Jeff Gurwitch video: • History of SOPMOD BLK ...
I appreciate the shout-out! Yep Ranger and Airforce Spec ops got the Non-FSP version before us. Great video
When I was in the Rangers, we still had some old heads who were rocking M4A1 block 1 with an Ergo rail extension and more modern optics, lasers, and lights
Of course Air Force dudes got the new stuff first lol thank you sir! Appreciate the kind words
M4A1 and it's derivatives/variants are the best combat rifles/carbines in existence. Coupled with an RMR topped Elcan Specter DR 1×4 and you also have the best combat worthy optic combo as well. Just beautiful with M855A1 and Mk262 77 grain OTMS. Perfectly balanced lethality and mobility.
People don’t realize this but a lot of MARSOC’s attachments/weapons when they started out were “hand me downs” from Ranger Regiment
I flew into Afghanistan with some group guys and they were running mostly Elcans with the Mod 1. Have you built a HK 416 OGA rifle clone?
I have a video on the HK416 here:
ruclips.net/video/NDpR7WIPcUA/видео.html
@@InferiorRifles I appreciate that. Thanks
Really? When I flew in, I carried an uzi for more mobility
I love my block II M4!
Another banger video! Nice work IR 👍
Now that the URGI is getting more widespread, some of the Block 2’s are actually going to big Army. Guys in the 82nd and 101st have some of them, and were getting them back in 2020 while in Afghanistan.
Good ol’ hand-me-downs
I build an FSP Model Block 2 clone, call me old fashioned but I love the Front Sight Post and rear sights for back up.
Ive always been a budget guy, because thats how my life is. However, Im actually getting ride of some of my "cheaper" stuff to get a more accurate reliable system. Im stuck between the DD and URGI systems. This stuff is really interesting to me!
That's the best philosophy. Just downsize and get upper crust stuff. So many people want to have a million budget guns and eschew high-dollar products. That's never made sense to me.
Can’t go wrong with either of those systems, but I chose the DD M4A1 for the quad rail aesthetic and also the fact that everyone and their moms has a URGI
Should the uppers always be C marked unless cloning something recent enough to be FN? I noticed your FSB upper is cage code marked.
The majority of issued Block II uppers would have been C marked, Cerro (Keyhole) forge uppers, though sometimes others were used (AF, square, Diemaco, etc).
@@InferiorRifles C stamp or raised C? What upper markings would be good for a Block II FSP?
@@BillyWillicker either one, both were commonly used. An FSP build would most commonly use a Cerro forge upper
@@InferiorRifles Thank you sir.
Always enjoy your videos keep up the great work
I know you have a glscc block ii variant you aren't telling us about....
🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
A lot of people say that they hate the Elcan, but the major problem was that the company was horrible about repairing them, so by the time you got one, it was beat to hell
True
I've got no idea how anybody could hate the Elcan? The thing is absolutely built like an MBT and they have great glass and functionality. Not to mention it's just downright sexy AF lol
@tasjan9190 from my experience they don't stand up to as much punishment as everyone says most guys I know went back to ACOGs or VCOGs
Awesome vid brother, good information
The best 🤌🏻
those are beauties!
The timing could not have been better. I'm doing one that is meant to mimic what the Rangers have been carrying. Also @2:21, Jeff also pointed out that they later started reintroducing the FSP versions. That's why you will find images going back to 2017-2019 of Rangers with FSP upper rifles.
Never saw anyone in regiment with a FSP and I was deployed and in regiment at that time, only time was when guys ran 320’s under mounted on the Block 1 uppers so you did not have to remove the bottom rail of the block 2
I’ve got a picture on my channel of my exact Block 2 and MK18 i carried in Ranger Regiment
@@ViktoriousDead I see now that the pictures I had collected of Army SF were Green Berets and not Rangers.
@@epiccowboymemes2042 Easy mistake to make, especially because grooming standards were often relaxed
@@ViktoriousDead Well it was more the fact that the emblems and articles the pictures were attached to were messing me up.
Has any ever ran 552s in THE US?
Love clone rifles
Can we get a history video on the URG-I? I know it is fairly new but i think it would be interesting
@@NS50117 I’m planning on doing a URGI video eventually
Question, i keep seeing the Colt cage code uppers with the Square forge mark. I got 2 cage code uppers with the KeyHole forge mark. Is that still accurate for cloning? I cant find much about the forge marking with colt.
The FSP version is sexy
Exactly 💯. The front sight post is iconic and just sexy AF lol
The fsp model looks awesome but the non-FSP has to be lighter and more accurate, right?
It’s a couple ounces lighter, accuracy is identical though.
Are non fsp uppers midlength gas system?
Carbine
midlength didn't start until the URGI
Who's foot is that at 7:21?????
That's his own foot. He's an amputee Green Beret.
These M4 clones stop being clones when auto-fire fun switch can be used😁
