Well done, sir - aesthetically with the can on the end, that's one of the coolest looking .308 SBRs I've ever seen. I was torn between this build and an M110K7, but since I already have the SR25 lower, makes the most sense to go that route - one day I'd love to do the 417 Assaulter. And for what it's worth, that sounded pretty decent for a shorty .308 suppressed.
I have several Rotex (unrestricted sale in my country, France) for my 223 and my 300-308, With some grouping problem in 308 (no real idea why) But one of my friend in French commando marine lost an rotex on Africa... One of the locking screws broken... And the reducer blew during a shot ahah. So, caution with this and check the tightness of the screws.

Kind of off topic but if you had to choose between the RBS 5.56 B&T can full size, the 2" original or the newer 3d printed SRBS (slimline reduced backpressure) which would you go with and why? This would go on a mk18 and a ddm4v7 16". Tks!
Those rotex has the rachet teeth which the clone correct ones dont. These are also 3d printed which visually looks different. But it’s the only one you can get. Rotex iii in 762 is in very limited availability before the new 3d printed v compact and iii
Why didn't you buy a HK MR762 and do a barrel swap to a 12" barrel? I stumbled upon this as I kinda want to do this with a 12" 8.6 Blackout barrel but not sure if the propriety gas block will prevent it from working supressed or not.
@@InferiorRifles Pardon my ignorance, I didn't know you were focusing on accuracy when doing the build. I just found your channel and thought you just wanted a short MR762 like the assaulter. I found this video series because I was thinking about converting an MR762 with a Faxon 12" 8.6 Blackout barrel and was looking to see if anyone had done something similar.
Seeing as how you cut down a longer barrel, wouldn't it have a smaller gas port? If you can't get the adjustable GB, could you just open up a vent port for excess bleed off?
I had to open the gas port to 2mm (which is HK spec for the 12’’ assaulter barrel) to get reliable function unsuppressed. There is a “vent” on the front of the gas block to bleed off excess pressure in the gas system, but unfortunately opening that won’t do much for the gas coming back through the bore (which is the majority of blowback gases on a piston gun).
@@InferiorRifles oh ok, so you did open it up. I know the vent helps bleed off but wasn't sure if a slightly larger vent would tame it down. I built a 10.4 416 upper to run suppressed only. It has a 14.5 gas port and I put a 14.5 vented GB on it. It will not cycle without a can but with the can it's 100% and sexy smooth..
@@bobvagene yeah opening the vent will slow down the carrier speed (which is definitely a good thing) but I don’t believe it’ll do much for the excess gas coming back through the bore. It might help slightly, since the bolt will take longer to unlock but I think the gas blowback is just an unfortunate reality of having a suppressed 308 SBR lol

Well done video! However, IMO the only and correct suppressor for the HK417 Assaulter is the old school SureFire FA762K.

I have a rotex v for my '416 at home' build. It's pretty effective but also very heavy for its size.
That’s not been my experience with the new production cans. They’re very light compared to most, without the hub my Rotex 3 only weighs 12oz
