      @@Rogerwayne96 three things that helps me
      1) run it in low speed mode

      Right, as promised I've done exactly what you said and, though it's a bit late I'm here!
      If you own a DeWalt trimmer, buy the Husqvarna trimmer head one as shown in this vid by Tim. It is literally light years better than the one DeWalt provides and removal / attachment is as easy as he says it is.

  • @someonespadre
    @someonespadre Год назад +2

    This is good news because the T35 is readily available. I’ve run my Husqvarna 40v in hard service for 5 years, the head finally failed, trying to get a new one (that one is right hand thread T25B). I bought this DeWalt, overall it’s okay but like you say the head is cheap crap, the DeWalt string is more durable than their head. I broke it after 30 minutes. DeWalt says don’t touch the ground, how are you supposed to bump it? Bought a new one ($34) but came here looking for a universal replacement next time I break it. Husqvarna actually understands that hitting hard things hidden in the grass is unavoidable but their smooth disk just bounces off with almost no damage. The DeWalt head has protrusions of brittle plastic which break if you inadvertently hit something hard.

    • @someonespadre
      @someonespadre Год назад

      Ironically I can walk into Lowes and buy the Husqvarna T35 head for my DeWalt trimmer (sold at Home Depot and Ace where I got mine) but I can’t get the head I need for my Husqvarna 40v trimmer.

I replaced the battery thinking it was just the battery and it ran for about another 5 minutes then died again and would not restart. The next day it started again and I've been just running it on low. I'm guessing it just overheated. Pretty pathetic when you consider how lightly I was using it. @@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP I assume fine. I am used to the bump feed heads on commercial trimmers. I didn't some were interchangeable.
      I was struggling with my head so I googled how to replace head to see if I did anything wrong when winding it. Then I came across this vid. A commercial head is clearly a better option.

    Keeping it respectful, this is completely wrong. I have the 60v max dewalt and a stihl gas trimmer sitting right here. The dewalt shaft has a thread pitch of 10.0x 1.25. The stihl is 10.0x 1.00. I also have an autocut 25-2 right here too. Brand new in the package. Dosen't fit. Did you just cross thread it till it got tight. Thanks for nothing.

    Whole unit is a piece of crap. Mine won't turn on after some light use. Just DOA. Not the battery, tried different ones.

      Has anyone tried making a window screen dome over the top of the motor. It seems a poor design just made to suck in grass clippings and dirt.

    The biggest issue with dewalt string trimmers is not the head but the motors. 100s and 100s of failures all over the web. Buy a different strimmers.

    If you delay replacing the piece of shit Dewalt head, it will come apart, and within a few seconds, the now out-of-balance head will ruin / destroy your motor. It happened to me and my just out of warrenty 20 volt Dewalt string trimmer. So, that was money completely wasted on my piece of crap, Dewalt... I have a number of Dewalt products i.e. drills, miter saw, random orbtal sanders, & pole saw, but they will never see another penny from this ol' boy!
