- This video is our last installment in the Conversion barrel series and it is a popular option! Versatility in what ammo you can shoot is one of the coolest and most efficient things about a Glock handgun.
Let's start a conversation in the comments! I read every single comment!
Thanks for watching!

If only shot show 2024 showed 10mm this much love.
10mm is definitely the new meta we are just ahead of the curve. Shot show and the industry will finally catch up in 2027 lol
@@SgtNateHigers-BPD 🤣 I guess I have enough guns for now then. I'll save my money for 2027.
shooting 10mm ammo out of a .45ACP Glock via a conversion barrel is definitely appealing
If only this was the case for a standard 1911 :(
450 Rowland is even more appealing. No need to buy extra mags. Just a spring for $8.00. And you really don't need to unless your life depends on it.
Thanks Mr Lenny, great content as always!!
....you were the only source for one of these when Ivwas looking for one..bought it last year..thank you..
Outstanding video as always!
This guy gives a great presentation. Probably one of the best gun videos on any gun topic.
Thank you Lenny. No one will ever top you when it comes to Glocks! 🙏🏼
I think you meant Kinetic Energy- KE=1/2 mass X Velocity squared. E=MC squared is energy conversion (Einstein)- mass and energy are the same physical entity and can be changed into each other. . 'C' is the speed of light. In the equation, the increased relativistic mass (m) of a body times the speed of light squared (C squared) is equal to the kinetic energy (E) of that body. A little technical, but just to be clear. Great videos and thanks.
Thank you for this. I wanted to say it, but I’m old and suck at typing.
@@chrisgualtieri Thank you for the reply. I'm old but just ok at typing. lol
Possibly could have used F=ma to explain the stopping power too but we can geek out later
I think the rest of us get his point….
nice!!!! thanks for spelling out exactly what my 460 rowland 10mm crusher does! and my guerilla loads for my 454 casuall😁
Interesting. Thanks for this great review.
That is so cool you change your Glock barrel to different calibers
I bought a regular length 10mm conversion barrel from the Glock store and it works great.
Just for fun I also bought a six inch 10mm barrel. I change the extractor and recoil spring. Lots of speed. The 60 grain underwood was 2550 fps on my chronometer.
Excellent. I’m getting one, along with a few 10mm magazines. (I think you meant to say “F=MxA”, but Albert Einstein is always worthy of a quote! 🤣)
What's needed is a drop-in barrel in 30 Super Carry. You can even use the same magazine as the 9mm. That way people can swap out their 9mm barrels and try out the 30 Super Carry to see if they'll like it. Then you can switch back and forth.
From what I have read 30 super carry is 0.073 inches longer than the 9 mm case length.
Also 30 Super Carry's bullet diameter is 0.042 inches narrower than the 9 mm bullet diameter.
So I am not sure if that would work magazine wise and with the extraction and the round entering battery.
And the there is the average pressure rating for this cartridge is 52,000 psi which is much more than the 9mm average pressure rating of 35,000 PSI.
Glock 17/19 max pressure rating is 43,500 psi so it just might blow up your pistol so dont do it.
You know I have nothing but respect for you Lenny and what you're doing for Glock since they refuse to change to keep up with the modern times. I am a Glock 17 only fan boy to be honest so much so I picked up a G47 and a G45 because they are close to the G17.😎
I also love the G 21 in 45 caliber. Perfect fighting handgun.
@@stevenlefebvre2991 Absolutely. Superior to 9mm. Just facts.
I got the 40S&W conversion barrel for my G20 so that I can shoot cheaper at the range. It was a perfect solution and I can still swap quickly back to the factory stock 10mm barrel and ammo as needed. It has become one of my surprising favorites.
I ran 40s out of my Glock 29 for a while.. 10mm parts n everything, I was told you could
@@robertneal3364 this way I also preserve my 10mm guts for when I really need them. 40 SW is a shorter cartridge but the same diameter. I don't know if that difference would eventually cause issues or unexpected incongruities or not...especially at the number of rounds I run. I wasn't sure so I played it safe.
@robertneal3364 you can. I've put more 40sw through my glock 20 than 10mm. After putting about 200 rounds of 40sw through it I cleaned it then a bunch of the super hot bear loads through it, no problems at all.
@@brett9382 see, it’s all a marketing maneuver
@@brett9382 Interesting. Same magazine for both .40 & 10?
Nice conversion
is there a barrel avail to do this conversion with a 30S model? also which 10mm mag for the 30S?? also you SHOULD put direct links to video items, this is just a plus for the prospective customer??? 🤠
I ordered one from the Glockstore for my Glock 30SF. I didn’t change the extractor and it works great. I wish I’d had a chance to go the store when they were in San Diego. I missed out. LOL
You change recoil spring? How many shots did you fire through it in 10mm so far?
@@brettsiciliano2037I kept the same spring
SWEET, GOING TO ORDER ONE AS SOON AS I FINISH THIS VIDEO 😁
I got a 9x25dillon lone wolf alpha wolf nitrided barrel w/built in compensator (it extends about 1/2” or less from the slide) for my G29, I love it! And don’t even need extra mags since they 10MM is the parent case of 9x25D, it’s a 10MM case necked down to take a 9MM projectile but still with basically 10MM amount of powder, makes a 9MM almost go rifle velocity, 1800-2000 fps+ for the hottest loads 🔥
i remember when sig USED to sell factory xchange kits, cool to see aftermarket companies making stuff like this
This dude is a Legend.
I know it was a business decision, But we miss you in San Diego !
Without having to read every comment... There is no difference in the recoil springs between .45 and 10mm? Same question for case head dimensions concerning extractor operation? Does this create any reliability issues considering this would be protection from dangerous game?
Great teacher!
I’ve been going back and forth on getting this barrel for my 21
I wouldn't. The slide isnt gonna hold the case the same. You can do this with a 40 but a 45 is wider making it have less purchase on that case. For shooting around at the range isnt an issue but trusting it with your life? No, its why we have glocks. We dont want any chances
@@michaelatkin9649 You are 100% correct thank you for explaining it so well.
@@stevenlefebvre2991 The slide doesn't hold the case, does it? Is he thinking about the extractor, if it's a worry, install a 10mm extractor?
I have one, It works just fine, but I would agree with the first commenter- I wouldn’t trust my life with this until I had a significant amount of hands on time to build the confidence in it. I don’t carry my Glock 21 so it’s not as much an issue for me, I just like to have 10mm as an option for more and different bangs.
Second point: you don’t LOSE anything by buying this. You can easily swap back and forth.
So you don’t have to change anything else just drop in the barrel?
I have one of these in a Gen 4. It works great. I went the extra mile and also picked up a tungsten guide rod to handle the extra energy.
No new extractor still good?
I just bought this conversion barrel. Does it require the heavier duty guide rod? Lenny leaves the regular glock 21 rod in.
@@brianlozano8791 can you test it and let me know if you need a new extractor
@J4kidsgaming Lenny sent me the barrel & a letter explaining that the glock 21 extractor works but was not consistently reliable and ejection was not optimal when tested. Lenny apologized for the delay on my order and included a free 10mm extractor. So yes the 10mm extractor is needed for reliability and ejection purposes. In the letter he explained all future 10mm conversions will be required to purchase the new extractor.
@@brianlozano8791 blessss ty you think the spring is ok like you were saying cause its slinging a 45 big spring already maybe
How much for the Chrome barrel in 10mm and 10-round magazine from glock 30 to 10mm? And can you ship the california? Thx.
If you are going to sell a conversion barrel for certain calibers, wouldn't it be a good idea to stock both .45 and 10mm gen5 as well as older magazines for it?
Congratulations from Brazil
Does the extractor work correctly? The base diameters are different, 0.425 vs 0.480.
Do you need to change the recoil spring? It's hard to fathom it is that easy, just a barrel swap? How is the reliability?
Great video. do they have a 10mm barrel for the G 36 single stack. that would give me GLOCK SINGLE STACK 10mm that would be awesome !!
I have a Glock 21 gen 3 and purchased this Barrel about 2 years ago. With the conversion, barrel, The gun would never eject rounds (10mm) properly. Was told by GlockStore Representatives that he barrelI needed to be broken in and to keep shooting rounds through it. After about 400 rounds through the conversion (10mm), barrel. I still had the same issues. At this point I decided to return the barrel. I so wanted this to work properly. Hopefully, people will have better luck than I did with it.
ya i think the extractor needs to be changed to 😅
@@mr.two4977. You are correct the extractor is a problem but there is also a problem there is no material on the other side of the slide where the head of the Shell case is supposed to rest to support against the opposite side of the extractor. You will never get proper extraction out of this gun with this set up. Don’t waste your money just get a proper 10 mm gun.
Thanks for sharing this!
Buy a complete 20 slide. The frame is the same
400 rounds of 10mm and the Barrel? I say buy a 20 instead, own both and call it a day
I bought the conversion barrel for my gen 3 21SF and the mag. It unfortunately jams after every single round shot. I spoke with the staff and they said it should be perfect. I've tried different ammo and the same problem. After researching more, I should've been advised to get a different extractor and guide rod spring around 20-22lb. Because of the velocity and grain difference, shouldn't I go to a heavier spring and extractor?
Using the same conversation logic, do you also produce a .45 to Sig .357 round? I appreciate the Glock conversation capability in these pistols.
The 10mm does not require a heavier recoil spring?? Please address this for the benefit of others who may be wondering the same thing. ….,Also, no performance issues with either the extractor or ejector that were optimized for the .45 acp cartridge?? Thanks in advance for your reply
That’s what I was wondering is if I get the g30 gen 5 and get the 10mm conversion barrel for it would I have to change the extracter/ejector or the recoil spring for the 10mm or even if I don’t have to could I and would it be better or worse and not work ? 🤔
@blaineb23 ive seen different things. I've seen someone only swap the extractor and ive seen someone just slap the barrel in.
It’s does you’ll need a 22lb
I wonder if the recoil spring will need to be changed this being a hotter cartridge ?
So you can't put a different follower in a glock big stick mag. To shoot a different caliber?
How reliable is it for self defense?
I’ve never had "perfect" reliability with a converted Glock.
I have a G20 and want to get it customized but there are so many options. I need some direction to help decide what I should get done to it, and also to decide the best place to send it for customization. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Can you do similar with G-30 Gen-4?
Many thanks for the great videos...
looks like you can when you go to the store
An even better conversion is my 40 SUPER barrel in my Glock2, absolute perfection.
Isn't 10mm more powerful than 45 super?
@@charlesleggett2546 not the underwood 135 grain extreme defender 45 super rounds, my chronograph says what the box says 1,600 f.p.s. spot on. bigger bullet going faster then the 10mm, so much better and the same recoil, as the 10mm with those rounds
@@2nd_comingunderwood also has loadings of 10mm that are 135gr and 1600fps lol
Will the 10mm conversion fit the Glock 30SF? Or just 5he G21?
Question: have the G21 and have watched several videos on RUclips with guys insisting a new recoil spring and extractor are needed for the 10mm conversion. Your thoughts, please?
Are 10mm glocks not blowing up I rather get a 2011 in .45 thanks you very much
What 10 rnd 10mm magazine do I need to order for my gen 4 Glock 21 to do this? I'm in NY State and need a 10 rnd
My Glock 21 got this conversion barrel and two magazines for Christmas!
How’s it working out? Any issues? I’ve read a lot about people having ftf and fte issues
@@jondoe8641 I haven't shot it yet. My son's finally taking a vacation so we're going to go try it out next week. No fun going alone, and safety in numbers.
@@Ken-jc6rv sounds like fun. Lemme kno how it goes
@@Ken-jc6rvany malfunctions?
@@brandenhylton8272 The Glock 21 was still a virgin so we shot around 50-60 rounds of 45 1st. I then switched to the 10mm conversion barrel and put in a 20lb stainless steel guide rod spring. It would fire 5 rounds flawlessly, then fail to feed on the 6 and beyond? It would do this with a 20lb and 17lb guide rod spring, but the 17lb was a little less prone to the failure to feed. At this time I'm leaning toward ordering some extra power magazine springs as it sounds like the most logical place to start. The rounds looked to be hanging slightly on the bottom of the load ramp. Luckily I won't be heading to bear country anytime soon....lol
Your a bit confused on the physics. E=mc2 is the equation to determine how much energy a object is equal to (E is energy, M is mass , and C is the speed of light squared. So by that calculation, the .45 has more energy than the 10mm, the equation you were thinking is the one for force. F= M * A where the bullets force is equal to its mass (weight) x its acceleration (change in velocity) . in that case , the 10mm has more Force
Kinetic energy is normally 1/2 mass times velocity squared if I recall correctly. The 10mm vs the .45 ACP gives the energy edge to the 10mm. I have not done it, but I think also for force the 10mm will be greater, greater but I have not seen the calculations.
@@loquat44-40 watch kentucky ballistics,
Can anyone attest to the reliability of shooting this conversion? I've been thinking about getting the barrel over another upper as the cost is less than half. I'd love to have my g30 in 10mm for camping.
Do you make this barrel for the G36
A good product. Make a 45ACP more versatile. Thank.
Do you need to change extractor
You have the gen 5 barrels available, I ordered parts and they said they were not available yet ?
Soooo, can you also shoot 40 SW with the same setup like you can with a glock 20?
So no need to replace the spring on the guide rod to compensate for the more powerful 10mm round? Great video.
You have a great question you sure would think so for the added pressure and velocity you would not want to see the slide beat itself to death.
Lenny, I'd buy a threaded conversion barrel if you'd get DD to make one! Plus, would it be more reliable to replace the extractor with one made for a 10mm? Thanks!
Lone Wolf Arms 🐺 for unknown reasons does not offer new extractor parts for larger 41 size guns. 🤔
What about a 10mm to 45? I’ve got the G40 10mm do they have a conversion
I know the website says it fits gen 1-4 but is there a gen 5 option
Paul Harrel did a video on the 45 vs the 10 mm. At the end of the video i believed he compared the 2 with just fmj's. He was shocked and so was i that the 230 grn 45 acp in fmj had deeper penetration then the 10m. Thought about converting my gen 5 g21 to a 10m until i saw Paul Harrels video.
I haven't seen the video you refer to, did he make sure he was using full power 10mm and not the "10mm FBI" loading? many 10mm offerings out there are the lower powered 10mm FBI that basically became .40 S&W when S&W who was developing the lower power round for the FBI realized they could shorten the case and fit it in 9mm size guns.
Did he use 45acp? How about +P? 45super? 450SMC? 460Roland?
He was using garbage range ammo. With quality ammo, there's no comparison.
@@bobbyblair6862 exactly. Underwood 255gr hardcast going 1100fps would have dominated.
10mm is underloaded by most manufacturers, Underwood and Buffalo-Bore do it right, super hot stuff.
I would definitely consider one of these, however your website states this only fits gen 1-4. Does it also fit gen 5 G21s?
That's what I would like to know also
Can you do the same thing with a 30sf?
Do you make one for the glock 30 and 36? I would buy it ASAP
I have a Glock 41 MOS. Can I reliably shoot 10mm out of this gun too?
What about a new extractor or recoil spring??
Exactly. Everything I have read so far basically says you need to upgrade the recoil spring assembly. Good catch!!
But the factory guide rod is defective when compared to the tungstenguide rod!
Is there a list of which ones convert to what?
Is there a set to change the size from 9mm to 10mm?
Does this mean you can shoot .40 as well with this conversion?
does glock have a 10mm conversion for a glock 29 ?
How about a 357 SIG conversion barrel for the G19! I know the 22/23 is better suited, but there's a whole lot more 19's than 22/23's.
Cool. Can one convert their g29 in 10mm to 45acp?
Do you make a 10mm barrel and mag for a Glock 36?
Please advise.
Thanks
Paul
No.
Can I do a g29sf to g30 slide swap and shoot 45?
I carry the glock 20 gen 5
Can this also be done with a G-30?
The 10mm slide is pretty chunky compared to a 45acp, don't know if that's for recoil or the stronger 10mm round, don't know if I'd do this.
I bought it and I had FTF stove piped
Can you do the conversion on a Glock 30S?
The 10mm conversion might also be a sweeter shooter with the extra barrel weight out front.
Definitely heavier and extended barrels. Make softer shooters.
I know the recoil spring is the same. I've heard it's necessary to change the 45 extractor to a 10mm extractor. Is that correct? I found this video looking for that answer.
I need to know the same
Any extraction issues with the barrel conversion from 45 to 10mm?
I always wonder w it’s theses convention
After two separate bad experiences with 9 mm lone wolf conversion barrels in glocks 33s and glock 22s, I would not trust my life to such a gizmo. This was with OEM 40 cal ejectors.
So no replacement of guid rod ?
So, Lenny … this conversion will work with the Glock 41, using the 10mm barrel to Glock 41 ?
Be aware IF you add Cerakote or a after market surface coating: gen 4 Glock 41 you might have some minor wear-marks from the 2 slide wt reduced sections. I saw that on my new KKM .45acp barrel & my OEM Glock 41. This is cosmetic only, the pistol still cycles-feeds 💯. The barrels may need 150-250 factory .45acp rounds to smooth, break in. My used, re-fit Glock gen 4 41 pistol is about 16mo old. Cerakote Elite slide; midnight.
We need Gsx100 back in stock‼️
Is there a conversion for a g41?
nice conversion kit, but id rather stick too 45 super and 460 rowland, just as fast as 10mm if not faster, plus a bigger bullet and a bigger hole, its a no brainer, its the recoil junkie in me all day every day alpha sigma 😁
will this fit the G30 gen 5 ?
Do you have that for the G30S?
Will I need a new extractor
I have a 20 year old g 30 is this still capable of the switch to 10mm??? Thanks in advance
I was about to ask the same questiion. My G30 is about 30 years old. Please let me know if you find the answer.
Please make a 21L version of this. Preferably threaded.
So you don't need a different extractor or recoil spring?
my thoughts exactly
lmk when I can get one for my G19
Will this work with a glock model 30 4th generation
Turning my 45 to 10 mm
Ide like to know myself it's bullshit I keep asking that but no dam responce it's total bad advertising and communication on Lenny because it should all be written down stating what actual GLOCKS it will work in and it's not.
My G21 is gen 2. Will this still work? You only mentioned gen 3 and newer.
Yes it should work. Gen 1-4 only per their web site.
Do you have Glock 20 mags
I have a G30S .
How about 9mm conversion for the 21
So can you shoot .45 from a Glock 20?
