After watching your G4 video just now, came here next, Brian. I can't help it, but I just like the natural, neutral and not-over-saturated look of the A95L. It is so frikkin accurate. I'm probably going for this reason, and due to high PC desktop use (hours and hours of static images per day) for the Sony Miniled 2024 at 85". G4 looks solid, especially the gaming features, but the biggest thing for me is not the burn-in fear, or the gaming features (while both very high on the list), but the neutral and accurate picture. Not decided yet, the LG G4 83" is definitely up there and still competing, first need to see the Sony XR90. Edit: Looking at this now twice, the G4 looks like Reality Creation is turned on by default on the Sony. I don't like some of the scenes where it oversharpens and "creates" detail on the G4. If the source material does not have the data, I don't like the idea of the TV putting it there based on an AI estimate of what should be there. Rather, I'd have the TV produce it as accurately as possible, let the source material providers take care of the resolution and what is in the input.
@EIGrueso. Hey, thank you for the comment and checking out the video. Means allot. Thank you for sharing that with us. I think may of us are going to be pleasantly surprised this year of how good lg has done with the g4.
@MM-Official. Heyyy. As always nice to hear from you again. It really means allot. Thank you thank you thank you. The 83-inch is probably the best one out there right now. I wish I could've gotten that bad boy but it was to much out of my range to justify the price difference. Believe me if I could I would.
@@consumerreview2k Don't bother Bro (80% of earth population can't afford that mammouth set )and thank you very much for your efforts and passion , it mean a lot to your community
For those saying the G4 is clipping the bright parts, that's very likely just the exposure on the camera doing that, and not the TV itself. ogcod would have to confirm, but I'd bet money on that being the case.
Thank you so much @ogcod for this fantastic comparison. One thing I noticed with QD-OLED vs. WOLED is that QD-OLED tends to have slightly better color gamut and color brightness, whereas WOLED tends to have better whites. Are you able to see any of these differences when comparing the Sony A95L vs LG G4?
Color gamut volume of LG G3 is equiv. to HDTV Rec.709 (67% P3), whereas with A95L it’s 98% P3. So not slightly better - significantly greater coverage.
Seems only logical that without dynamic tone mapping G4 is the same brightness as G3. The source hdr material defines the brightness. You would only see a difference in peak highlights but up there our eyes wont be able to distinguish the little plus in brightness very easily. So to profit from an overall brighter image you need dynamic tonemapping to increase overall brightness levels.
Pulled the trigger on the G3 last month for $2900 tax and shipping included, pretty happy esp now I see the differences to G4 aren’t worth an extra $2k. I’ll wait another couple generations before upgrading
wait, the G3 is $3k and G4 is $5k?? holy geeze. Here the G4 is 2300 with a discount and G3 2100 (both 65") Bigger than 65 tho the G4 is crazy expensive lol 77 is 3700 and 83 is 5300
@jeffleigh3747. Hey nice to hear from you again. Thank you and you will be seeing another one extremely soon. Hope to see you in the comments more often. Thank you
A pixel is a pixel, so what makes for that increase in detail? Better accuracy out of the box? Higher contrast ratio? Or some background processing altering the image in a way that diverts from directors intent?
@isak6626. A pixel is a pixel correct but it is all about the processing. Thats like saying a 500 dollar 4k tv looks exactly the same as a 4500 dollar 4k tv. It's the processing power that will be able to better show that image you are staring at. It will take that images fine details and process it even more in order to give you a better more detailed image.
A 500 dollar TV can't deliver the director's intent though. From what I've heard, the G4 is very very accurate out of the box, so I suspect that in itself does help with the rendering of fine detail.
@@isak6626 the added fine detail from processing is not directors intent. The pixels are changing. However if you look at them side by side you'll prefer the extra detail as it's a subjective improvement. More clarity, no way around it. People rave about Sony and they have had undefeatable processing for years. Turn everything off and you'll still get a little more fine detail than a TV that truly turns it all off. Either way with things like dynamic tone mapping and reality creation, upscaling, etc It's a more expensive TV using it's own processing to show what it can REALLY do. The software allows you to get the maximum performance out of your TV's on any content. So you get the most out of your panel.
@@paulcox2447 when movies are made, fine detail can be adjusted. Directors (and colorists etc.) will do what is necessary to make the picture look as good as it can. If a TV like the G4 adds "detail", it's doing something it's not supposed to. If you go to a restaurant, you want to taste the food as intended by the chef. You don't want the waiter to add salt to your food on the way to your table. Bad call LG.
I want to see regular DVD (480p) and low bit streaming content comparisons between the Sony A95L and LG G4. Also, I'd like to see highlight detail comparisons between the 3 TVs. The G4 appears to blow highlight details while the A95L and G3 retain them.
It's just the camera clipping because it's can't properly expose for all 3 at the same time. The g4 actually has the best tone mapping right now with it's new processor. It does a really good job with highlight placements and upscaling content as well. They made a big jump this year.
I just got the 65" A95L from Greentoe for $2800, no taxes. Its my 1st OLED ever, upgraded from a 2019 Samsung QLED. I set up the A95L yesterday and i cant believe my eyes. I dont believe i can ever go back to regular LED again. Hoping to get a G4 on sale later this year for my bedroom.
Im thinking to get the same TV and size, and Im coming from an ancient Samsung 55 inch LED 1080p tv...lol but Im still confused if I should wait for the G4 or just get the Sony..I went to the Sony showroom and played with the 77inch display unit and was amazed of it. I heard there is no protective film on the Sony A95L..Did you get any scratches on yours?
@@ElGrueso What is making me lean towards the Sony is the Google OS...I am so used to it and while testing it on the A95L I felt it was so fluid and easy to deal with.
@@emsss78 WebOS 24 + Alpha 11 AI Chip (even better than Sony XR Cognitive) is snappy and fluid as it can get. Plus LG announced free complete OS update for 5 years which is amazing. If you are getting a new TV and money is no issue then LG G4 is the best TV in the market.
WHATS UP!!!! I've been waiting for you to do this comparison as this will greatly impact my decision on buying the G3 or the G4. Please do the G4 vs the G3 with HDR movies. Also can you play with the AI Picture with the Directors settings as some reviews have said it is really amazing and adds to the picture depth from different reviews. Thanks again and Lets Go!
@DonKueffler. Hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. I purchased the Sanus VSTV tv stand that is compatible with the tv but you should run measurements of the entertainment center you plan to put the stand on because the Stand has I believe almost 17 to 18 inches.
@bigbadslimee. Hey, thank you for the comment and for checking out the video. Means a lot. An image displayed on a screen that's exactly the same from one tv to another for the most part you are correct does look the same at first glance. But that is not the case all the tike. Think of it this way. If you take a cheap, let's say 500 to 600 dollar tv and run a side by side with it against, let's say, any premium tv such as a qd oled or oled. You will clearly see the difference. Same resolution just like you mentioned. The reason why the premium tv looks better is because of the processing power behind it. The better the processing, the better the image quality capabilities are. Unless, of course, they get downgraded by a software update, of course, which samsung has a bad reputation for. It is not only the resolution of the image being displayed. It is how the processing of the image is displayed. Some have better capabilities to bring the details out more clearly than the others that simply do not have as much processing power.
@fenixPajarito. Hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. I think it's a great upgrade. But that's different then being worth it. Being worth it means more. This may depend on what you currently have now or what your primary use case is
A95L was better than G3 however I must admit G4 is legitimately as good as A95L and even better in clarity and depth, LG Alpha A11 processor is a huge jump for LG
@@TheAntifluenceryeah ok. The g4 is even more washed out than the g3. They keep cranking the brightness and washing it out more and more every year. A95l would destroy the g4 in a shootout just like it smoked the g3.
So I have a A95L 65" but I am in the process of sending it back for a 77" G3 and for the price I can't see how sticking with it or switching to a G-4 65" can make sense over the bigger 77" G-3 for the price can make sense? If I am doing this all wrong someone tell me!
@d.p.4271. Hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. That's a tough one because if your asking me. I like the A95L a little better then the G3. But I also do understand that the value of the g3 in a 77inch space is better then that of the 65 inch a95l. So fir that reason it seems like immersion is more important to you. With that being the case than try it out and see hiw you like it. I would think 9 put of 10 ppl will be happy with the LG G3. it is a Beuatiful tv. Processing is right up there woth the A95L. The only thing I would strongly recommend is that you buy it from a retailer that allows you to return it if you are not happy with it because allot of retailer have disclosures that will not allow refunds woth tvs that are a certain size or over. And usually the 77 inch size falls into that policy of non refundable.
@@consumerreview2k I agree I started with a 55" A90J and loved it even got it calibrated, wanted to upgrade in size and went to a 65" G-3 I liked it but felt maybe the A95L 65" would be a better for me because I was coming from a master series Sony. I ponied up the difference for it and def saw a difference out of the box but it wasn't a gigantic difference as it had been in the past with the A90J to me the A95L beat the G-3 but barley beat it and that is without calibrating them and not in my opinion justifying such a drastic price difference. I was very disappointed in the sound on the A95L the A90J sounds better then all of these panels we are discussing and it isn't even close. So if the quality is that close and either panel is gonna require a soundbar and likely a calibration anyway why not go with the larger 77" G-3 (still has MLA) now if you say go with the G-4 65" its night and day better then the G-3 that's another story! lol
@d.p.4271 I wouldn't say that they are night and day difference But it is quite a noticeable upgrade with things like the picture enhanced settings such as tone mapping pro, Ai picture pro, specular highlights, color luminance and purity has definitely improved. Processing is noticbly improved in certain areas like fine details, even with ai picture pro off. Etc. But I haven't played with the tv enough. I will be running a side by side comparison soon for 4k hdr physical disc. As that to me is where the tvs truly shine at their peak performance. But I think if most people are streaming content in sdr or 4k, most people will not need to get the g4. The g4 is a more refined tv for the things that nit pickers and enthusiasts have complained about over the years and lg has addressed and corrected for the most part. So that's why it is such a nice tv. And it all mostly had to do with the new A11 processor.
@Tottorul. Hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video on my channel. I have not yet done that. But that is definitely on my list to check out for sure. Hope to see your comments in that video. It will be coming in very soon.
Yes, eagerly awaiting more comparison videos! Rewatched this video, to me in the past, oleds have just been a little bit under the brightness necessary to not have a little bit of a flat and hence unnatural image due to the max brightness. This G4 to me seems to hit the brightness just about enough to mitigate that effect for me judging by the video. Hence I'm very excited. Also for me detail and clarity is number one feature. Sony was the master of that with its ability to set settings but now this looks really great, it might also be due to the the new pixel structure organization (or maybe that is just for monitors to improve text clarity)

Nice video - is reality creation and the other image enhancements settings on for the A95L? Can you show some images with some text like a sign on an image far away? Usually text makes it very clear to see which is clearer. For instance, someone was showing a clip of the A80L and C3 in gaming and you paused the video and looked at the license plate or the decals on the cars and they were much cleaner on the A80L. The same happened on the settings tab where there was a lot of small text that appeared much clearer on the A80L. I think you did the Mario Kart demo, right? And I remember pausing and checking and the results were pretty shocking.

Thank you for the response. Sure, I can provide more information. I primarily need the TV for 4K HDR content and gaming with the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, from first-person shooters like Apex to open-world games. Most people say the bigger the TV, the better, but the viewing distance in relation to the TV size is crucial for the immersion experience. However, that’s not all; otherwise, I could just watch movies on my iPhone close to my face! Since I have never experienced how significant the difference in immersion from 65 to 77 inches is at the optimal seating distance, and how much it matters feeling-wise, I am asking for your recommendations. Since I cannot see on RUclips exactly how much better the G4 is compared to the G3 and I can’t just view it anywhere, what would you recommend? Also, in your opinion, was the jump from the G2 to the G3 bigger than from the G3 to the G4?

Besides Dynamictonemapping there should be any brightness different not even on a c3 as the tv Trracks the eotf curve! You need to look at bright speactual highlights, there should be the different between the g3 and g4
@91DivineAngel. hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. Means allot. Yea I don't really see any overall brightness improvements between the g4and g3 authentication moment. Seems like it's about the same. Besides the specular highlights and dynamic tone mapping on, seems to look the same in terms of brightness. I think the g4 shojes with its new image quality. For example. Fine details and better color purity.
S95D not brighter than the G4, S95D in movie mode has it active tone mapping activated and brightens everything up, also in film maker mode the S95D around 1756-1777 depending on the size of the panel, which is higher than G4 IN film maker mode, g4 is around 1500nit, but in cinema mode the G4 is about 1800nit.

At this point it feels like we are splitting hairs, the differences are so subtle. For me the A95L is the still one to get especially as it will be sold cheaper that the G4 right now. To my eyes colour is still superior on the QD oled panels plus with Sony’s processor and sound quality it’s hard to beat in my opinion
Sony motion processing is enough for me to pick their TV every time. Hopefully these new LGs are better than the CX and C1, which weren’t great when I compared them in person to the Sony A90J (which I ended up buying).

I've owned 4 tv's since HD came out in 2006.. First a Pioneer 9th gen Kuro, a LG 1080p oled, Panasonic VT65B and a A95K. Without a doubt the worst was the LG.. It got 10/10 scores across the board, HDTVtest, AVForums, WhatHIFI. 2nd worst the VT65B! Shocking. My Kuro still looks incredible to this day but the A95K surpasses it. The Kuro is a master of colour! Skin tones look real. The A95K after lots of adjustment now matches it.. This vid just shows brightness level? Since when is that the most important element in new tv comparisons?? Colour is primary... Brightness a distant 2nd. The A95K set up right will easily beat the G4 in 'Filmmaker' mode. The A95L will kill it.
Offcourse , this is just typical stupid uncalibrated tv comparison. Sony always will beat in low res process and what is set brightness on those tv's ?😂
It does look really good..some scenes still look better on the A95L and some scenes look better on the G4..But we all know that the Sony A95M will be out in September and slaughter the G4...The A95L is now last years model compared to a new LG G4 2024 model

@jimpayne9488. Hey, thank you for the comment and for checking out the video. Heck yea, I can't wait to test that out. I hope to see you more often in the comments.it would be .ore appreciated then you think.
I get that I’m seeing these displays on a screen instead of in person but while the G4 seems brighter than the G3 and A95L, it also looks like it clips whites terribly and blows out specular highlight detail and the A95L is more color accurate than the G4 (greens look like a sickly neon green compared to the more natural refined green on the A95L). Also TVs are not cell phones, they are not meant to be traded in and upgraded every year. Anyone who upgrades their perfectly functional TV annually is an absolute fool.
Really good comparison! The G4 is an absolute beast!

@MM-Official you have to give credit where it is due my friend 😁
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY i agree my bro, both your awesome, i admire your modesty and your allergy to drama when it come to review TVs
Woah, big shout-out!

For those saying the G4 is clipping the bright parts, that's very likely just the exposure on the camera doing that, and not the TV itself. ogcod would have to confirm, but I'd bet money on that being the case.
It’s washing out all the bright parts. Will look good on RUclips because his camera sucks and the settings are dogshit
@@JonPaisis there much watchable content in P3?
Seems only logical that without dynamic tone mapping G4 is the same brightness as G3. The source hdr material defines the brightness. You would only see a difference in peak highlights but up there our eyes wont be able to distinguish the little plus in brightness very easily. So to profit from an overall brighter image you need dynamic tonemapping to increase overall brightness levels.
Pulled the trigger on the G3 last month for $2900 tax and shipping included, pretty happy esp now I see the differences to G4 aren’t worth an extra $2k. I’ll wait another couple generations before upgrading

So you get the most out of your panel.
yeah, they are going a bit too far with the processing imo. Sony started it last year.

No joke on that. Nowadays everything is streaming so you can have a hell of a panel but a shitty chip and its like have a V8 with no wheels.
It's just the camera clipping because it's can't properly expose for all 3 at the same time. The g4 actually has the best tone mapping right now with it's new processor. It does a really good job with highlight placements and upscaling content as well. They made a big jump this year.
I would add the Panasonic

@@dwight2310 it's the same video at the same resolution, how can a tv claim to show more detail than what the camera captures

S95D not brighter than the G4, S95D in movie mode has it active tone mapping activated and brightens everything up, also in film maker mode the S95D around 1756-1777 depending on the size of the panel, which is higher than G4 IN film maker mode, g4 is around 1500nit, but in cinema mode the G4 is about 1800nit.

That new AI processor is pretty sick, finally LG got GREAT upscaling.

It's not cheaper than the G4 lol. The G4 is the TV to get if you're spending that type of money.
Sony motion processing is enough for me to pick their TV every time. Hopefully these new LGs are better than the CX and C1, which weren’t great when I compared them in person to the Sony A90J (which I ended up buying).
@@Z4d0k The difference between Sony & LG motion processing is so small, I understand you're a Sony fan though, each has their strengths & weaknesses.

Would love to see some movie comparisons. See the difference in specular highlights and clarity!
The excuse is copyright restrictions but nobody ever shows LG with movies on RUclips because Sony would embarrass it. 91% color volume vs 75 lol. It’s not even a competition.

But is the G4 worth of an upgrade from a 77G3? Let's be honest, not all the content out there is in Dolby Vision or 4k. We are still dealing with mediocre 720 or 1080p tv shows most of the time. My G3 does a great job upscaling with a little help from the Apple TV. Would you sell a 77G3 for a 77G4?
Of course it's better than the G3. The actual VALUABLE comparison is against the A95L because it was last year's best tv.
So pick G4 or A95L.
if I didn't have 77g2, then this year I would buy 77g4

He was never on the a95l. He buys these TVs so he can justify his lg to his cult. He gave the W over Sony last year because it was an outgoing model, this way he makes it look like the g4 is some kind of monumental achievement. Yall got played.

Just wow! G4 really want to go for it and win the tv award of the year. I'm quite ready to get it, should i wait for Rtings review or go for it?
The only way lg can win a shootout is if Sony doesn’t compete in it.
Great video. So far between the A95L and G4, which tv has more color? You should do movies first and then gaming, and last demos .
A95l has more color out of the box. G4 may pop more but through accentuated colors. I think G4 matches A95l after calibration, but that's if you can do that part correctly.
A95 overall still the king
Good comparison! Good job. i love my c1 still
@kyle1981. Hey thank you for the comment and checking out the video. And thank you for the kind words. The c1 is still a popular tv.
I also still have my c1, almost 4000 hours and still good. Was thinking of upgrading though this year. Maybe a95l or g4. Think it’s worth it or keep c1?
@Mugen____ I would personally think upgrading from a c1 would be a pleasantly noticeable upgrade. The processing alone would be a pretty big upgrade.
Me too still got my C1 here and don't want to sell it to get new oled tv but if i sale it i will go for the G4 because of the high level fo the brightness, sharpness and details of the G4 but as our C1 are still bright enough no complain about that, we still can keep them, sure they are still great popular tvs on the market for those who can still find them new, but not sure more C1 and CX must be seconde hand tvs now, but yeah what a great tv is still, i think the real bad oled tvs with troubles as easy burn-in, less brightness was the old models before the 2020 years after 2020 from the CX to now all OLEDs are fine now.. it just depend on what you're looking for on details...so that's it
I upgraded from LG c1 to Sony a95l, the difference is night and day. A95L is the best tv hands down. I loved the c1 tho
Movies with close up detail to see any processing differences and then gaming. IMO.

If you’re looking for an 83 inch G4 it is still split to wait or pull for a G4..
wow, G4 makes the A95L looks like a B3 vs G3. Actually, the A95L looks worst than the G3, which shouldn't be, something is off.

You do know that’s down to the limited dynamic range of his camera right? The G4 is brighter, which means the camera cannot handle the range.

@@Sonola777 then why do the G3 and a95L have better white detail in the exact same shots using the same camera?
