I'm on a quest to get ALL the Remasterworks in the program, so I'm definitely picking this one up! Can't wait to read these phenomenal classic stories!
The masterwork that I have in my collection is the one from 2003, so the difference is huge! I definitely replace these 2003’s with the new ones, even my FF omni is the first one. Could have done without the reprint covers in the extras, but ok. Expect this one on Friday in my mailbox. Thanks for the overview Omar, much appreciated!!
Super happy about these remasterworks. I think you skipped over Stan's initial typewritten synopsis for the FF but I am super curious if those original typewritten pages are actually in someone's collection.
I love the omnibus and masterworks formats, though I do doubledip into epics for the superior mapping. And I will still be doubledepping for the early Marvel Masterworks. I am really looking forward to The Incredible Hulk MMWs, the DM covers, particularly volumes 1 through 3, which I am missing. I am especially waiting for the DM of Incredible Hulk volume 7.
I have my copy of the very first edition of this. I bought the first three masterworks which I think were this, Spider-Man and X Men. They were amazing. However, I now prefer Omnibus Editions because they have more comics and because they have the original letters pages. That really makes you feel like you are reading the comics as they came out. It would be even better if they also added the Bullpen Bulletin pages and the original house ads.

Mmmm. Some odd colours and production choices in this one. 6:21 Ben Grimm is red when he crushes through the streets. 6:46 the curtain behind Mr. Fantastic stops abrubtly. These are all better - or do I say more consistent - in my second printing Omni. Ben Grimm in yellow/orange and the curtain goes all the way to the floor. Just to name a few. There are more of these....

Definitely agree with the commentary on the Puppet Master. I feel like he'd make a pretty creepy villain in a FF movie.

Nice. Hey I own that fantastic firsts trade and found its a good way to try the first issues of older comics to see what I like🙂

Are they ever going to bring back the tpb Marvel Masterworks line that had those Dean White painted covers on them?

I also hate how they tend to always make the colors look too garish than what they were. And in general they tend to overcorrect it.
So, I assume this new line will replace the actual masterworks, am I right?
New masterworks will continue. This is just a reprint line.
