i see your taking your time thinking safe as you go,if you have access to a steamer it would get rid of the swarfy oil on the subframe and suspension,perhaps the tool for restorers vlog on retired truckers garage may help.
Hi Shelley, Nice to see more work on your 2000E, if your stripping it all down take care removing the (springs) they are under a lot of tension, and can do a lot of damage if they slip, I remember seeing one on my Mk3 go flying across a garage work shop back in the 1980's when the mechanic was trying to take one off.
Thanks for the heads up. I have no idea how to disassemble the axle so that could have ended up being dangerous. I’ll do some research and get the right tools before I attempt it
Give it a go, just beware that the axle is blinkin heavy! I'm not even sure what poly bushes are yet lol. There's a lot to disassemble there now for proper cleaning and i guess painting or powder coating & replacement of the perishables

Nicely done, I was going to do this for the poly bushes but I don't have the bravery lol

@@ShelleysCortina have you seen the orange bushes on pete's films? They are a good replacement for the old rubber ones.
My front clip is filthy too lol.
