These are my favorite kinds of builds tbh. If you think about it, it's a service we provide as car enthusiasts for the non-car people that just want to buy something cheap and drive it. Keeping cheap cars on the road in good safe working condition is a good hobby to have. There's not a ton of money or glory in it, but morally I think it's a good thing to do. And it keeps our hands busy, but most of all dirty. Hope she runs for another lifetime! Great video
I don't think you answered the question to the title though. That said, I do have 2 nice cars and one 'beater' - one just to put all the general miles on and especially in the winter.
The question is subjective to the viewer & the car. I think this Protege was worth it because I know the resale value is worth more than what I have spent on it. But every car is different. 👍🏼
For me the subaru is the all time winter car! With proper care and washing and some ppf im not worried about the rust and all that! What makes me not want to drive it in the winter is all the terrible drivers on the road that might crash into it!

I used to winter beat old RWD Volvos , they were the best winter cars . Now you can’t find them anywhere
RWD in the winter is so fun but can get a lil sketchy sometimes 😅
I saw a couple on the side of I 95. Two actually broken down. So they are still around
