Really falling in love with that Land Cruiser! Fun fact, the 70 Land Cruisers are still being sold in Canada with the exception of it being in under very strict conditions and it’s only used in mining industries.
Congrats on picking up a great truck. An iconic vehicle here in Australia. In the remote areas of the country, the 70 series is mainly what you'll see on the roads - they're just so tough and reliable. But you already know that ;) I got my 76 series in December, and love it - so much character and fun to drive.
grew up in the back of an old 75 series troop carrier, great old bus's the 1hz is an extremely dependable motor. my first ute was a 75 series and younger me would have been very jealous of your extractors and factory air con which didnt come standard in mine! great work look forward to seeing more.
Welcome to the troopy club mate, been cutting around in the scrub for 15yrs in my ex-mine 2002 and been waiting 9mths for my new one. They are rough as guts mate, hard to break. Have fun
I can feel your enthusiasm about the Troopy, it is the same to me, if I see my Troopy in front of me or driving all over the world. Greetings from a 78 from Germany.
Love the troopy mate! We don’t get to seen them in the snow very often. I’ve been waiting 10 months for my new 2022 V8 Troopy here is Aus. Keep up the great vids 👍🏼
Really cool to see. I'm from Australia and Troppys are common here. In fact I have one too 😄 They have a bit of a cult following and are super reliable. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it
That is one hell of a vehicle, I wonder how many are in Canada? I love how the tow truck guy stuck around too that was funny. Good stuff, cant wait to see what adventures you get this thing into.
Nice buy, thanks to the rona prices on 2nd hand LC70s have been sky high over here in Aus for the last couple of years. also with the fire extinguisher under the drivers seat like that I suspect this is an ex Mine vehicle, which would explain why the rear end is sitting so high. The Mines will almost always beef up the suspension in their 70s, so if she seems way too stiff then its probably set for a fairly high constant load. Mind you, they're always a bit stiff empty anyway. Still, it's an awesome machine, and I can't wait to see what you do with it over there. 👍
Thankfully we got this one for a good price! It’s not an ex mine vehicle, it was bought at a private sale from a private owner who had it for several years as a daily driver. Definitely some beefy leaf springs tho. We will be building a small home in the back eventually so the extra leafs will come in handy for the weight.
@@allterraintrails judging by the Ocean and Earth Sticker on the back it was owned by a surfer and might have spent a lot of time near salt water. check the roof gutters for rust repairs! I see a little in the rear quarter panel.
That’s so interesting! I just bought a 1995 Troopy that was originally in Australia too (I’m in the US). Same color exterior and interior. My large rear window had the same bubbling- wonder what causes that?? I LOVE mine- such a great truck. Good luck with it!
I wonder how do diesel Japanese imports SUVs behave in very cold winters! How has your experience been with Calgary's coldest winters? I have been importing gasoline ones only but I am very tempted to import the diesel ones too, like TLC or Nissan safaris.
I noticed the orange light on the dashboard, that’s telling you the timing belt needs replacement, you can buy a kit that supplies everything you need including the water pump cheers 👍👍👍
We don't know anyone in Panama who could have went to look at the vehicle, filled out paperwork, and delivered the vehicle to the port. Australia made the most sense and we love our RHD! It's unique here in Canada
Trust me, these are as tough as. Not unusual to do over 1m/km on that diesel engine. The LC is used here by the agricultural, mining industries , families etc . Top vehicle, enjoy. shouldn't be too difficult to get parts or servici ng there. Guaranteed to turn heads! RHD vehicle.
@@allterraintrails Toyota is one of the biggest selling vehicles in Australia. My family use them on their 2 properties in Queensland Aust . want one of these brand new sooo friggin bad , im willing to buy a brand new one and store it in my garage for 15 years before i register it on Canadian roads, THATS IF THEY EVEN LET ME IMPORT IT...... why do we have laws like these , jesus
Hi , I’m wondering do you know how to import a classic car from Australia to Canada. Or do you have any recommendations for car importer? Appreciate that!
Firstly, timing belt warning shud be a concern bro... Do have a check on that... Either need to be replace or sensor faulty... Other than that, 70series was a wise choice bro... You shud check on Thai 4x4 mod for the engine swap... Hahahaha
Outstanding job you guys. Must be neat to have something totally different from all the other cookie cutter overland vehicles on the road. Does it take some time to get used to driving a right hand steering vehicle.
Love your video!! Would we be able to chat offline? I’d also like to read your blog article on the import journey- can’t quite find the link. Thanks/Josh
Nice car. I'm moving to Canada from Norway soon, I have a Swedish registered HZJ75 troopy from 1999, I've been thinking if I should bring it to Canada, there doesn't seem to be many of them in Canada, any suggestions? Was the registration process complicated?
Thank you! They are still quite rare here in Canada. I have never seen another one. It's not terribly difficult to register but you will need an "out of province inspection" done where they inspect to make sure the vehicle is road worthy. That's about it! What province are you moving to?

Here in Costa Rica we got LHD of thoses. Used by the Red Cross and Social Security hospitals, also the police use them as detention wagons.

Bro how do I import a used Toyota lc from Australia?
Wasn't it more convenient to import it from Latin America? I say this because the wheel is on the left side in Latin America.

I very cool rig in the making. Too bad they didn’t import from Germany. Right hand drive is a no go for me.
How are the rules in Canada regarding importing a car? Does a car have to be minimum 25 years old like in the US?
nah it's only 15 years in all of Canada except Quebec where it uses the same minimum 25 years restrictions as the US
