Thank you Rachel Reeves for giving a great speech that has sent chills down the opposition party. Introducing a Covid corruption officer/enquiry task force to recover those illegal contracts given to business friends or members who paid the highest donation fees or for financial favors! Also, a new focus on value for money, great idea! Thank you Labour for reaching out to the public!
Looking forward to tax rises for everybody then give yourselves a pat on the back and say I voted for Labour. Remember the guy who took us to war with Iraq, what a great Labour leader he was, as for his Chancellor old Gordon wonk eye Brown. He only had one eye on the books otherwise Britain wouldn't have been bankrupt when they got evicted from power. Oh, how we forget so quickly. Mark my words.

Sunak and Hunt halved inflation to 2% and cut tax £900 for 27 million people but Reeves's statement is a chaos for our £ rate is weak already

All the Tories keep attacking a strawman about "Labour said they wouldn't raise taxes". Labour actually said they wouldn't raise income tax, NI and VAT. The only taxes ordinary working people pay. They are just upset it means their rich donors will be asked to cough up more or simply have various tax avoidance loopholes closed so they will have to pay tax like ordinary people do.

2.5 million pensioners are eligible for pension credit, yet 11.5 million pensioners receive winter fuel allowance payments. Why should the tax payer dish out blanket payments to 8 million wealthy pensioners who do not need it

I’m a pensioner who has lost his winter fuel payment. I don’t mind if it’s part of a bigger plan but, the budget had damned well better include measures to take an equivalent amount of income off the rich or this will be a one term government.

If you're eligible for pension credits, no matter how little, claim them, because anyone who gets pension credits will be able to continue getting the winter fuel allowance. The issue is the amount of messes Labour has to actually fix, it took us 14 long years to get into this mess, so we can't expect them to wave their hand and it all be magically better. It is going to take more than a single term to repair the damage. As Reeves pointed out in her speech, the Tories deliberately hid information from the OBR, and from the rest of parliament, including a 22bn black hole. Their bigger plan ultimately is to fix.... well, everything. If they manage to deliver on some of it by the next parliament, I will vote Labour again because then they'll have a track record of keeping promises, if not I will switch to the Greens because we need a genuinely left wing government that puts proper taxation on the rich and makes life better for everyone else.
