We are happy you are happy! We'll be knocking that barrel out for you and can't wait to see the final build. Thank you for trusting us with your customization :)
Six or seven years ago the shop I worked at worked out a deal where we took in a bunch of 10.5” 416s in exchange for new rifles. We broke down the machine guns and sold them as parts kits. I had a set of the diopter sights for a little bit. I regret not buying one of those parts kits.
Excellent work. I am working on a similar project. SIGWOARMS will be hearing from me soon. Quick question....how did you get the screws out of the MR762 rail? I did them on my HK416 clone but can't figure these out!
1. Pull rear (left) screw halfway out (between the spots where it “clicks” in) 2. Insert a small pick or similar device into the hole to the right of the rear (left) screw and pull back the detent towards the front (right) of the rail 3. Remove the rear (left) screw 4. Cover the small hole to the left of the rear (left) screw hole with your thumb and release the detent. 5. Shake both detents and spring out of the rail 6. Remove front (right) screw
Thanks for the info. Since the adjustable gas blocks are basically unobtainable.....are you just going with the factory gas block and opening up the gas port to 2.0mm? That seems to be the general MR762 to Assaulter 12" barrel mod.
@@HarleyF250guy the factory gas block + 2mm gas port will work for a 12’’ barrel either unsuppressed or with a flow-through suppressor. If you’re going to use a non-flow-through suppressor with the standard block you’re going to want a smaller gas port size, which will leave you under-gassed when shooting unsuppressed. I am going with the 2mm gas port in the hopes that I can find the adjustable gas block before my can is approved.
What can are you thinking about? I had on my mind the B&T Rotex 3. Supposedly that is the clone correct model. I'm still debating the factory HK threads or 5/8x24. 5/8x24 just opens up alot more possibilities for mounts. Thanks for the replies and love the channel.
@@HarleyF250guy I have a Rotex III on order. The clone-correct HK 15x1 flash hider is available, if you’re building a clone that’s what I’d recommend going with

Bro! You are the man. I really appreciate your attention to detail. Just outta curiosity why didn't you go with he fde-ish color? I got a friend who's been to Afghanistan and he's got a REAL 417 lower that he came home with. Highly illegal, yes. I also used to have illegal machine guns. 27 months in the United States Penitentiary of Beaumont Texas aka fed time, turned me to a law abiding citizen.
@InferiorRifles yeah I was young when I got caught up. I had an Egyptian undefolding AK and it was put away for zombie apocalypse, but I showed a "friend" and he had minor legal issues and decided to give me up. Oh well. I also had an uncle who was in Vietnam, he found a Chinese type 56 in the jungle and mailed it home piece by piece. He only recently got rid of it it. Is there a reason you didn't go with that tan color? I just associate that with the 416-417 a lot. I'm sure you did your homework... just curious
Excuse my ignorance, but why does this rifle need the NFA engravings? Is it because it's barrel is going to be cut down? Or is there another reason for it?
Unfortunately, with “sterling” markings you are most likely limited to pre 2011 417, due to the fact that 416, for all I know, had markings of Ashburn during EX-17. However, it’s minor inconvenience. Always welcome to help with seal builds, so, hit me up if you need anything
@@InferiorRifles if you’re trying to built Damian’s 417, well, the helo pic is around 10-12, so, it’s not that far fetched to assume that he has sterling there
not so sound like a smartass, but i actually carried a G27 on deployment in mali, aswell as in germany, iam afraid they (atleast the Bundeswehr ones) do all have that stupid fencing, and i hated it, so iam kind of glad you removed it. i got tons of pictures, if you need any reference material, id love to help, oh and btw yes "S" stands for "schalldämpfer" aka Supressor "N" stands for "Normalbetrieb" aka normal use, you got that right, anyway thats an awesome project man! i hope it turns out every bit how you want it to!
Thanks for the information 👍 that was also my understanding, that the “fence” was added with the G27/G28 series. The “N” translating to “Normal” sounds better than “nonsuppressed” so thanks for clarifying!
@@johndoe-ss1fn They’re essentially the same rifle, I’m not sure why HK decided to call the updated rifle the G27/G28 instead of calling it the “HK417A3”. The HK417 that I’m building is just the first version of the platform while the G27/G28 are more “updated”

Woah a video!? Not just another story post about hunting for a screw?! lol just harassing you man excited for this series even if I don’t share your borderline autistic attention to detail on clones.
Man usually I love your stuff. But this isn't even cloning, this is like Chinese knock offs. It just doesn't feel right. Like why do to all this trouble to make a fake right when things like the coatings are completely wrong? Not like attacking you I just don't understand what this is.
@InferiorRifles I didn't mean it as an attack. I was just kind of shocked by this. I love your channel I've watched every video. But where is the line with this? If you are lasering on logos and proof marks. I guess I'm posing more of a philosophical question here for our community. I noticed this with people refinishing and lasering Su marked hoods for eotechs, and the serial numbers for crane uppers. I guess I'm just confused where this all falls. Cloning usually involves getting really rare expensive versions of lights, rails, lasers ect. And the cool factor is that it IS that part. This is just like the guys in Africa making fake Lamborghinis.
@@johnadams673 you have a misconception of what cloning is. It’s never been solely about having the actual parts. The are many clone builds where making one or more parts yourself is the only reasonable option. If you want to fork over $16,000 for a real 417 upper then be my guest, but I’m going to stick with remarking a commercial receiver like 99.999% of cloners do. Everyone draws the line for themselves at a different place, but the line you’re drawing turns cloning from a hobby that’s about replicating details to the best of your ability into a money-burning competition.
