This is awesome! I know it’s an older post, but got my Troopy (also from Australia) and am as excited as you all are! Mine is a 1995 with a 1HZ engine. Started with rust repair, new seats, and sound deadening. I just got the roof conversion, awnings, and gullwing windows installed. Next is suspension, lockers, bumpers, etc. Then full on ASPW expedition build interior. Can’t wait! Following y’all is awesome and inspiring!
Wow guys, you're lucky, now you have the most popular car and the best car on this planet 👏 omg,I love how the engine sound, my father and love him have 3 in Honduras and one PRADO 2005 ,wow your are amazing congratulations 🎊 👏
What's awesome is you achieved the goal of owning a Troopy LC but what's even more awesome you both did it together. I am very happy for the both of you and look forward to see what you guys have planned for both the LC and Montero and all those awesome adventures you both take!!
I have a kzj78w from Japan but I'm curious what company or how did you import from Australia? I plan to try and import a 76 or 79 later down the road when it's legal. Congrats btw that's a clean troopy🔥🤙🏽
The car you bought has a right-hand drive, as all mail vehicles do. As cars drive on right, you had to have that converted to the standard left-hand side.
Troopy is awesome! Time for some Cruiser homework. Axles are similar to the 80 series, you will have a lot of resources here and they are easy to work on!
Congrats on your purchase! For other people looking for something similar and affordable The Mitsubishi montero wagon also came with a high roof and deisel engine. And many different variations as well.
HOLY SHIT!!! I was looking at this EXACT Troopy. It was picked up (by you guys) just a few days before I reached the seller. Congrats. You got yourself a real beauty.
AMAZING!! So pleased for y’all! Congratulations! I’m from Australia and have a Troopy. I’ve found it rather difficult to find out whether or not it’s possible to legally get it sent over there, though! But a lot of people say that it’s not. So the American roads/transport registration don’t mind the left hand drive? Perhaps it depends on the state? Were there any specifications that had to be met, that you weren’t expecting? Were there expensive tariffs for importing it? Hope you don’t mind all of my questions! I’m just super keen to get mine over there some day, too! She’s been my dream car for a long time and now that I have had her for a year and a half, I never want to say bye to her! 😢 Thanks in advance! And congratulations, again 🥳
I don't like a lot of overlanding couples but you guys are so awesomely down to earth!! Your wife is soooo excited. Already subbed. All I have is my 05 Ford Escape Hybrid. OMG your new rig has australian stickers!!!! It's sooo cool!!!
Congratulations! Dream car for sure, you guys caught a unicorn! They are super rare over here in Portugal, only imported. Monteros (or Pajeros here) on the other hand there are a lot, but almost all are diesel. Good luck with the truck!
@@gondirtin there are a lot of 3 doors versions, but the long one with 5 doors is very common too. A lot of 2.5 TD and 2.8 TD, the 3.0 V6 is less common, but there are a few. And they all sell relatively cheap. Dont know the prices in Germany, but i can look around here if you want. Here there is the advantage of no use of salt on the roads, unlike Germany, and that is less rust to worry about. Feel free to ask anything you want, its my pleasure to help you guys out. If you prefer we can DM through Instagram. Just let me know, feel at ease!
How does this work for legal? Do you have a list of what's involved? Could you buy a 2024 land cruiser from Australia? Buddy is interested in the version that's diesel with a manual trans. 🙏💕
Good on you guys, I’m from Tasmania, it’s funny I had a troopy for around 5 years great vehicle. When I sold it I bought a turbo diesel Pajero also a great vehicle. Your new troopy looks great, and has been decked out with some good gear. Enjoy 👍🎉🍺
That's awesome!! We love both our Troopy and our Montero. Both serve completely different of purposes and both wonderful vehicles. So funny you had both as well!
Hi, I’m retiring next year and my wife and I were wondering what drone and editing program you use so we can make some videos of our trip around Australia for my daughters and grandkids of our travels , any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks Laurie and Sabine from Darwin 👍😃
Hi there! We use a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone and Adobe Premiere, which is a professional editing software, for video editing. If you just want to make simple travel videos iMovie that comes with Apple laptops is more than competent!
Would love to know how you two got into this idea and what you did for a living before traveling. Awesome channel. I’m also Vietnamese and it’s great seeing a non typical Vietnamese guy do something so fun and out of the norm! Keep at it!!
Their fascination is a little strange, these are what Australia calls a work truck.not fancy, not a show pony just well made, durable with so much room in the back to modify into whatever. The twin tanks for a total of 150 litres give it long legs. There are plenty of after market parts.
Hi, Jst had yr channel poped out in my RUclips. Jst watched yr video quickly . I m wondering why u hv to go to an LC while hving a Montero/Pajero?? Howevr, actually both are my favorite ❤. The right wheel steering will not cause any problem of registeting or safety in North America?? Thnks 😊
It cracks me up that these Tojos have become "Troop Carriers", they are in fact "Personnel Carriers" but the Morons here in OZ thought that Personnel meant Military Personnel so the dumb name stuck ! Dime a dozen here in the West ,heaps of them ex minesite vehicles,Glad you like it !
@@gondirtin smart. ARB bullbars are designed well. The tubework reinforces the bumper/winch structure. Think of it like a bridge. Could you share the process of purchasing and shipping to the US.
The 70-series LC is everything the wrangler wants to be but is not. It's extremely durable, tough and reliable!
This intro music, like a 90s sitcom. I love it
That’s the vibe we were going for actually! You’re the first to note it!
@@gondirtin haha nice. You should do cast intros of both of you, hahaha
I love it, can you share the process on how to import one? Availability of spare parts?

Unfortunately, they didn’t offer the high roof or diesel in the USA :(

Hello 👋
Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series 🇯🇵i❤️Car💪👍👍🎥😍👍
Price on the new WHIP???
They sell those in Latin America with the wheel in the left side.
Ahh shame it's not a high top troopy those things as huge inside
High tops are great, but they don't fit into containers for shipping
Or into underground carparks

Is it the V8 or straight 6 Diesel?
6 cyl v8s have a different front clip.
It's a straight 6 diesel. 1HZ
cut the upper half of bull bar
I *think* we're keeping the bull bar as is. It's very, very, over kill for North American travel, but might prove as good insurance down the line.

why import it from Australia , they are all over middle east (specially GCC ) and left hand driving
It would bug me driving on wrong side of vehicle.
