    I 100% agree, I hated the Vaporfly next 2% because it was so squishy and it felt like I had no control over my running. On the other hand, I loved the magic speed from asics which surprised myself. I’m hoping my deviate nitro 2s will provide a similar, firmer and more balanced experience like a metaracer or a magic speed

    Intriguing. I love the Deviate Nitro 2 for all kinds of runs and this looks like a lighter, sleeker, and faster version of it. After putting in so many miles in max-cushioned "modern" shoes, it's refreshing to run in something lower with the "old school" feel. I have too many shoes right now to add another one but I'll definitely have to consider this later in the year - hopefully amongst more colorway options.

    I had to smile when you got to the point that you mentioned the NB FuelCell Rebel v3 as a companion shoe to the Deviate Nitro Elite 2 because, as I was watching you describe and show the Deviate Nitro Elite 2, it struck me how similar it is to the FuelCell Rebel, which is my current daily trainer. I currently have three pairs of Rebel v3 that I rotate, with a pair of Rebel v1's that I save for up tempo runs, but it sounds as if the Deviate Nitro Elite 2 would be similar, except with more "pop."

    @edwinduisburg8138 Год назад +7

    I found version 1 exciting to run in and a pretty good combination with Takumi Sen 8 for my speed works. But I was hoping they would remove some excess foam just because it was getting in the way during speed sessions. Also, I think they changed the shape of the plate as well. That is way too much unnecessary change from one iteration to another, not to mention unexpected weight gain.

  • @TolunayOrkun
    @TolunayOrkun Год назад +1

    PUMA Changed the plate from a forked one in the forefoot to a non-forked one and apparently that is working better for you. Probably some of the weight gain is due to fuller plate. Outsole rubber is also different in this version. Eddbud also liked this version a lot. I just got v1 for less than $100+tax. I have more shoes than I can run at the moment. I will wait for this version available at discount at the end of the year.

    I subscribe to the less is as much as I need. I run every run on all terrain in the Ultra Glides for winter on ice, snow and frozen asphalt. I have transitioned to a forefoot runner and no longer require a max heel stack to drag around needlessly. I believe that my form of lazy heel striking led to injuries. I invested in the book Born to Run 2 and put in the work. These shoes are expensive and aren’t really helpful IMHO.

    I’m a pro jumper, do you think this elite 2 would be a better pick compared to the DN2? I’m looking for a very dynamic shoe for jump session, to transition from normal trainers before wearing spikes as I’ve had Achilles problems for a long time, so I am looking for the closest thing to spikes but a bit softer (so I guess carbon plate is a good choice as it stiffens the shoes). Now I wonder if I wouldn’t destroy the elite as we put a lot of force on the ground (compared to basic tempo or even pure sprint). Anyway love your videos!

    8:01 Random question. Years ago when i was a youngster i did 1 hour on a treadmill at Superman fast constant speed. And the next 3 days i could not stand up or walk. My knees where like cemented or frozen stiff and excruciating pain if i tried to stand up. So i was literally in bed for 3 days. Then it got better and i vowed NEVER to run at Superman Olympic time fast speeds ever again, And vowed to in general never run on a treadmill at any running speeds. To this day i just walk on treadmills at the fastest pace i can, and get make up with higher incline to get heart rate up to running speeds. But does anyone know or heard of had that happen to you? And if its a thing, is there a trick or vitamin or anything to allow one to run at there ultimate fastest speed humanly possible for 1 hour straight and this knee broken for 3 days doesn't happen?

    the toebox from the elite 1 is just painful if one has a bit wider feet. so you say this is corrected or improved i did not have the pain on the outside but rather the inside next to the big toe. If i look at the size comparison at 13:17 the elite 2 does not look any wider than the elite 1. It is a real pity. I like this shoe a lot otherwise. Maybe it helps if i go up a size i usually have.
