As someone who went from an R40 to an R80, I would put some thought into it. If you are unsure if you will have enough space with the R40, consider getting the Stinger 22 option instead of the Stinger 8 tail bag. With the R40 Stinger and 22 I could easily fill up all my camping gear. I went with the R80 to do some longer term travelling, but the R80 is just a bit big and bulky for long weekend trips. I wind up taking off the top bag altogether, but the R80 bags still stick out sideways pretty far. My Reckless10 and a 30 litre backpack is far better for weekend trips for me.
This is the kind of info i was looking for. Thx for the advice, i am looking forward to getting a r40v4 pretty soon. I have a 30L drybag which could go in place of the stinger 8, more space and saves me a bit of money. Safe travel friend =)
I just received my R40 in Woodland. First glimpse, unreal product of quality and design. I see what you mean with the straps near boots loosening. Other than that, I couldn't not invision any other faults that'd disturb me. Great review!
I got this bags too, found out they rub on a painted body panel. No big deal. I plan to get two unpainted ones from the replacement warehouse and mount them for the tour. The parts are totally covered by the bags anyway
I’ve been looking at these. The back end of my bike (Husqvarna FE350) is notoriously weak so I may need to still investigate structural help. Thanks for the review > good tip on the plastics.
@@HenryCrew35I received an excellent customer service reply from Mosko today that answered my question and even included some photos of their own bikes. Essentially, the fit will be fine with a few minor mods. I sent them this bit of feedback, because customer service like that needs to be appreciated. "Thank you very much Fernando - that is probably the best customer service response email that I have ever received! Answered my query very personally and comprehensively. I'll be ordering. Thank you,"
Almost certain the 40 or 80 will fit, Mosko are super helpful, if you send them an email they’ll confirm for you and should be able to send you images or advice on how to get the best fit
Depends on the bike really as you can mount it on the rear fender rather than back seat of some motorcycles. Even if you have it mounted on the back seat if you don’t use the top bag I think you can still take a passenger.
I love my 80 but I'm not a fan of the clear window. They are a weak spot and some of my harder camping gear wore through with vibration over a couple of days riding. You learn the hard way but I'd rather a no window system because of this.
Ah that’s annoying! I’ve not had that issue after multiple week long trips with the 40 but I will be careful going forward! The new dry bags also have a different size buckle so replacing the bags could be a pain if using old harness with new dry bags.
Best review of the mosko moto mate, you just sold me
I didn't realize I had made it in life till you said who has that kind of money to have both the 40 and 80.

To protect the plastics use 3M Clear Bra tape. Loved the video, proper review including a good thrashing.

I would shoot the Mosko team a message, they seem to use a few husky bikes and may have some answers for you. Glad the video was useful!
@@HenryCrew35 thanks Henry - will do. May save me a few quid in structural support!

Perfect!
Thanks for the video, very informative and has helped me decide to buy one.
Hi Henry! Do you think it will fit good on tiger 900 rally?

once the recklews 40 l v3 is installed, is it possible to take one more person on your motorcycle?

hi you thing it will be hard to put gas on a 701 husqavarna
No I’ve seen them used on 701’s and many other bikes, the harness is adjustable.
Just bought one for my 701. with the nomad tank bag it was €1200 delivered 😢
Whaaaaat! That’s insane 👀

Super advice
Me: "Hey let's go up this trail"
My buddy: "umm that's a goat train"
Me: "Yea, let's see where it goes"
Gotta love adventure riding🤣🤣🤣
Superb video
Maybe their name isn't best placed at the moment... :(
Their name came from Mosquito. Nothing to do with Russia.
