful Laura! I love your lighting and all the close shots. So cool! You're the bomb!
:)
I told you I wouldn't miss it!!! Great little big project!!!
:)
Wonderful video & work. The walnut is very elegant. Thanks for sharing.
walnut is my favorite!
I'm so pleased that I've subscribed and started watching your older videos. I always learn new tricks! Like that jointer/router. I don't think I've ever seen a unit that converts back and forth between the two like that. Magnificent! It must save so much space in the shop!
Absolutely beautiful! Great work Laura. Love the book matched panel.
sweet! thanks for noticing! there were a lot of "first times" in this build but the book matching was the most fun!
Great video and the door turned out fantastic, Laura.
cheers, steve!
As I'm starting to realize, your work, whatever it is is awesome...
:)
Hello. I am a restorer and dresser in Italy in Milan. Very beautiful your work. I love them.
Paul.:)
Very nice work Laura. That was fun to watch. Thank you!
cheers
Great video! Beautiful door! The close up shots of your black and blue thumb, all I could think was, "OOOOO OUCH!"
:)
Awesome project Laura. First door? Coulda fooled me. ;-). Your technique is excellent. You picked beautiful grain to use. Very well done. Troy
thanks troy! i love the bookmatched grain in the door inserts :)
Mesmerizing. Edifying. Gratifying.
Thanks for sharing...
cheers, man
I love how you embrace the process!
i love the process! :)
Amazing result. Love the finish on that walnut Laura!
thanks, briwax is super easy to work with and never fails on the result :)
+Laura Kampf Sadly nobody sells it here as far as I've searched. Thanks for the info Laura!
Laura I think I didn't blink during the whole video :D awesome work and editing. Beautiful build!
:) that might be the coolest compliment i heard so far! thanks man!
Awesome project!! Looks like something fun to do while considering what I want to build next.
Between the wonderful film shots, the editing...and that cool thumb injury, this video comes across as one of your better works. Door is impressive as is the audio. Liked the shirt! Well done. Well Done!!
thanks gary!
Beautiful workmanship.
thanks you

cool to have you here :)
Excellent work.I love the attention to detail.
thanks, brian!
Excellent work . love the attention to detail.
It might be tiny, but it's full of class! I can't decide which is better, the way you put the door together or the way you put the video together!
thanks for the great compliment!
Beautifully filmed, informative, entertaining, inspiring. It is always a treat to see one of your videos!
thanks! glad you enjoy my work!
very cool build! that door will last longer than us!! showed off some great skill in this one!
haha, you might be right...future spaceman will think we were crazy small because of that door :)
Thanks for the videos. Excellent music as well.
It's nice to see that lovely wood treated with great respect.
+John Creasey :)
your videos look very professional, still waiting for the pallet wood project. thanks for sharing.
ahhh, i am not a huge fan of pallet wood...but my turbo raft was partly build of a pallet :)
Very Nice work Laura. You did a nice job. Great joint work Thank you for sharing..
cheers

ah okay, i didn´t know that. i wanted them to mirror each others grain pattern horizontaly :) but good to know, thanks, philipe!
Awesome looking door, that much work on a tiny door, I can't imagine a regular size one.
+Making Stuff a regular sized door would almost take the same anount of work...only planing would take a little longer. but the joinery is the same :)
+Laura Kampf true true. But heavier haha
so solid! the detail is great. the shop looks so good!
thanks! my shop is my favorite place on earth
Congratulations, your works are always fantastic !!
thanks!

Oh you have some serious awesome tools in that shop. Nice work and great editing as always. You are so talented.
:)
Beautiful work and great job. Keep up
You've got me curious about where it will go... I'm hoping its for Smudo (I hope I spelled that right.) I love your jointer/planer. Every time I see it I drool just a little bit.
check out my vlog from yesterday...i talk about what this door is for in it

Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. Great work!
that is FANTASTIC! thanks, nick!
Amazing work and videography/editing. I especially loved how you left the dried blood on your hands..."A project isn't done until you've bled"
+Vizerei yeah those pull saws get ya quick!
gracias Laura por compartir tus conocimientos
Brilliant! Amazing camera shots. There is something hypnotically about your videos, love it ;-)
The cutting table from this video is very cool.
I was sitting waiting for the video to come out :) gave me an idea of how I want my kitchen cabinet doors that I will be someday when I get done doing everything else around my house.
always soooo much to be done, i know that feeling :)
Very nice build and some cool camera angles as well.
cheers! it´s getting harder and harder to find new interesting angles...but i am happy with this one, too
I really like your jointer plainer, such a awesome machine! Great video! I build custom wood doors for a living, so its cool to see it on a small scale, well done!
oh cool! great to get feedback from a pro! thanks. that jointer is a dream to work with!
Beautiful. That turned out great!
thanks you douglas!
That is some fine woodworking.

Great project. I really enjoyed the filming and editing aspect. Super cool
thanks, wayne!
beautiful work Laura, very impressive, great job :)

Aaahhh!!! I'm SO JEALOUS of all your skills!! :)
cool thing about making stuff is that you get better EVERYTIME you touch a tool...so rewarding!
Awesome work young lady/ keep it up!!!!!
will do, thanks, dennis
Tiny or not, its a great friggin door - nice joinery Laura.
:)
Wonderful job with wonderful wood ;D
Great video and music, thanks. Magnificent timber. (And I hope this is not considered trolling - if you use a steel screw the same size as the brass screws to cut the thread in the timber, the heads on the brass screws stay perfect)
tha is GREAT advice!!! thanks man!
So cool. Project idea - build rustic house modeled around door.
I've recently found your channel and my mild tool jealousy has just turned into full blown shop envy. You've got better taste in tools than anyone I've seen.
so cool, that is one of the best compliments ever! i am very specific about my tools and i love working with quality stuff!
thanks
love the door and the multi camera angles :)
thanks for appreciating the camerawork :)
very nice and crisp, amiga ! off to see the vlog part, curious...
:)
Very nice build and great editing on the video. Glad to be a subscriber!
thanks, michael! i am glad you subscribed, too!
Beautiful work! Always love your edits.
thanks, dan!
Discovered your channel after a mention from Simone Giertz. Beautiful work and beautifully produced videos. Keep up the awesome work :-)
+Scott S thanks, scott!
tiny door came out great! What's it for?
Running out of superlatives for your videos, awesome job!!
thanks, ali :)
another great job and BTW beautiful wood that you used.
yes! i LOVE walnut. it is so nice to work with! especially when you put the finish on and the grain pops
nice project.....You have a cool style, love your work ! :)
Awesome as always! It's nice to see someone actually using dowels for a change too. I've got a sneaky feeling it may be a little difficult to fit through that door though ;-)
haha, i would love to see someone try that :) dowels are super helpful for strong joints!
Sounds like it could be a good follow-up video.
Excellent video! The finished door came out really nicely. I really like the grain textures of the wood. Plus, how freakin' cool is that jointer / planer of yours?? A wood working Transformer! hehehe. I'd love to get my hands on one of those. As always, beautiful work!
that´s my friends jointer...he works in my shop from time to time and so i get to use this awesome maschien! i can only recommend it!
Another masterpiece, thanks for sharing
thank you!
Cool your shop, shame that here we of is practically impossible to have these equipment. Probably do not have and have are very expensive. Cool video.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
nothing is impossible. ask around, there will be cool tools available where you are!
Precioso trabajo, me encantan todos tus vídeos, tanto los trabajos como la edición y la música.
perdón por no escribirte en inglés.
Thinking that you would soon drink from the bottle on the table to shrink down small enough to walk through (much like Alice), but you did not. What you did do was build a really nicely made tiny door. Great job with all the accessories!
haha, i need a green screen!
Pretty cool, nice build!
thanks!
Amazing Laura . I'm a fan
Hey Laura, great video. Do you have a link to the musician's website please?
no, brian doesn´t release his tunes unfortunately. but check out his website - he is a fantastic illustrator, too!
www.storm-illustration.de/
Cool build, gnarly nail.
:)
Omg, the figure on that wood!
nice job! hard to believe it's your first door 👍👍
yeah, i was surprised too haha!
where will you install this small and marvelous door ?
Bin soeben auf deinen kanal gestoßen, bzw. dieses Video.... toller content
herrlich, schön, dass du meinen kanal gefunden hast christian!
Great video. And the door turned out beautiful. And looks super sturdy. I would like to ask about your thoughts on why you made the door like a cabinet door and not like a house door. I would guess you can use the gadget on any door or drawer with a little modification. Great job.
i though i built this like a tradtional house door-where is the difference?
The door itself was built like a traditional door until you added the rabbit for the hinges and then it stops on the outside of the frame, like a cabinet door. A door on a house fits into the frame and stops on the door jam.
I am not knocking your design. It looks great. I was just curious why you designed it more like a cabinet door and not like a house door.
Sorry for that confusion.
And I am assuming doors are the same around the world. I am going by what is in the USA.
+Laura Kampf I hope I didn't upset you with my comment. You did a great job with this project. It looks beautiful and teaches a lot.
no, you didn´t upset me :) the door needed to look as realistic as possible and i chose these hinges because they had the perfect proportional shape. it works and looks good-that´s all i wanted :)
what an amazing product you've made of youtube in such a short time.
