Wow finally somebody found the fix for this really common issue and people giving up on it. Thank you so much brother im gonna try this and i have a feeling its gonna work.
Did it work? I'm about to try this just checking what the odds are.. I have the 60v max brushless hoping 8ys the same issue. Mine starts to spin about a 1/16- an 1/8 of a spin then dead.
Awesome. I’ve had mine for a couple of years and has just done this last month. I pulled all apart except stopped short of pulling electrical apart so will have a crack. Makes sense what you’ve found though…. And seeing as it is consistently doing it, surely Dewalt are liable and aware they are using wiring that is to small to handle the current? I have noticed that if I put out to much cord ( I’ve taken my guard off ), it does seem to just stop regularly during use? I always thought it was cause the batteries are getting hot? I’d say watching this, probably exactly the case?
I got one like it but had one stop working been seeing others are having Sama Robles and also others complane about their small Chainsaws leaking oil seems like the company would do something they make a lot of nice tools
I’m having trouble getting mine apart. Can you make a video of the entire process of getting it apart? I took out all the screws and cut the label along the seam but there seems to be something stopping it from opening on the bottom where it connects to the stem.
I am uploading now but make sure you, 1 remove battery, 2 remove 13 bolts, 3 cut the taped label at seam, 4 take a knife or scrapper to get in to separate! Make take a screen shot as soon as you separate as a couple piece can come out that way you can see where they go!

I had the red wire solder break today. As before redo soldering and it up and working again!

Did you figure it out? I’m at the same point now. Got it almost all the way off but stuck at the very bottom on one side.

5 pound hand sledge!!! Then try to put it back TOGETHER!!!
Is there ANYTHING that lasts more than ONE season anymore???
So true craftsmanship is not what it used to be! Not even trusted brands.
Thanks
Just got this dang thing. Used it once and put it in the garage for a week and now it won't turn on. Smh.
What the hell man ! Same problem here! For what they ask for them ! You think they do a better job ! I’m mad!
I agree
My is 18v and got it replaced twice, and brought a new one different modem and it happened again. Same failure.
That’s a shame! Quality is not good
