I appreciate that you let us know what Everlong sounds like on a gainy Überschall
Have the uberschall love it , paired with engl savage , but channel one -low gain one is awesome and uhhhh has 10x the gain my boogie MK V does!
It sounds like the combo of the two would make for a pretty versatile setup.
This might be the closest I'll ever come to affording a Bogner Uberschall 🙄
there was a guy locally selling an ubershall twin jet used for 2500 CDN. I'm kicking myself for not buying it
That demo song sounded so much like dragged under I wanna hear Tony screaming over the top of it right now!
I've got the SYN1 with 3 modules already. If I was more of a lead guy I'd get the Vai module, but I can already tell I'd have a hard time deciding which one of these Bogners to get. I might just wait till the ENGL Powerball module comes out and get that one...
"Today on Rasputin's in beer"
I always thought it sounded like he was saying "Rasputins Gear," 😂 who the fuck is Rasputin? Why dont you use your own gear once in a while? For once let's hear "Today on Fluffs Gear," 😂!
featuring a type-writer on drums
Lamb of God's album "Sacrament" featured a sampled typewriter blended in with the kick to get that extra 'high end' kick click ;)
What kind of Music Man is that towards the beginning of the video?
My subtitles read this: today on Rasputin's gear :-)
Bogner is the best... before endorsements, Steve Vai, and Eddie Van Halen PAID for these amps !
So did they for Soldano Amps.
But yeah, they are somewhat nice :)
Dust Rider I LOOOOVE my Soldano Hot Rod 🤤
Hey Fluff! Awesome video as usual. Very informative.
One question: what’s that keyboard you are using with the mac? I’m looking for a similar with backlit and low profile keys. Please let me know.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Been interested is using these with my Axe Fx 3 for a while. If you are running direct with no cabs, is a power amp required to make these sound "right"?
I had a Randall RM100 for almost 14 years and my main complaint about them is how stiff they feel even with the supposed blobby sound of the Recto module. When these came out, I was thinking of getting a Yuneo mod so I can buy the Bogner Uber and Friedman HBE modules. But then I do not know if they can replicate the spongy and saggy feel of the real amps. Legato runs can tell the story. I hope one day I can do a side by side demo with folks with the real amps once I get my RM100 Yuneo'd.
Would love to know your thoughts on the vai module after this review
Ironically Vai's signature amo which i used to own, was based also on a bogner
Hey Fluff, do you run that SYN-5050 in 100 watt bridged mode? Also, do you perhaps hook the SYN-2 up to say a Helix or similar and if so, could you explain the setup of that? What's the volume knob on the SYN-2 for, a master? Thanks man, always love your stuff!
Sounds great. Is that the sag I'm hearing or is the mic compressing?
Damn these are great. Randall didn't know what they were getting rid of. One mans trash I suppose.
J Cat I was so bummed the Randall stuff didn’t stick around. They got rid of it before I could afford it. I’m really excited about this though.
@@cmkimbrell67 I've seen the mts stuff and modules on reverb for dirt cheap!
Randall RM100? Is that the one?
@@frayedsanity Yea The Randall Rm100 Head.
I have an RM100 and RM50. I actually just brought them out of storage this weekend. Picked up a Mesa recto 2x12 slant cab and I’m really loving the sounds. I’m thinking about getting this Bogner module. The old Randall modules are fun to mod too if you have the capabilities to mess with them yourself. I modded a plexi module with push pull gain and treble boost. Sounds awesome if I do say so myself! Lol Such a great idea, are these amps and modules!
I've been waiting on Synergy to drop these... might have to place an order now haha
Thanks for doing this. They do sound great.
I'm curious about the playing style. I've seen others do this as well where no chords are formed and one finger basically bars 2 or 3 strings up and down the board. What's going on, is it an open tuning? Is there no desire for actual chords and the nuances of them over the basic root tone?
Not being critical, just figured here was as good a place as any to ask
Thanks again
He plays in a "drop tuning" where the thickest string is lowered in tuning so power chords are easier to form and allows for different kind of chords with freed up fingers. Used most often in heavier genres!
Is that for studio/recording applications or can you use it in a live setting? I assume you need some kind of power amp to push it thru speakers?
Ian DeLoach Synergy sells a “head” with power amp in it that you can place these preamps into... think game cartridges into a Nintendo .
not only a head but they're rack mountable, but you'd have to use your own power amp you're correct
@@hardrockrelics2157 Except you don't have to blow into these to get them to work. It's probably advisable to not do that actually. :)
sounds like Blackstar amps ;-)
Idk...
From what I have heard so far, the uber doesn't deliver what I expect from it.
Could be, that the presence control on those beasts is just one huge contributor to the sound of those machines. And that works in the poweramp, with inductors and stuff... so, no.
It's a lot more than that. 1) all the modules only have 2 preamp tubes. This is the biggest reason all the modules have this weird grainy character. The sound is dull sounding in every single module. 2) of course the poweramp being totally different to whatever head is being emulated makes a huge difference.
Oh hell yeah!
Your awesome man!!
Man that is so compressed. Run a compressor pedal into the front input and also use a compressor on the miked cabinet and a guitar loaded with a set of EMG 85 & 81 active pickups and you have the same density as a black hole, lol
lol, image of the the recording: ██████████████████
I hope they work with the Randall modular system. I have those amps.
God & Guns they do, there's a switch on the back
Don’t those Randalls explode?
Sweet. Mine never exploded by the way. I have a 50 watt and 100 watt version. Maybe I’ll look into a few of these
Is Synergy the same guy that did the same kind of idea with Randall years ago?
@@lyricbread I figured it was the same thing. Thanks for the info.
The guy from Ampete is the lead engineer on the synergy stuff. His Ampete One head is extraordinary through the virtual reality I have experienced. Fluff does a great review of that head here on his channel. Couple Bogner and him together it appears quite divine.
The Bogner Helios 100/30 Watt head I have is nothing short of extraordinary. Love Bogner's work.
Different guy. Synergy actually collaborates with the various amp makers. Bruce Egnator did his original modules on his own. Bogner worked on the Bogner modules, Friedman on his, ect. The old Egnater and Randall modules WILL work in this system, from what I hear. All the new synergy modules are 2 channels each though, the old egnater/randall are one channel each.
🤘🏻
dayum....
If you want I can ask Alan Ashby about his boner ecstacy settings and you can do an of mice & men tone video
Yeet
I ordered a “custom” Uberschall through Sweetwater for $2600.
At first sight I read Synergy Amps "Boomer Modules".
I'm getting old, for sure. Should use my googles more often.
Ah, and get the fuck off my lawn!
Not buying it. My 1st version Uberschall and rev 2 are face melting machines.
