    I love that you showed your fix for the small gaps in the breadboards! Gives me hope for my less than perfect joinery. As always, keep up the great work

    Gorgeous, project - very well executed. Fantastic shots in the video - extremely well edited. Perfect music choice - fits the mood of the editing exactly. I think it's one of your best, if not the best, so far. I can't wait to see part 2.

      THANKS! that is great to hear! i am super happy with th edit as well-this might be one of my favorites too...which is funny because when i started editing this morning i thought i droped the ball on this one :) but to be honest i always think that until the video is finished haha

    When I saw those big beautiful slabs of maple I was sick with envy. It is going to be a magnificent table. The bowties were just the thing to add that little pop of contrast, Can't hardly wait for part two

    I think it's your artistry, music, and execution that has me so looking forward to your videos, oh of course your dog who's name I always forget, sorry because she'/he is adorable.     The top is looking fantastic Laura. I really like the bows for the split too. Cant wait to see the rest of the build. I love the track saw, they are a great tool to have and they are so versatile. Thanks for sharing!

    Loved the bow ties. Reminded me of stitches I had in my arm at one time. I still have the scars and people comment about them. They were once necessary and are now decorative. Such a good vibe in this video.

      +Laura Kampf yup, but don't forget the editing. As the music plays you can't pauze, delay, timeshift it. So therefore you need to search the right clips and time them right. If done right you get a video, just like yours!

    I agree with Frank Big L! That was a GREAT Story being told right there! The Base HAS to be Steel! For the contrast of the Two materials. Softness of the Wood offsets the cold rigidness of the Steel. It will show that You tamed both materials and brought them together as Art...that's Functional.... (In my humble opinion) Much Love Big L! Have A Super Week!..... Gus

    Wow! So much to like about this one. I really like the asymmetric bowties. The shape of them is cool and playful, but I especially like your decision to place them up in the corner of the table. It's a real nice highlight that contrasts well with the maple. Well done! The live edge breadboards turned out great too! Bring on part 2!! =)

    I love that you've made the crack in the top a feature, making tint stitches to hold it together! That's really really beautiful, makes the wood look even more alive and organic :D

    Laura, this video and part two served as inspiration for a maple nightstand a friend wanted me to make. I didn't do a build video, but I'll tag you when I post it to Instagram in a couple days. It's a birthday present so I had to build it on the sly and can't post it till I give it to him.
