I had cateract surgery when I was 25(!) and no one warned me that there was a risk of dry eye. It wouldn't have changed my decision to have the surgery, but it meant that I didn't know why even after the healing process was expected to be complete, it still seemed like my vision and eyes were worse.
I’ve noticed that certain ingredients in skincare products dry my eyes out pretty bad. Would be great if you could talk about that, if there are certain ingredients that we should avoid in skincare and sunscreens for sensitive eyes
Hi Dr Rupa ! This is Dr Sonali from India , I am an ophthalmologist too , I am 42 years old and a mom of two young boys . Thank Dr. Rupa! I don't have this problem but the video was very informative. Also you're literally glowing 😍😄 maybe a video about tips on around eyes/skincare?
It’s a little out of topic question, but can you tell me what is the best way to clean eye shadows to keep it from bacteria and cause any potential damage to the eyes. Thank you.
Thank u Dr Rupa, when I was working in an department store, every morning my eyes would tear up, ppl thought I was crying 😭. Fortunately now that I’m no longer working there due to Covid, it has stopped. What do u think happpened? Totally enjoy ur vlogs ...ur so happy n spirited! Stay safe😷😷😷💕💕 Blessings to u n ur Ohana!
Department stores are notorious for their air conditioning which basically works like a fan in terms of drying your eyes out. When you resume work, take a bottle of artificial tears with you!
Love your videos! What artificial eye drops you recommend that are free of bad ingredients? Also how best remove eye makeup without damaging the 👀.. thank you!
My eyes got really dry while pregant. My daughter is 2 now and they are still so dry. Cant wear contact lenses for more than a few hrs without them irritating my eyes and making them red and thats with using the eye drops optician advised. I just want to be able to wear my contact lenses again.
I have a question. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and my vision is kind of off. Almost like being cross eyed. It goes away after a couple minutes. It never happens during the day only sometimes after i wake up in the middle of the night. What could it be ? Thank you love your videos :)
As soon as I caught covid in 2020 my eyes haven't been the same I have the dry eyes I went to one eye doctor he said there is no problem when I know my eyes were different went to another doctor and he said just use refresh
It is so aggravating when doctors are not able to confirm the issue. I'm so sorry that happened. If you haven't already, I have a couple videos you might be interested in watching. Hello Dr. Rupa. What about Zylet and Lotemax Sm, my doctor prescribed those and i think they made my eyes worse. He first gave me Zylet for a stye, 1 drop 4 times a day, i believe it caused my eye to get inflamed but he said to take the Lotemax Sm the same, 4 times a day. Now my eyes are red all day. I have been using over the counter refresh plus, pataday and Systane along with the night ointments along with warm and cold compression but im not seeing results. I don't know what to do. Went to a different doctor last week she said to stop the Lotemax which i had a couple of days prior. I feel frustrated. What do you recommend?...Patience?
hi Dr Rupa I have been diagnosed with thyroid eye disease this happened towards the end of December I've been your cited all my life I am not real happy about what the doctor told me he said that my the surface of my eye has to be smooth does that mean the cornea I just don't see him again till February 7th and I am in hell anything you could suggest a before I see my eye doctor would be appreciated thank you that was a wonderful video by the way Chris Armstrong
Hi Christine. I'm so sorry you're in such pain. I can't comment specifically about your case, but in general, people with thyroid eye disease have dry eyes, strabismus and thyroid ophthalmopathy. See a dry eye specialist for help (I know how challenging that can be!). Good luck
First of all, thank you for the amazing videos second 40 is not old but why did I think you were in your 20s can you please share your skincare routine and diet?
You're so sweet! I had someone else ask for that video and I will certainly share - though I truly don't do anything too fancy - lots of sunscreen, a good antioxidant serum and botox twice a year!

Yes, the only thing i noticed is fragrance (an obvious one) and oily products that migrate into my eyes, which is sad because my skin is dessert dry 😑

Thank you!! Do you have dry eyes?
Good information, eye doctors don't have time to explain all this .
Totally. Visits have to be so short these days so I’m glad I can dispense a little extra education!
I really liked this video. I am all of a sudden getting red eyes without pain. And sometimes show blepharitis symptoms. And it’s so frustrating
blepharitis is a pain for patients. I'm going to do a whole video on the topic - stay tuned and hope you get some relief in the meantime.

Can you recommend eye creams safe for dry sensitive eyes?
Sodium chloride sold online in small tube. I tried everything but this was only answer to my cornea abrasion. It’s for nighttime & I wear eye cover
What about warm compress treatment? 🤷🏼♀️
Most definitely warm compresses help. You can do it with a washcloth and hot water, one of those eye masks or a rice sock
Very informative, thanks you!
Thanks for watching Manju!
