How do I find someone to supervise my RBT competency assessment,along with the required Background Check, and live technical support to assist with the BACB Application process?
Something that nobody explain when you become a RBT is that every time your client cancel you don’t get pay. I just recently got my license and already have three clients, so far I only seen two times one at home and on the second week he got sick so that week I haven’t seen him at all the following day, I went to see a new client at home same thing happen the mom didn’t know I was supposed to meet her kid on that day so another day canceled without getting paid. So you have to think very well if you decide to get this career, because the way I see it this is a very unstable job. There’s no benefits for the RBT

Hello! So on the BACB website you can search for BCBA’S in your area that conduct the assessment and yes you have to pay them for it. You can also look into agencies, some offer them for a better price that individual BCBA’S!

Can you take the RBT exam at home ? Due to Covid ? Also can you start working once you do your competency assessment with a bcba ?
Hi ! I do not think you can take it at home anymore it is back to taking the exa, at a center with an appointment. In order to be an RBT and be able to be assigned clients you need to complete all steps which means passing the board exam.
I worked in a center before I was an RBT. I think it depends on the location. The norm is to have your RBT before working with clients because it demonstrates competency and some insurances require it.

Hi ! It really depends on many factors such as your location, experience, agency, etc. but I would say for the most part yes !
I’m seeing that for the competency exam I need to pass at least one of the checks on the list with an actual client. How do I go about finding a client if I’m not cert yet?? What😩
